This was a pretty disappointing stay for a Marriott. The rooms were decently sized. However, the air vent was so loud and kept us up at night. There was constant noise coming from the toilet every few minutes. The pool was pretty gross didn’t look clean. The rooms and overall hotel does need updating. However, the three individuals manning the breakfast area during our stay were very nice and helpful! The front desk staff that checked us in was also very kind! Service was great!

May 13, 2025 · Jenny Alzate-MyersI cannot recommend this Residence Inn enough! It’s one of the cleanest, most comfortable, and accommodating places I’ve ever stayed. Despite some bad reviews I saw before coming, my experience here has been absolutely incredible, and I truly don’t understand the negativity. The staff are some of the nicest, most attentive people I’ve encountered—they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything a family needs. The breakfast is fresh and delicious, and throughout the day, they offer thoughtful touches like cookies and strawberry- or lemon-infused water in the lobby. One moment I have to highlight: we were watching a football game in the lobby with my 6-year-old daughter, and she started to get a little bored. The lovely woman at the front desk noticed and brought over a little drawing kit with colored pencils and printed coloring pages for her. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that truly stood out. This place has exceeded all expectations, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and family-friendly.
Jan 19, 2025 · Bridgett FreeseDisappointed Stay – Not What I Expected from a Marriott Property I stayed at the Residence Inn Mystic Groton after traveling for a women’s business event and was truly disappointed with the experience. As a Marriott Gold member, I expected a much higher level of service and accommodation. Upon check-in, I was placed on the first floor in a room that was extremely musty. Since I planned to cook during my stay, I wanted to air the room out—but none of the windows had screens. I asked the front desk for a new room and was moved across the hall, only to find the same issue. After requesting a third room, I was finally placed in one with just one screened window out of four—not much of an improvement. To make matters worse, the bathroom had running water noises all night long, which made it difficult to sleep. Overall, I didn’t feel valued or properly accommodated, especially given my Gold status. There was no courtesy gesture or attempt to address the inconvenience. I plan to contact Marriott directly, as I’m genuinely surprised this property carries their name.
Apr 30, 2025 · Victoria de la CruzThis was the worst experience. The rooms smelled of smoke. The whole hotel smelled of smoke. They’re cigarette butts in the stairwells. The pool was ice cold and I’m pretty sure there was no chlorine in it. I was terrified that my kids were going to fall in the pool area. The floors are tile and slippery. The hotel is way outdated. The fire alarms went off at 3am. From a guest smoking. We had to wake our four year old and two year old up and go outside and wait to be allowed back in. Then when we were told we could go back in. We were told, “false alarm you can go back.” Not even an “I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” The breakfast was a joke. You can’t bring your food to your room. They watch you like a hawk. I asked for more juice and they told us, “it costs too much money to put the machine back on.”
Apr 28, 2025 · Amy Schelinoverall, I’d give it a 4.8 out of 5. The man out front was very pleasant. Very welcoming very helpful and cheerful. Check-in wasn’t until 4 however we arrived around 12 and he made an accommodations for us. The room was huge and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes. The pool was heated! A big plus in our book. A decent size as well. 24 hour gym, a nice one!! FREE breakfast the next morning was amazing, a lot of options, great food. FREE cookies as well sitting on the desk, those are amazing. The con is minuscule, but the door to the room would not shut unless you use your key card whether you’re in or out. It was very inconvenient. Also, the next morning after breakfast around 7:30 we want to use the pool, he forgot to open it so once we went in, the water was still with a film over the top. Although it was heated It was quite dirty, you could tell there was no filter system running, hairballs and bugs inside. Also, I woke up with rashes all over my hands and knees. Could’ve been from the sheets, the pool or just a coincidence Overall though I would hundred percent stay again
