Rockaway Hotel

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment and strongly urge others to avoid it. Upon checking in, it became immediately apparent that this location fails to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and customer service. First, the room was in unacceptable condition. The bed was not properly made, the pillows were visibly dirty, and the curtains were torn and marred with dirt and burn marks. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor, as if it had not been cleaned, and the blow dryer was non-functional. The refrigerator did not work, and the closet was unusable due to a broken armrest. Additionally, there were no hangers, iron, or ironing board available, which added to the overall inconvenience. These issues, combined with the apparent lack of attention to cleanliness and organization, suggest a serious lack of respect for guests. This is not just an oversight—it points to systemic negligence. I would not recommend this establishment under any circumstances. In fact, I strongly believe it warrants an investigation by the appropriate authorities, such as the Better Business Bureau, to address these glaring deficiencies. This location is in dire need of significant improvements or potential closure to prevent further dissatisfaction and inconvenience to future customers. Rating: 0/5

There is no sign on the front of the building except a NO TRESPASSING sign on the door. Upon entering, the first thing you see are signs prohibiting prostitution and loitering (there are 3 "no prostitution" signs in the hallway of every floor, in case you missed the first one). The front desk guy was nice and friendly at least. The room smelled of smoke, and there was a plastic bag taped around the smoke detector. The window only opened an inch or so, so I couldn't air it out. At least when I couldn't sleep from the street noise, I could count the cigarette burns on the bedding! The location is a bit sketchy, but there are 3 great fabric stores within a block. Also, it's close to the 3 and L trains, though I was advised by multiple people not to walk to them at night.

Okay so first off it was $464 for two nights, walking in there's an automatic no prostitution signs posted okay sure I get it. But then we got up to the fourth floor basically as soon as you get there you're hit by a cloud of cigarette smoke taking up the entire top floor The ice machine is at the very bottom of the basement which works really well but the fridge is inside the mini fridge did not work. Our room had dirty towels and hair stuck in the hair dryer. The walls had stains on it and where I would hang my coat there was either the hook ripped off or a bullet hole I'm not actually sure this point but if they look similar hey 😆. Parking is hit or miss I got lucky it was right next door so I can at least keep an eye on my car. Honestly I would go somewhere else trust me on this one The first thing I did when I left was take a shower but even the sheets I had to put down my own clothes to lay on because yeah. Sorry but not 😐

The room is close to the road and it is very noisy. Not only the passing cars make a lot of noise, but there are also a bunch of kids waiting for the school bus on the side of the road, and they start screaming like crazy at about 6 o'clock. Now it's 7 o'clock, and these children finally left.

Front desk guy was cool as hell and really nice. We checked in right after 3. The room was clean bed was comfortable. My boyfriend and enjoyed our stay! Lots of places to eat in the neighborhood but it gets kinda sketchy after a certain time!
