Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Avoid at All Costs! I rarely leave reviews, but this place was such a disaster I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I checked in, it was clear this hotel doesn't care about its guests. The front desk staff was rude and seemed annoyed I was even there. The check-in process took forever, and they messed up my reservation despite me showing them a confirmation email. The room was filthy—stains on the sheets, a weird smell coming from the bathroom, and what looked like mold in the shower. The "free Wi-Fi" barely worked, and the TV had only two functioning channels. On top of that, the walls were paper-thin, so I could hear every word of the loud argument next door at 2 AM. To make things worse, the so-called breakfast was a joke—stale cereal, lukewarm coffee, and no fresh options at all. I ended up skipping it entirely after the first day. I also noticed several maintenance issues throughout the property—broken elevators, flickering hallway lights, and peeling paint. This place needs a complete overhaul, both in terms of facilities and customer service. Definitely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Never again.

For Arizona locals, the Rodeway Inn Old Town Scottsdale, while a budget-friendly option, can serve a practical purpose for specific needs within our own community. It’s important to understand its offering as a straightforward, no-frills choice that prioritizes location and basic convenience, rather than an upscale experience.
Firstly, for those Arizonans planning a quick, spontaneous "staycation" in Old Town Scottsdale on a tight budget, this inn offers an accessible entry point. If your primary goal is to be close to the action—the shops, restaurants, art galleries, and nightlife—without spending a fortune on accommodation, the Rodeway Inn's prime location is its strongest asset. You can park your car for free and enjoy the walkability of Old Town, saving your funds for dining out, shopping, or experiences. It's about maximizing your exploration of Scottsdale’s vibrant heart.
Secondly, if you're hosting out-of-town guests who are budget-conscious but want to stay in a central Scottsdale location, this could be a viable recommendation. While managing expectations about amenities and service levels is crucial, its proximity to attractions like Scottsdale Fashion Square and Scottsdale Stadium makes it convenient for visitors who prioritize location above all else. For guests who plan to spend most of their time out and about, only needing a place to sleep and refresh, the basic comforts of a private room with a microwave and refrigerator can suffice.
Moreover, for locals attending a specific event in Old Town, such as Spring Training games at Scottsdale Stadium, art festivals, or concerts, the Rodeway Inn offers a convenient and affordable home base. You can avoid the hassle of long commutes or expensive parking by staying just a stone's throw away from the action. Its free parking is a particularly attractive feature for anyone driving in from other parts of Arizona.
While some past reviews highlight areas for improvement, especially regarding customer service consistency and room condition, the fact that it's part of the larger Choice Hotels brand suggests a baseline standard. For Arizona locals who are savvy travelers and understand how to leverage basic accommodations for maximum location benefit, the Rodeway Inn Old Town Scottsdale offers a functional and economically sensible solution to enjoy our state's most iconic entertainment district.

Jun 14, 2025 · tomtombeast5 111Watch out for fraudulent charges! After I paid for my room during check in, the front desk told me that they were going to place a $100 hold on my credit card for a room deposit. Instead, I was charged $100 and reimbursed $95. After speaking with Choice Hotels and finally the front desk, I was told that a miscellaneous admin fee was assessed for all no smoking, no pet rooms. I hope that Choice Hotels follows up with their investigation per my conversation with them. $5 or $500, it's the principle of the matter. I expect better from Choice Hotels and as a Choice Privileges member.
Jun 10, 2025 · Tory WhiteI made a reservation about four hours previous to my check in.. When I got to the hotel to check in the clerk told me he had canceled the reservation because my credit card was invalid.. Called my credit card company...absolutely no problems with the card and the transaction was approved. According to choice hotel member services..The clerk canceled the reservation Without any explanation.. When I asked the clerk to give me another room he quoted over double the price of what I originally reserved.. He canceled the reservation because there was a customer that was willing to pay more... These people are straight up criminals stay as far away as you possibly can.. I got a glimpse of inside one of the rooms and it looks like a first class flea bag motel.. I couldnt stop laughing when he quoted me almost $200 for one of these rooms.. Choice hotel member services did absolutely nothing to make this right.. I deleted my account...
