I have stayed here a few times. The hotel is well situated in the downtown area. The rooms are sparse basic, but they are quite clean and comfortable. The manager is quite friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a good place to stay if you are in Claremont and need a decent plate and if you're not looking for anything too fancy
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Claremont, New Hampshire, the Royal Inn presents itself as a no-frills, budget-conscious lodging option. Located at 24 Sullivan St, Claremont, NH 03743, USA, and reachable at (603) 542-9567 or +1 603-542-9567, this motel aims to provide basic accommodations for travelers needing a place to stay in the area.
The Royal Inn is situated in the downtown area of Claremont, New Hampshire. This central location places guests within proximity to local businesses, services, and potentially some of the town's more historical or cultural points of interest, though specific walking distance attractions are not broadly highlighted. Being in a downtown setting typically means access to nearby dining options and shops, though these are not detailed in the provided information. The overall environment of a budget motel can vary, but its placement in the downtown area suggests convenience for those needing to be in the heart of Claremont. Customer reviews, however, present a mixed picture regarding the internal environment of the motel itself, with some describing it as "sparse basic" but "quite clean and comfortable," while others report significant issues such as "rat & bug infested" conditions. This disparity suggests that the environmental quality can be inconsistent or that experiences vary greatly depending on the room or time of stay. The exterior and immediate surroundings are typical of a roadside motel, with direct access to parking. The property offers free self-parking, which is a practical amenity for guests arriving by car.
The Royal Inn provides essential services typically found in a motel setting. These generally include a front desk, though specific hours of operation are not detailed. One consistent positive note from customer feedback is the friendliness and helpfulness of the manager, suggesting a personal touch in guest interactions. The motel offers complimentary wireless internet (Wi-Fi), which is a crucial amenity for most modern travelers. While some reviews mention "no housekeeping" or claim that housekeeping is not performed despite promises, this contradicts the standard expectation of motel services. Conversely, there is a mention of an "over $200 cleaning fee" if a guest does not clean their own room, which is an unusual and potentially concerning policy for a hospitality establishment. This suggests a deviation from conventional motel service standards where daily cleaning is typically included in the room rate. The motel is known to be pet-friendly, which can be a significant advantage for travelers with animals, although specific pet policies or potential fees are not detailed.
In terms of other general services, typical budget motels offer amenities like air conditioning and heating in rooms. However, the lack of consistent and positive information regarding other services like a business center, recreational facilities (like a pool or fitness center), or on-site dining suggests that these are likely not offered, or at least not prominently featured. The focus appears to be on providing a straightforward place to sleep, without extensive additional services.
The Royal Inn's rooms are described as "sparse basic," indicating a minimalist approach to furnishings and decor. However, some positive features highlighted by a customer include "amazing heat," "comfortable bed," "Tv had a Roku," "usb chargers," a "nice size mini fridge n microwave," "amazing shower water pressure," and "boiling hot water." These amenities, when present and functioning as described, would significantly enhance a basic stay. The provision of a mini-fridge and microwave is particularly useful for budget travelers or those on extended stays, allowing for basic food storage and preparation. However, these positive descriptions are sharply contrasted by other reviews that mention a lack of cleanliness, including "rat & bug infested" conditions and an absence of soap or clean bathrooms. The presence of such severe negative feedback alongside positive remarks suggests a significant inconsistency in room quality and maintenance across the property. The overall impression of the rooms' features is one of variability, where some guests might find them perfectly adequate for a simple need, while others experience unacceptable conditions. It also implies that while certain modern conveniences like Roku TVs and USB chargers might be available, the fundamental cleanliness and maintenance might be lacking in some instances.
For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering the Royal Inn, the primary promotional appeal lies in its position as a budget-friendly option in downtown Claremont. The positive feedback highlights its suitability for those "not looking for anything too fancy" but rather a "decent place" to stay, emphasizing features like comfort, cleanliness (from some perspectives), and quick hospitality. The manager's friendly and helpful demeanor is a recurring positive, suggesting a personalized touch that can be appealing. The motel's pet-friendly policy is also a key draw for a specific segment of travelers. However, potential guests must be made aware of the highly contrasting and severe negative reviews concerning cleanliness, pest issues, and unusual cleaning fee policies. This objective introduction must reflect these critical concerns, as they are significant factors influencing a traveler's decision. Therefore, while the Royal Inn may offer an economical choice with some convenient amenities and a central location, prospective guests should manage their expectations regarding overall quality and consistency based on the varied feedback available online. It appears to cater to travelers whose priority is primarily an affordable overnight stay, and who may be willing to overlook potential inconsistencies in quality for the sake of budget.

Apr 24, 2025 路 Peter KwiatekWant to stay at a rat & bug infested motel with no housekeeping? They say they do, but I promise you they don't. Don't clean your own room? Over $200 cleaning fee! A previous tenant breaks something & you report it? Your fault/another fee! Clean bathroom? Doesn't exist! Clean room? What's that?! Do NOT stay here! You'd be better off staying on the streets for the time.

I then asked for a refund, and the receptionist agreed but said I needed to contact booking.com. After reaching out to them, I initially believed I had received a refund. However, a few weeks later, I checked my account and realized I had not received anything. When I contacted booking.com again, I was put on hold while they spoke with the hotel. To my surprise, I was told that the Royal Inn claimed this incident never happened and that I had checked out on time, which is definitely not true鈥擨 checked out four days earlier than my scheduled departure. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I believe those are terrible people. I am considering legal action to ensure that others do not have to go through this. 馃悁 馃悁 馃悁 馃悁 馃悁

Apr 28, 2025 路 Jordan LarawayAWFUL! My wife, 2 daughters and myself went to a family graduation party in NH. We arrived at the hotel around midnight and were greeted by a grumpy clerk. We proceed to pay for our room and quickly slipped out to get our belongings put away and get some rest. We started unpacking and we're called back to the office where another disturbed man had joined the original clerk and demanded we pay an extra 80 dollars for the stay. He said we needed to pay 80 extra cause our 2 kids weren't on the reservation (which they 100% were) when we told him we booked a room with 2 beds cause our 2 daughters were sharing a bed and my wife and I were sleeping in the other, they responded with, the 80 dollars was a smokers fee.... i replied with, i thought it was for the kids? He then said 2 kids plus smoking... we aren't smokers so I told him I'm not paying 80 dollars for my 2 children that were on the reservation and I'm definitely not paying 80 dollars for a smoking fee when WE DONT SMOKE!! Anyways, We slept the night there on the most uncomfortable beds (felt like cardboard boxes under the DIRTY sheets) and the smell of the room was horrendous!! Fast forward to next morning. I woke up earlier than the girls so I went to the nearest McDonald's to go get coffee and a sandwich for the girls cause they offer NOTHING!! While I was gone I got a phonecall from my wife telling me to hurry back that they were woken up to them banging on our door and trying to enter at 9am wanting us to check out. (we couldn't wait to get the heck outta that nightmare anyway) After a long 6.5 hour drive with hardly any sleep due to the smell and uncomfortable beds, We arrived home and were surprised to find they charged us over 240 dollars for the 1 night stay. We left the room spotless and even made the bed in the morning (finding multiple bugs in the room and in the bed) GROSS!! Not only did we get charged 140 dollars extra for the stay, we were out another 25 dollars cause we had to go to the nearest laundromat and wash all our belongings so we wouldn't bring their bugs home with us. The owner couldn't pay me to sleep in that place again. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay or sleep in my vehicle before giving this place business again. *YOU'VE BEEN WARNED*
