My wife and I recently enjoyed a last-minute weekend getaway at this charming Vermont inn. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the host, who personally assisted us by carrying one of our heavier bags to our room while providing an informative history of the inn. We stayed in Room 36, the East Lake Room, which was cozy and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. As of this review, the bed features a soft full-size mattress, which we found quite pleasant. Although we’ve seen a few reviews that raised concerns about the host, the facilities, and other aspects of the inn, we did not encounter any issues during our stay. The host was attentive and responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Despite a snowstorm over the weekend, the grounds were well-maintained, and the roads were promptly plowed. If you're looking for an authentic Vermont inn that makes you feel at home, we highly recommend this one. We'll be back in the summer when everything is green.

We had a wonderful stay at the Windsor Mansion Inn this past weekend. We had booked a smaller room, but were upgraded to a larger room for free when we checked in. Lots of historic charm here. Clean rooms and common areas. Coffee/tea bar available all day and a warm breakfast included in the morning. Received great recommendations for things to do in the area. Would stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

We came with a large group and rented the entire mansion, which was a mixed experience. I think this would be a great place to stay as an individual guest in a single room (hotel style). The rooms are well kept and comfortable. The property manager (Andy) is very available and helpful when you want him to be. I can’t recommend it as a private rental with a large group though. We discovered the property on Airbnb, so private rentals are part of what they do, but it seems that most of their business and most reviews online are from smaller groups who stayed in a single room. As a private rental, you’ll pay the high rate for privacy that you are used to with large homes on Airbnb, but with a less private and more tightly controlled experience. When we arrived, Andy showed us around and laid the ground rules. For example, we were supposed to clean the kitchen before we left, which is normal. On Saturday morning, we made eggs and bacon using one pan and two baking sheets. We planned to clean them that night as we were leaving Sunday morning, figuring it didn’t matter to leave the kitchen unclean in the middle of our stay. Andy came to us later, said he was frustrated that he had to clean up after us, and also called us “stupid” for using baking sheets without foil. We were all shocked and frustrated that he never laid out this expectation and also felt the need to insult us. I think he would do well as a hotel host, because that is meant to be a more tightly controlled experience, but if you do a private rental from him, don’t expect the privacy and independence that you are used to with most homes on Airbnb.

Charming and relaxing Inn ! We spent our Christmas here and it was just what we needed. Andy went the extra mile during our entire stay. Breakfast was delicious and I loved that we had individual seating unlike most B & Bs when you’re seated at one table. We especially enjoyed the local live entertainment. So fun !

This beautifully restored mansion has really enchanted us with its serene and rustic charm. A lovely 12 year Anniversary getaway for my husband and I. So close as 10-15 minutes to quite literally anything and everything you would want to experience in Vermont. There are breathtaking views all around the mansion’s property as well as cosy rooms decorated accordingly, staying true to the historic value and beauty of its age. There is a spacious common room equipped with a bar, piano, huge flat screen and multiple games to choose from for those indoor days or nights. The breakfast was simply delicious! To Andy and staff, thank you so much for your exceptional gracious hospitality and making us feel welcome and at home. This is truly a gem that should not be missed! Sincerely, Jamie & Jose
