Not Worth the Price—Unless You’re Into Sleepless Nights and Folgers Regret The hotel’s location is really the only major selling point—conveniently close to shopping and Dartmouth College, which made getting around pretty easy. The room also looked just like the pictures on Priceline, so no surprises there. But everything else? Buckle up. First, the front desk clerk was clearly sick, and we’re pretty sure that’s how we ended up catching the plague. Not ideal. Then came the full-blown redneck tailgate party in the parking lot—pickup trucks blasting country music into the night, doors slamming nonstop, and someone shouting “little girly” at me like it was a line from an unreleased horror-comedy. The in-room coffee maker was a tragic attempt at functionality—just forget about it. The lobby coffee was Folgers-level sad, but hey, at least it was slightly better than the mystery liquid the machine in the room produced. The air system had no chill—literally. It was either too cold or too hot, with dry, recycled air that left us dehydrated and cranky. The pillows smelled like they had a long history with a sweaty long-haul trucker, and the TV remote barely worked (unless your idea of a fun night is pushing the same button 15 times to get to the Weather Channel). Vending machines were empty. Like, apocalypse empty. And the bed? Absolutely brutal. I would’ve slept better on a yoga mat in the parking lot next to the party. Also, you need to request housekeeping, which is fine in theory—if the price wasn’t creeping into “should be way better than this” territory. Final verdict: If you’re looking for location and nothing else, sure. But if you want a good night’s sleep, working amenities, or literally anything above bare minimum, you might want to keep scrolling.

May 17, 2025 · Kat StebbinsMy husband and I stayed here because he is a Dartmouth Health employee who works 12 hour overnight shifts. I called prior to booking a room to ask about a late checkout option. I was told that was possible. Great! So I booked a room and added a request for a late checkout. During the check-in I confirmed the request for a late checkout. Then on the day we were schedule to checkout, I have room service knocking at 11am, waking up my husband (who worked a 12 hour shift the prior evening), then I received a call to the room at 12pm (again waking up my husband) to ask about the lake checkout. Needless to say, my husband got very little sleep and we are both incredibly annoyed with the service. If you need any type of accommodations I would suggest somewhere else.
Apr 18, 2025 · Amanda FiskeReally wasn't great. Location: so-so. Near good spots in NH but unfortunately also near a waste treatment plant. Parking lot smells like sewage, room views overlook parking lot. Rooms: iffy. There were many noticable stains on the bedding--pillows, blankets, and sheets, which seems silly considering you can just bleach white. Service: terrible. I booked this hotel through Expedia because I wanted a weekend to relax, to go to their indoor pool, hang out in a robe, and have someone else make my bed. On Expedia they said it had an indoor pool, turn-down service, etc. Not only did it not have a pool in winter (or an indoor one, allegedly, despite having pics of it??) but the whole hotel didn't have robes! I even asked! Even worse, I asked for turn-down service at the front desk after the maid skipped our room with the "please make up room" sign on door for 2 days! Even though there were only 1 or 2 other rooms booked in the entire hotel! It was completely empty but she couldn't do our room? So I asked the front desk, specifically, to have her make the bed and room up. She did not. She grabbed 1 towel, emptied 1/2 trash bins, and left. Why did I spend hundreds of dollars to relax at a place that had no decent amenities? What kind of hotel doesn't have robes or do turn-down??
Mar 01, 2025 · Willa C.E.Booked a 1-night stay through Expedia. Contacted Expedia two days before our trip to see if we can cancel with a refund or change a date for free due to the upcoming storm. The request was rejected by the hotel. So we didn’t make change or cancel the booking. On the day, we arrived at the hotel at 7:30 pm and were told the booking was cancelled. Expedia still shows our booking as active and never was a confirmation for cancellation received. The front desk lady was extremely rude and kept saying Expedia should have called her to confirm the guests were still coming (which was ridiculous). She made up a bunch of other lies trying to blame Expedia and even refunded Expedia for this non-refundable reservation which the hotel refused to refund for cancellation two days ago. She showed the refund record to my husband and guess what, it was an hour ago when the Expedia rep called her to understand why…. Bottom line, not honest business at all. They can sell your room to others if you check-in late and they ASSUME you are not coming. Will never stay here or any other best western branches.
Feb 17, 2025 · Joy ZhangThe walls are paper thin. Wasn’t able to get a different room because they were fully booked. Choose a different hotel if you’re a light sleeper. Room was clean and staff were nice.
