If you do not care about the places you visit and the people who actually live there, then this resort may be for you. Sebasco engages in unfair hiring practices that lack integrity and favor seasonal employees of international origin over locals, and, their environmental practices harm the local community and planet. This is such a shame, as the resort is in a gorgeous location and has the potential to be a real boon for Phippsburg, our people, the coastal ecosystem, and visitors alike. I hope that Giri Hotels will reconsider how it does business here by better training its top management in hiring and HR practices and leaning into building community. Instituting a locals first protocol by actually putting in the effort to try to find local talent would contribute to and support our local economy, while building community. From there, filling in with their existing staff from other regions and then international staff to fill in the gaps would be much more equitable. Instead, Giri just brings in their own insiders from other states to transplant here and run the resort like a tourist shop, ghosting experienced locals who apply for jobs and carrying on without regard for our vibrant community and our people, many of whom are in need of sustainable job opportunities to survive...jobs that are already assigned to international workers coming here for the season, while our locals suffer. This practice contravenes federal law, which requires employers to actually LOOK locally for staff first --- AND -- it deepens the gross misunderstanding that international workers who come here lawfully for work opportunities are somehow to blame for the lack of opportunities for U.S. workers, when the real culprit in the hospitality industry is businesses like Sebasco Resort / Giri Hotels. I encourage you to stay at locally owned and operated places, instead of Sebasco. If you already have a wedding or stay planned at Sebasco, I encourage you to fill out a comment card that asks them to do better by the local community and institute better hiring practices!

The resort's long-standing presence and its charming, activity-rich environment continue to make it a popular choice for those seeking a classic Maine resort experience among "Hotels Near Of Me."

Mar 18, 2025 · Melissa Gates (Liss)Love this place. We've stayed here 3 times and had a great experience every time. Our favorite room is close to the water, quiet except for the soothing sound of the ocean, and has gorgeous sunsets. Postcard views. And, EVERY staff member we encountered could not have been more friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit.
Oct 20, 2024 · Tom StricklandMy partner and I had only planned to stay for one night after leaf peeping in NH. I had visited their website with all the listed amenities and was excited to see I could get a cottage by the water with a discounted price for being in the off season. Once we checked in we went to room and were surprised to see how uncleanly it was. Holes in the walls, spiders and dust behind the bed frame, my partner found items under the bed from the previous guest. There were black marks all over the place. In addition, most of the staff there were unfriendly, unhelpful and completely spaced out. You’d think at a resort that’s charging upwards of $300 a night the rooms would be clean and the staff would be helpful. I was told many different times about the continental breakfast, as were many other people, and this did not happen. The women at the front desk in the morning on 10/13 looked dumbfounded and so confused that other people were asking the same thing. She looked over to where it was supposed to be served and just said, “Oh, I don’t know why it’s not here. Maybe they are late bringing it in. But you can go get coffee somewhere else.” This was completely unhelpful and almost laughable because she honestly looked high or out of it. My partner and I discussed staying here in the summer because of the location, but based on the gross room and horrible service, we will never come here again. Save your money and try any of the other cute resorts in that area!
Oct 15, 2024 · elyse desticheLove this place! Stunning ocean views. Retro bowling alley was an awesome trip down memory lane. Saltwater pool was warm and relaxing. There is a little store, ice cream window , golf course, tennis and pickle ball courts and bikes, a dock and a light house. Cabins are charming.....total retro...hotel rooms are modern....there is even a hall with a stage that looks like Dirty Dancing was filmed there. I'll be going back!!
Sep 27, 2024 · Janet CrockerWe only stayed one night in one of the lighthouse rooms - super cute building and room! Super thin walls so definitely recommend ear plugs! When we checked in we were told we didn’t need reservations at Ledges but it was very busy when we arrived. So definitely make reservations. Cute property - probably good for summer with families!
