Like others earlier reviews had me a bit concerned, but this truly was a great stay. The staff were courteous and accommodating to our team of parents as well as kids. The breakfast was simple with enough options to get something for everyone before the early games, fresh fruit was a great option. The location can’t be beat for hockey tournaments, it is no question walkable to the rink! Sure the bathroom was a bit dated, but it was clean and the room was spacious enough for the 4 of us. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you.

Mar 23, 2025 · Brian HallWe stayed here this past weekend and it was perfect! Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating, always around to ask a question or chat. We found everything we needed within walking distance. A nice surprise was a stream out in the back of the property, and a walking trail. The inside of the inn is rustic and quaint, and my family enjoyed exploring inside. Rooms had a fridge and we could use the microwave in the breakfast area. I would definitely stay here again!
May 06, 2025 · Stephanie DeBoerTo be honest, after reading all the reviews, I was horrified to stay here. I’m a total neat freak and always cleaning. A lot of people mentioned getting in trouble for various things in their reviews, so I was a little nervous. But our experience was completely different—in the best way. We stayed here in March for a hockey tournament, and it was the perfect setup for our group of about 50 people. The kids had a blast—roaming the hotel, playing knee hockey without any issues, and hanging out back and forth in their friends’ rooms. There was a common room off the main floor lobby with tables, couches, and a TV, which we were able to use for free to relax and order takeout. No one ever gave us a hard time. The adults also had a space to hang out in the common area on our floor at night, and there were no issues with having alcohol around the hotel. Breakfast was simple but did the trick, and the kids loved making their own waffles. Our room was clean (huge relief for me!), and the hotel staff was super accommodating about keeping our group together, even allowing room switches at check-in if needed. The hotel is a bit outdated and has an open layout, so sound travels between floors, but it didn’t impact our stay. The location couldn’t be better—walking distance to the rink, arcade, and restaurants. The pool is a quick 2 min drive the street, and the kids absolutely loved it. The Freedom Pass from the front desk gave us free entry, which was a nice bonus. Also, we never once had a problem with the staff. We were respectful to them, and they respected us right back. None of the issues I read about in other reviews ever came up for us. Overall, we had an awesome experience and would definitely stay here again!
Mar 16, 2025 · AnnIt's a shame the new owners are extremely rude and cheap. The hotel itself is adorable and in the perfect location. The rooms are fine (we had 2 doubles with a kitchen). Money could definitely be invested to update the bathrooms or at least clean them. With that said, the breakfast that was offered was a joke. I would rather pay a little bit more and have decent food to eat or appliances that worked. Also, if you plan on hosting hockey teams for hockey tournaments you should be a little more accommodating with the kids. We were there for a tournament and on Saturday night had an awful experience with the people who own the hotel. They were rude, hostile and very demeaning to a bunch of parents who were just sitting in a common area away from others, not being loud. Was it late? Yes. Were the kids running up and down the halls being loud? No. They wouldn't even let parents bring in their children's hockey sticks at the end of a very late game. It's such a shame considering parents spend a lot of money during these tournaments. The hotel does not have to host these teams if they do not want to. I will not stay here again. I heard the Golden Eagle was great and much more accommodating. If we ever attend this tournament again we will definitely stay there instead.
Dec 15, 2024 · Ashley CarreiroIt was nice, felt very old fashioned. Went here for a hockey tournament and enjoyed my stay. The staff were very accommodating and nice, the area is great and there were no issues. A fight occurred between two teams when we stayed and it was handled professionally. The beds are a little stiff and the blankets a bit scratchy if that’s makes sense but it’s a generally nice time
