I had made a reservation at Sonesta through my airline, Frontier, for Friday, April 11. As someone who values planning and perfection — especially now that my wife is pregnant — I called on Wednesday, April 9 to confirm the reservation. The staff assured me everything was in order. I traveled with peace of mind, confident that we would arrive to a confirmed room where we could shower and rest. But to my shock and deep disappointment, when I arrived at the front desk, I was told the hotel was full — including the room I had reserved. My confirmed reservation had simply been given away. The front desk agent offered no explanation, no solution — just handed me a card with the manager’s contact details. I tried calling, but she never answered. So there I was, with my pregnant wife, in the rain, forced to go hotel by hotel trying to find a last-minute room late at night. This was not just frustrating — it was distressing and completely avoidable. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way this situation was handled. A confirmed reservation should be honored, and guests — especially those in vulnerable situations — deserve better treatment and accountability.

Apr 12, 2025 · Lucas SpacinWe chose this hotel because mainly the reviews were good and it was close to where we had to be the next day. We recommend this hotel. The bed is extremely comfortable. It’s very very clean, which is important. The bathroom is very clean. Ample parking. For the hotel , I recommend a notepad in the room and also our particular room. I think it was number 239. There is a patch in the ceiling in the bathroom over the shower and while I appreciate them fixing whatever the issue was, they really should paint over that and make it look better that’s kind of the only eyesore I see in the room otherwise we have no complaints. Will you grab a Starbucks coffee on the way out however it was probably one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had - very watery and I’m not sure what happened with that batch, but it wasn’t very good. However, we do appreciate the effort . The hallway was very clean. There was no odd smell in the hotel when you walked in or the room. It was very nice and we definitely would stay here again and recommend it. We weren’t able to try the breakfast. I also would recommend bringing a plug as there are no USB outlets in the room for your electronics.
Dec 13, 2024 · Val ChavezQuite honestly, the hotel is ok, but the service is what I had a serious issue with. I stayed here a month ago at this point (a full month ago)…here’s what happened… We booked through Priceline for 1 night. The first night was ok, although we were a bit put off by being charged $5/day to park in hotels parking lot at a hotel we were paying to stay the night for… When we found out we would need to stay a 2nd night, went down to the front desk to extend the res. The guy at the front desk suggested we book through Priceline again, it would be significantly cheaper. I asked him if we would be required to put another $100 deposit down & pay for parking again. He told me NO we wouldn’t have to do either. The following morning I went down to make sure the 2nd res rolled over as said, & they asked for a card for 2nd deposit & parking..again..I told them what I was told the night prior & ahead said “he was wrong, you have to put a new deposit and parking is $5/day not $5/per stay (again, in their own parking lot). “The director” was standing there as well, no accountability for his employee, Not even an apology for the miscommunication. Little taken back & put off. It has genuinely now been a full month, & I noticed that we still have yet to be refunded for the “incidentals hold” with her only justification to needing a 2nd one for the 2nd night “u will get them back in 5-7 business days from each reservations check out date..if you need to extend again go thru the front desk instead (like I asked about) it will cost $50 more for each night, but we’d be more willing to waive an additional incidentals fee or work with you on parking”. (WHAT?!?!) NOW here we are, a full month they still have not released the funds. BOTH banks this morning (diff cards ea night)…BOTH BANKS gave me the same answer. They adjusted to reflect ensuring they got their ridiculous $5 parking fee for both, but, they have still yet to release the funds for either one! I called them AGAIN this morning, same woman who did check-ins answered the phone, telling me she is the mgr (so another person in charge who took no accountability for her employees mistake during our stay..imagine that)…she basically said “sorry not sorry” and insists the funds were released upon check out telling me again it takes “5-7 days to be refunded” ignoring the fact that it’s been A MONTH, no looking into it after seeing she was who checked us out, just standing on 5-7 days before you get the refund back & she now said the mgr wasn’t in, but she’d transfer me to the “director” to leave a message to “see” if he would call me back when he arrives around 9”, and then got defensive/snippy when I said instead she could take my info down to be sure he calls me back upon his arrival. Never in my life have I stayed at a hotel with so little accountability for their employees ‘mistake’, and upper management being so unwilling to look further to actually fix their obvious mistake and so unapologetic…nevermind with their own private parking lot that charges their customers $5/day to park in the hotel lot either though…even in NYC that is rare if you’re a hotel guest! **let me also state that when going down for the 2nd check in, I asked for a plunger as the toilet in the room hadn’t been working since we got there and no one ever came to fix it. She said they didn’t have one there but could send maintenance up with one..I SPECIFICALLY ASKED for them to just leave it in front of the door and I’d do it myself as my bf was a cancer patient who’d just gone thru chemo and was finally getting some sleep..she said “sure no problem”..30 min later as I was getting dressed there was ONE very light knock at the door, before I could even quickly put a shirt on to answer and grab it, the main. MAN was opening the door and let himself into my room again, where my bf was sleeping and to me TOPLESS in the middle of changing, again unapologetic and when I spoke up for him to stop, he continued to walk right in to the bathroom ***
Apr 17, 2025 · N SieversAn excellent hotel if you just need a place to stay. Clean rooms and incredibly friendly staff. A terrible place for anything else. Despite advertising breakfast and a common area with alcohol service, all of those places were closed for almost the entirety of our 2 night stay because they intentionally gave most of their staff off for "the holiday season". You want to do right by your staff, fine I am all for it. Then don't advertise yourself to hockey tournaments with large groups that expect to be able to use all of your advertised services. The common area with alleged alcohol service was open for about an hour on the second night, and then promptly closed because "another guest was drinking outside alcohol". So everyone gets punished??!! The breakfast area, staffed by the front desk clerk, was opened the second morning and we were offered store bought microwaveable Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches for $11. The "fitness center" is a converted room with half of a dumbbell set and 3 cardio machines. Oh it also had an empty rack for medicine balls and empty towel rack. I paid $365 for this!? Never again. If you just need a bed and a shower, consider staying here. If you expect actual hospitality, spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Dec 11, 2024 · Schuyler GazzoMy grandmother was discriminated against at this Sonesta. They refused to give her a room and wrongly assumed she was an unhoused individual. The front desk manager was incredibly unprofessional, and it was a very upsetting experience. We will never forget this and would never recommend this hotel to anyone. They need to learn how to treat people with respect
