The hotel is clean, the beds are comfy and I really liked the fact that the sink is outside of the bathroom. I also really like that not only was there a chair there was also an ottoman for the other kid to sit on while we ate. If you know how to use and thermostat (which is not hard) there should be no problem with setting the temperature to your liking. If you need a quick place to sleep or a place for a longer stay this hotel is it.

The Spark by Hilton Hummelstown Hershey's location on Sipe Avenue places it within a reasonable proximity to the attractions of Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is often a key factor for travelers in the area. This geographic advantage would naturally position it as a relevant option in searches for "Hotels Near Of Me" for visitors to the entertainment hub. However, an objective introduction requires a balanced look at both its strengths and the significant concerns raised by recent guests.
Let's consider the environment of the Spark by Hilton Hummelstown Hershey. One guest review highlights positive aspects, stating the "hotel is clean" and the "beds are comfy." This indicates that the hotel aims to maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness in its rooms and provides comfortable sleeping arrangements. The design feature of having "the sink outside of the bathroom" was also appreciated by a guest, suggesting a thoughtful layout that could enhance convenience for multiple occupants. The presence of "a chair an ottoman" for seating within the room also points to consideration for guest comfort, especially during meal times. However, the environmental comfort is severely undermined by issues related to noise and temperature control. Guests reported that staff use "radios... on high volume as they walk around the building through out the night" and "don't keep their voices down when talking to eachother on the hallway." This contributes to a highly disruptive and "loud" environment, leading to guests being "woken up multiple times though out the night." Such noise pollution directly impacts the ability to get a restful sleep, a fundamental expectation of any hotel stay.
In terms of services, the hotel's front desk staff are noted for their interactions, though one guest reported a highly negative experience when trying to resolve a booking issue. While a positive review implies general ease of use and comfort, the significant negative feedback details a lack of empathy and assistance. A guest who booked through a third-party (Priceline) was informed by the hotel that "it's not their problem because we booked 3rd party" when attempting to resolve issues with their stay. This suggests a potentially unhelpful stance towards guests who do not book directly, leading to a frustrating "run around" between the hotel and the booking platform. This perceived lack of care for customers experiencing problems, especially those arising from misleading information from a third-party platform, is a major service deficiency. This also raises questions about staff training in conflict resolution and customer satisfaction when external booking channels are involved. The positive comments about the thermostat being "not hard" to use indicate that basic in-room controls are functional, but the underlying issue with the AC/heat system's motion control (detailed below) severely impacts this feature.
Regarding the features of the Spark by Hilton Hummelstown Hershey, the rooms themselves are noted for being clean and having comfortable beds. The thoughtful design of the sink outside the bathroom is a practical feature for families or groups sharing a room. The presence of both a chair and an ottoman also suggests an attempt to provide adequate seating within the room. However, the most critical feature concern highlighted by guests is the "Ac/heat" system. It operates "on a motion control" that turns off if it "doesn't detect movement" and resets to "74°," which a guest found to be "insanely hot." This automatic resetting and turning off throughout the night, due to lack of movement detection (e.g., while sleeping), caused continuous disturbance and discomfort, making it "kept restarting through out the night." This design flaw with a core room feature severely impacts guest comfort. Additionally, while "amenities include a pool and hot tub," these are reportedly "closed from Labor Day to Memorial Day," which is a significant limitation for guests visiting outside of a very specific seasonal window. This closure information might not be clearly communicated, leading to disappointment for guests expecting to use these facilities. The "loud" radios used by staff and their unmuted conversations in hallways are also a persistent "feature" that negatively impacts the quiet enjoyment of the hotel.
From a promotional standpoint, the Spark by Hilton brand generally promotes a fresh, streamlined, and value-oriented experience, leveraging the Hilton name. While one review attests that for a "quick place to sleep or a place for a longer stay this hotel is it," this positive assessment is heavily overshadowed by the detailed negative experiences. The promise of "clean" rooms and "comfy beds" aligns with typical promotional language. However, the significant issues with the AC/heat system, the seasonal closure of the pool/hot tub, and particularly the disruptive noise from staff radios and conversations, directly contradict the expectation of a restful and comfortable stay. The negative experience with third-party bookings and the perceived lack of hotel accountability also damage the hotel's promotional image, leading a guest to vow "never staying at another Sparks hotel." Any promotional efforts would need to address these critical guest concerns directly. For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," it's crucial to be aware that while the hotel is part of a reputable chain, the specific operational and comfort issues reported are severe. Guests should inquire directly about the AC system's functionality and pool/hot tub availability during their intended stay, especially if booking through third-party sites, to manage expectations. The hotel's affiliation with Hilton Honors would be a standard promotional benefit, offering points to members, but this might not outweigh the reported comfort issues for many travelers.
In conclusion, Spark by Hilton Hummelstown Hershey, located at 84 Sipe Ave, Hummelstown, PA, and reachable at (717) 533-5665, presents a mixed and ultimately concerning picture for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." While some guests found the rooms clean and beds comfortable, appreciating specific design elements like the external sink, these positives are severely undermined by critical issues. The primary comfort concern is the motion-controlled AC/heat system that resets to an uncomfortably warm temperature and cycles throughout the night. Noise from staff radios and conversations in hallways also significantly disrupts sleep. Furthermore, amenities like the pool and hot tub are unavailable for a large portion of the year. Service-wise, a major point of contention is the hotel's perceived lack of accountability and assistance for issues arising from third-party bookings. While a new brand under Hilton, the specific operational and comfort deficiencies reported suggest that potential guests should exercise extreme caution. For anyone prioritizing a quiet, consistently comfortable environment and straightforward customer service, these factors are critical to consider when evaluating this Spark by Hilton property.

Apr 25, 2025 · Addies SpaceWorst hotel I've ever stayed in. Ac/heat is on a motion control. If it doesn't detect movement it turns off and resets to 74°. This is insanely hot. Kept restarting through out the night. Amenities include a pool and hot tub although these are closed from Labor Day to Memorial day. Their staff have radios they use to communicate, that they keep on high volume as they walk around the building through out the night that are so loud. They don't keep their voices down when talking to eachother on the hallway. We got woken up multiple times though out the night. We booked through Priceline and the hotel said essentially it's not their problem because we booked 3rd party. You mean you don't care whatsoever that their post is misleading your customers? I called customer service and got the run around. They took my payment at the hotel. Priceline won't refund me because of this. The hotel won't refund me because the booking was through 3rd party. So I'll never be using Priceline again and never staying at another Sparks hotel. We'd have been better off at a red roof in.
Apr 20, 2025 · Ashley SchiebleWhy Pay More? Finding Exceptional Value Without Sacrificing Comfort' Beyond the welcoming atmosphere, I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the room. It was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, . All the amenities I needed were readily available, and I honestly couldn't fault a thing. So, next time you're planning a trip, remember that you don't necessarily have to break the bank to have a fantastic experience. Look for places that prioritize the basics - clean rooms, comfortable surroundings, and a staff that is pleasant and friendly - like the one I found. You might just be surprised at the exceptional value you discover, and like me, you might start asking yourself, "Why pay more?" You might even be lucky enough to encounter someone like Shanice who goes above and beyond to make your stay truly memorable. Because sometimes, the best travel experiences are the ones that don't leave a dent in your wallet.
Apr 03, 2025 · Karl ZimmermanWhile still under some renovations, I found this hotel to be lovely for the price in Hershey. Stayed in the king suite which was spacious and clean. The lobby area is also nice. I appreciated the continental breakfast and 24/7 coffee.
May 01, 2025 · Jenni ButlerI brought my dog with me and asked for a quiet spot because he can bark sometimes. The gentleman at the front desk was accommodating and we got a really good sleep bark free. 10/10 service.
