The rooms were nice but the housekeeping and breakfast were terrible. We were there 3 nights and had to call each day to have housekeeping bring fresh towels and clean our room. One day we got back, new towels had been put in the room but the rest of the room hadn’t been cleaned. We had to call at 7 pm to when we had returned to our room to have the room cleaned (and that was a challenge in itself). The breakfast was terrible. They didn’t have enough food for everyone staying at the hotel. They were out of the majority of the foods they offered, slow to restock those foods and were even out of coffee all three mornings.
For individuals and families searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant heart of Louisville, Kentucky, the SpringHill Suites Louisville Downtown, located at 132 E Jefferson St, Louisville, KY 40202, USA (phone: (502) 569-7373), often appears as a promising option, particularly given its affiliation with the Marriott brand and its all-suite concept. However, a comprehensive and objective overview, integrating recent guest feedback, reveals a mixed experience that prospective visitors should consider.
This central placement makes it highly convenient for convention attendees, sports fans, concert-goers, and tourists eager to explore Louisville's cultural and entertainment offerings without relying heavily on transportation. The hotel also boasts easy access from major highways. The immediate surroundings are characterized by urban development, with other hotels, businesses, and entertainment venues. While the location is generally praised for its convenience, some reviews suggest that the surrounding area can experience issues typical of a bustling downtown, such as potential noise or, in isolated instances, concerns about cleanliness in the vicinity. The hotel does offer on-site self-parking for a daily fee (around $19), which is a common charge for downtown properties.
The hotel advertises a complimentary buffet breakfast, a hallmark of the SpringHill Suites brand. This typically includes hot items like eggs and sausage, as well as waffles, cereals, pastries, and beverages. Other general hotel amenities include an indoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center, meeting rooms, and a convenience store/sundry shop. The property also offers express check-in/check-out, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities (coin-operated). For guests with mobility needs, the hotel provides accessibility features such as wheelchair-accessible rooms, bathrooms, and public areas.
However, recent customer reviews highlight significant inconsistencies in the delivery of these services and the condition of some amenities. Specifically:
However, the aforementioned issues with cleanliness and service significantly detract from these intended features. While the hotel aims to be family-friendly with cribs/infant beds and rollaway beds available, the reported environmental conditions could make it less suitable for families with young children, as expressed by one reviewer who chose to leave due to the smell and lack of cleanliness with a toddler present. The hotel is noted to be smoke-free throughout, which makes the reported "weed" smell particularly concerning if accurate. Service animals are welcome, but pets are not allowed.
However, the recent reviews present a stark contrast to this promotional image. For potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," it is crucial to weigh the advantages of the excellent location and the brand's general reputation against the serious and recurring complaints about cleanliness, maintenance, and breakfast service. While some guests still report positive experiences with friendly staff and clean rooms, the consistency of negative feedback regarding fundamental aspects of hospitality suggests that the hotel may not always deliver on its brand promise. One customer noted that the hotel was "way pricey for the type of the experience it offers," and felt the pictures online "don’t paint an honest picture of the condition of the rooms and the toilet." Prospective guests are strongly advised to consult the most current reviews across multiple platforms and consider calling the hotel directly to inquire about their specific concerns regarding room conditions and service availability before booking, particularly if traveling with family or for an important event where consistent quality is paramount.

May 10, 2025 · Stacie CarrollWe’re doing a road trip and visited Louisville. We booked the hotel in the car. When we arrived at the hotel, it was 8:30 pm and the city had a tornado watch beginning at 9-10 pm. We were glad that we were off the road and safe in a hotel from the tornado. We have a toddler and we were driving from Memphis so we were all very tired. As soon as we entered the hotel, there was a really bad smell. I ignored it and we headed upstairs to our room. But I couldn’t ignore the stench any longer. If you ask me to describe the smell, it would be a mix between weed, BO or sweat, and toilet smell. It was just really bad and unbearable especially the weed with a 3 year old child in that environment. The room was falling apart, there were stains on the toilet and stains on the beds, the sheets didn’t seem clean and the carpet had a horrible stench wafting from it. The carpet was sticky and had a weird texture even my toddler was saying the carpet is really dirty and wouldn’t step on it. We were shocked because we have stayed at many Spring Hill locations prior to this and we have never faced this before. Our experience has always been excellent, no complains except for maybe the AC being way too close to the bed to the point of we cannot occupy it as the cold air blasts directly on you. My only mistake is that we didn’t really do a full research on this hotel, I booked it because we’ve always stayed at Spring Hill before and never faced an issue before. We spoke to the front desk who informed us that their cleaning staff is unavailable and she can offer us an air freshener to spray on the carpet for the smell. But we couldn’t stay there with my toddler and expose him to the weed. We packed up our bags and left even though there was a tornado about to touch down any minute and drove to another Marriott hotel nearby. We didn’t get a refund either for the night, and this is so upsetting because we paid way too much for what was worth. The hotel is way pricey for the type of the experience it offers. And I feel like the pictures on the apps and websites don’t paint an honest picture of the condition of the rooms and the toilet. A very disappointing experience nonetheless! Would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it.
Apr 03, 2025 · Mahrukh AghaWe had an event close to the convention center, and this location was perfect. It is within walking distance and has many locations for eating and attractions nearby. You still have mild noise from the traffic, but it is expected. The rooms were huge and spacious and clean. The service was phenomenal and offered to assist us in any way. The cost was affordable, especially with the size group we had.
Feb 14, 2025 · Shayla SadlerWe loved our stay! It was super convenient, right by KICC. Everything was clean and nice, comfy beds. Lisa was amazing, such a warm welcome after our long drive from Georgia – a real lifesaver! The restaurant she recommended was incredible. She was awesome! We'd totally stay again.
Mar 02, 2025 · Jeanita DemchakDecent location downtown. Walkable to restaurants and venues. Homeless line the street outside of the parking deck. Rooms are renovated but poorly executed (carpet coming up in corner, ceiling in bathroom cracked and coming apart with water stains, crooked fixtures on walls, old beds that are loud and can feel the springs, tvs have not been upgrade) and the halls have not been touched- gives cheap motel vibes. My TV had issues and was incredibly dark. No way to adjust brightness setting- told the front desk and they said they would send someone up. I left for dinner and I’m not sure if they did or not but it wasn’t fixed. No sorry or option to change rooms. Probably the worst breakfast I’ve experienced in a long time. Not expecting 5 star but the “eggs” were inedible. Certainly a different product than other comparable properties serve. I’m Titanium Elite and rack up between 90-120 stays a year with work (probably 50% at Springhill Suites across the country). This property missed the mark. Elite status wasn’t recognized at check in, and in my experience that’s a pretty solid sign that the property isn’t going be up to Marriott standards. Correct again.
