We stayed in the "west" building, the room was dated but clean and comfortable, fully stocked with a kitchen supplying all the basic needs. It was a short walk to the restaurant which was great, both breakfast and dinner was perfect. The downstairs pool was nice, especially being 9 feet deep so kids can safely jump. The main building was modern, the 2 water slides were age appropriate. The area did reach capacity quickly so calling ahead and getting on a wait list is encouraged. There is an adult bar which is always good if that's your kinda thing.

These range from standard hotel rooms and studios to spacious one- and two-bedroom suites and townhouse-style units. Many accommodations are designed with comfort and convenience in mind, often featuring:

  • Fully Equipped Kitchens: Many suites and townhouses include full kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, ideal for self-catering, as noted by a customer review. Even standard hotel rooms often come with mini-fridges and microwaves.

  • Fireplaces: Select units feature gas or wood-burning fireplaces, adding a cozy ambiance, particularly during the colder months.

  • Whirlpool Tubs: Some rooms and suites offer two-person whirlpool tubs for a luxurious touch.

  • Balconies or Patios: Numerous accommodations include private balconies or patios, providing guests with direct access to the resort's stunning views of the lakes and mountains.

  • Entertainment: Flat-screen TVs with cable channels are standard, and the resort also offers gaming systems like X-Box Kinect and Wii U in the lobby.

Beyond the rooms, key features of the resort include:

  • Extensive Pool Complex: The highlight is undoubtedly the comprehensive indoor and outdoor pool facilities, including waterslides for children and a Roman spa. As noted by a review, the area can reach capacity quickly, so calling ahead for pool access is recommended.

  • 9-Hole Executive Golf Course: Guests can enjoy a complimentary round of golf on the executive course.

  • Outdoor Activities: A range of activities are available on the 500-acre property, such as tennis courts, basketball courts, horseshoes, hiking and snowshoeing trails, ice skating (weather permitting), and a private fishing pond.

Promotional Information and Considerations

Steele Hill Resort actively promotes itself as "The Lakes Region's Family Resort" and an ideal destination for "Spectacular Views, Unforgettable Memories." Promotional materials often highlight its award-winning amenities, spacious accommodations, and its natural setting within the Lakes Region. The resort frequently offers packages and specials, which can be inquired about by calling their reservation lines at (855) 706-7233 or +1 855-706-7233. They also emphasize their suitability for various events, including family vacations, celebrations, conferences, and weddings.

For local users searching under "Hotels Near Of Me," Steele Hill Resort's comprehensive offerings make it a strong contender. Its location provides a convenient escape without requiring extensive travel. During promotional periods, they may offer discounted ski tickets to nearby mountains like Gunstock, Loon, and Waterville Valley, appealing to winter sports enthusiasts. They also host special events, such as "A Brew With a View" beerfest, adding to the resort's appeal as a local attraction.

However, it is important to provide an objective view by considering customer feedback. Some reviews indicate that while the rooms are generally clean and comfortable, some in the "west" building have been described as "dated" and "musty smelling." Another review mentioned that "pipes burst our last night and had no water into the next day," highlighting a potential issue with infrastructure. While the resort is described as "luxury," some guests did "not get those vibes at all" due to the dated appearance. This suggests that while the amenities are extensive, the aesthetic in some areas might not align with modern luxury expectations. It's also noted that there might not be "much to do if raining" beyond the indoor pool facilities, which can reach capacity quickly. Therefore, guests should manage expectations regarding the decor of older buildings and be prepared for potential high usage of popular amenities. Despite these points, many guests praise the great views, friendly staff, and the overall family-friendly atmosphere, suggesting a positive experience for many visitors. The on-site restaurant generally receives positive comments regarding the food quality, although some find it expensive.

In conclusion, Steele Hill Resort offers a robust and activity-filled experience in the heart of the New Hampshire Lakes Region. Its vast natural environment, diverse range of accommodations with self-catering options, and extensive amenities like multiple pools, a golf course, and a full-service spa, make it a compelling choice for those looking for "Hotels Near Of Me." While some older sections might be dated, the overall offering of panoramic views and abundant recreational opportunities positions it as a strong option for a family-friendly vacation or a relaxing retreat.

Not much to do if raining. Pipes burst our last night and had no water into the next day. It's described as luxury, but did not get those vibes at all. It is also quite dated. Very musty smelling. Great views though when weather is good and is pretty secluded.

Bought in 12 years ago. They keep it maintained, and the views can't be beat. Good place for young kids. We use it less and less as the kids get older because of sports and commitments. So if you are interested in becoming an owner and are looking for a steep discount, contact me! They don't tell you that you can transfer the ownership. Make the next 12yrs full of memories for you and yours.

Stairs for days…. I was recently there on there pathway vacation promotion ( you get a discounted rate for a short stay if you agree to listen to a “1 hour” sales pitch/tour on there program) check in was 4 in the evening on a Sunday and check out by 10 on Tuesday. Our meetings took about 2 hours and you had to stay for all of it even after the sales agent completed his pitch and we said no we still had to sit for the manager to come over and run the numbers and try again to get us to agree. Now I’m not really upset to much by that they are doing there jobs and we did get our stay for a steel. As on Sunday check in was late and we were tiered we decided to try the hilltop restaurant it was over priced and not worth it( I had the half roast chicken it was not a half it was a leg and some weird nubby thing the parties and vegetables had no flavor, my wife had the pork chop that did have flavor but was not cooked all the way and her potatoes and veg also had no flavor. We did the app sampler and it was very small and again no flavor), on our last night we did stop by the bar( tavern) for a drink and I did have a grilled cheese and tomato soup that was not half bad ( on a plus note our bartender was amazing and she almost made up for the tasteless food). The servers were great. I did try both pool areas they were pretty good. The room spacious however there were stains on the bed sprees, black scuff marks on the wall, the toilet did not want to flush and it looks like the had a bad floor board in the bathroom and instead of replacing it they cut out the bad part and put a new piece in the problem with that is it was put in the wrong way and did not meet the edges of the original board. The view from the room was amazing. Overall the stay was mediocre. As they were trying to sell us on buying into a vacation membership you would think they would have use stay in a member room ( which during the tour we did get to see and they were very well maintained and a significant upgrade from our accommodations).

The resort itself was quiet and relaxing with great views. The drive to the resort was a bit long up a dirt road. More activities during our stay would have been nice but we found things to do and had a great time!
