Upon arriving to check in at 9:30pm the room was not ready. I was told it was being cleaned and it would be a 5 minute wait, more like 30 minutes. A woman comes out to give me the key card. She than stated that its one of the new rooms and to not mess it up & please don't smoke. I told her we're only here to sleep! Once we got upstairs to the room the same woman was coming out of the room and as we were going in she stated again its a new room OKAY! I don't know what she thought we would do to it?! Anyway....The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Based on service I don't recommend this place and wouldn't stay there again.
Welcome to the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category, designed to help you discover convenient and accessible accommodation options in your vicinity. Today, we're taking an objective look at Super 8 by Wyndham Gloucester, located at 1200 Crescent Blvd, Gloucester City, NJ 08030, USA. This introduction aims to provide a comprehensive overview based on publicly available information and customer feedback, covering its environment, services, features, and any relevant promotional details.
Super 8 by Wyndham Gloucester is a budget-friendly hotel option situated in Gloucester City, New Jersey. Its location on Crescent Blvd suggests easy access for travelers arriving by car, potentially being close to major roadways, which is a common characteristic for many Super 8 properties that cater to road trippers and those seeking convenient overnight stays. The surrounding environment is typical of a motel-style establishment, often characterized by parking directly outside rooms or in a common lot, and proximity to dining or retail establishments that serve travelers.
When considering the environment, Super 8 by Wyndham properties generally aim to provide a straightforward and functional lodging experience. The exterior typically reflects the brand's standard design, focusing on practicality over elaborate aesthetics. The immediate vicinity of the hotel might include other commercial businesses, gas stations, or fast-food restaurants, offering convenience for guests' immediate needs. While specific details about the neighborhood's ambiance are not readily available, it can be inferred that it caters to travelers looking for a quick stopover rather than a resort-like retreat.
In terms of services, Super 8 by Wyndham Gloucester advertises standard amenities often associated with economy hotels. These typically include a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi, and often a complimentary breakfast. The hotel's phone number is (856) 290-7249 and mobile phone +1 856-290-7249, suggesting direct contact for reservations or inquiries. However, based on recent customer reviews, there have been some discrepancies regarding the availability and quality of advertised services. One review specifically mentions the absence of a continental breakfast, free coffee, a functional lobby for sitting, a business center, and on-site laundry, all of which were reportedly advertised on their webpage. This indicates that potential guests should verify the current status of specific amenities directly with the hotel prior to booking.
Regarding features, Super 8 by Wyndham Gloucester generally aims to provide basic comforts for a night's stay. Rooms are typically equipped with beds, a television, and a private bathroom. The recent customer feedback, however, paints a mixed picture. While one guest described a room as "nice, clean, and comfortable," another detailed significant issues. These issues included a "musty dank moist room," a lingering mark on the mirror from a previous guest, visible damage to doors, paint splatters, and a poorly functioning television with limited channels. The bathroom was described as having a large hole in the door, a pre-clogged toilet with a broken flusher, and a shower with rust, sharp metal, low water pressure, and lukewarm water. A broken hairdryer and non-functional coffee maker were also noted. This suggests considerable variability in room condition and upkeep. On a positive note, the Wi-Fi was described as "decent" and "speedy," allowing for streaming and downloading, which is a crucial feature for many modern travelers.
Promotional information, as gleaned from the customer reviews, indicates that the hotel claims certain amenities on its webpage that may not be present or fully functional in reality. For instance, "PREMIUM TV W/HBO" was mentioned as a feature that was not delivered, with guests reporting only a few antenna channels. Similarly, the existence of a business center and on-site laundry facilities was disputed. It's important for prospective guests to be aware that the actual experience might differ from advertised features. The hotel also requires a deposit, which one reviewer stated was $40, an important detail for budgeting. The pricing, around $100 a night according to a review, places it in the budget hotel category, but the value proposition is heavily influenced by the actual condition of the rooms and services provided.
In summary, Super 8 by Wyndham Gloucester positions itself as an affordable and convenient option for travelers in Gloucester City. While the Super 8 brand generally promises a no-frills, straightforward stay, recent customer experiences highlight significant inconsistencies in room quality, service delivery, and the accuracy of advertised amenities. Potential guests utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform should approach a booking here with an understanding that while the location might be convenient and the price point attractive, it is crucial to manage expectations regarding the level of comfort, maintenance, and available services. Direct communication with the hotel to confirm specific needs and amenities is strongly recommended before making a reservation to ensure a satisfactory stay.

Feb 15, 2025 · Jessica PastranaAwful hotel, for demanding about 100 $ a night you could and should spend your hard earned money elsewhere. First off much of what is said on the 2025 webpage they host is a lie, not misrepresenting or error but is pure bs. First off amenities, contental breakfast, nope, free coffee nope, lobby you can enter and sit in. Nope lobby is closed off, Business center ? Which to my experience is a couple computers one can use if staying at hotel. No, On site laundry.... And no... PRENIUM TV W/HBO, more like antenna TV with 10 channels no Hd. Idk what makes a place 2 stars but I'd give this place -2 stars. Entering the room and you can tell management stoped caring or trying maybe 10 to 15 years ago. You enter a musty dank moist room and cringe at what must have taken place here. Their is an I love you written on the mirror by some previous guest still there.. also clearly. The doors have been kicked in possibly several times. The bathroom door has a large hole in it you can see threw. Through out the room things are splashed with paint. Like the door. Who knows why. The tv. Cable hangs in front on the screen I guess to improve the already horrible signal which takes you back to the 90s. Which is likely when most of the cheap furniture was purchased, the bed, lumpy, and 2 flat pillows. No coffee maker in room as advertised hair dryer is broken, not that I would suggest risking turning it on given the state of the outlets. PREMIUM TOILET, comes pre-clogged, with bonus broken flusher requireing one to remove the lid and pull the chain to use it. If you'r not regretting getting a room at the super 8 Gloucester then just wait till you see the shower. First off the tub is 2 tone, wait it's 3 tone! Theirs a nice random spots of paint and a beautiful ring of rust with sharp metal to cuet your feet should you risk using the shower, I know I wasn't gonna . Then firing up the water. Givea you a trickle of lukewarm water which shoots straight down. Clearly the pressure is very low or the line is clogged. The max temp of the water in either the sink or shower is just warm. Don't worry about being burned id say it tops at 90 f. Probably for safety reasons. Haha. By now your considering going to the front, um .. window and demanding a refund. You were hoping to watch some tv, and upon turning that on you were stunned to see static and idk why premium tv service comes with say 15 channels but I'd recommend switching providers. The ancient remote wich clearly isn't the one that came with the tv, hardly functions, and is very dirty. The channel up and volume buttons don't work. And the remote feels sticky. The laundry does exist, but is locked away. The wifi is decent id say, but does drop a few times. Though each drop was short maybe 10 mins. Then it comes back. Typical of budget hotels. Id say it's the only redeeming quality, the wifi is speedy, you can stream and download. Which is good because you'll find premium TV with out HBO is rather boring. And. I say without because it's another "amenity" they claim on their website. Which is a blatant lie. In positive Wyndham doesn't inspect the chains or franchises they put their name on if they did I'm sure they would not be happy . So either Wyndham doesn't really care about guest satisfaction and the Wyndham name means nothing, unlike Hilton which still means quality. Or Wyndham does know and can't do anything about it. Either one shows one should not equate wyndham with quality . I sure don't, anymore. Management here clearly is held to no standard of service, nor do they care to take any pride in their work. Id be willing to bet theirs Far worse problems here they just tape over and forget until the next guest complains this has been the method for years and if shows. L I would have gotten a refund if I could but since I checked in I knew they would give me a hard time, then just refund half then room fee, which is the standard around here. I could have gotten a much nicer room with 100% working for less then this dump. Oh to top it all expect a 40 dollar deposit. Never again.
Mar 29, 2025 · Tee TarPlease do NOT stay at this Super 8 Hotel under NO curcumstances; as it poses life-threatening health concerns. More so, it is under the leadership of a manager who lacks civility, empathy, and any real concern for the health, safety and wellbeing of the hotel's patrons. I encourage anyone reading this review to demand that the Department of Public Health and all other local, state and federal regulatory agencies whom are committed to public health and safety, perform indepth assessment of the hotel's general facilities, including systems (plumbing, electrical, etc), staff and products that are shared used/consumed among patrons (towels, refrigerators, beds, etc). Furthermore, urge them to fine, sanction and potentially close down this Super 8 Hotel until it is safe and sanitary for public use. ***This place has a serious pest infestation (mice, bed bugs and roaches) ****Disease causing bacteria, virus, fungi and parasites in/on shared items ****Blood on walls, floor and on bed sheets ****Black mold If these concens aren't troubling enough, the doors to the guest rooms don't lock and the staff will not provide basic hotel provided items such as soap, shampoo, toilet tissue, and bath towels. House keeping refuse to make beds, replace used towels and clean sinks/bathtubs. In closing, help yourself and stay away from this Super 8 Hotel, but please do get involved in its quality improvement. Many people do not feel that they can help, but you can. Remember, you can call governmental offices and encourage them to perform comprehensive site reviews and ongoing monitoring of the hotel's practices, policies, operating systems, and all items distributed and used by patrons. Request a timeline and monthly updates about the hotel's quality improvement progress and/or timeline for temporary suspension or permanent closing.
Dec 31, 2024 · DLH NameDO NOT STAY AT THIS SCAM OF A HOTEL!!!! Note, I am not a Karen, I never write negative reviews and prefer to just let people be if they’re doing their best…but this place needs to be closed down. This was genuinely the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying in. Please don’t waste your money. When I arrived to check in, nobody was in the office to even check me in so I was just standing in the parking lot waiting. (The lobby is never opened, they talk to you out a window which might just tell you something about the area.) There is no breakfast, fitness center, or lobby, so the hotel is blatantly misrepresenting itself in its booking description. But the state of the room was the worst part: the “nonsmoking” room wreaked of smoke as soon as I walked in. The towels had three dimensional crud on them, meaning they’d not been washed. These were not lingering stains. In the shower, someone had apparently been shaving or trimming their pubes all over the walls, which was never cleaned. The only bar of soap provided was also used with said pubes stuck all over it. The air conditioner didn’t work. There was someone else’s old gross food in the mini fridge. I went to the desk/window to try to request some address for these issues, whether a change of room, clean linens, or most ideally having my second day of my stay canceled. But at the times I went to find someone, I couldn’t find anyone at all. I called the Super 8 chain management and unfortunately, they referred the issue back to the location. The manager is conveniently never reachable and never calls back. In summary, I wasted my money for the worst hotel on earth where the amenities advertised were a mix of nonexistent or unusable (due to being horrifically disgusting/uncleaned/broken). A combination of dishonesty and horrible service. Truly the stuff of nightmares. The place should close. Please don’t stay here, you’d be better sleeping in your own clean car…
Sep 23, 2024 · Frances BoorseI would not advise staying at this hotel. We stayed here overnight to be close to the city to go to the Philadelphia Eagle Super Bowl Parade the next day. I felt very vulnerable and unsafe in our room. The area was very sketchy and the hotel is very poorly lit and dirty.
