Hello, fellow Tennesseans! When you're planning a trip to Nashville, whether it's for a quick getaway, a family vacation, or an extended stay, the idea of a place that feels like home – but with all the excitement of Music City just a short distance away – can be incredibly appealing. That's precisely what you'll find at The Charlesville in Nashville. Located at 700 4th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219, USA, The Charlesville offers a unique and welcoming alternative to traditional hotels, providing spacious, apartment-style accommodations that are perfect for those seeking comfort, convenience, and a quieter retreat within the bustling city.
The Charlesville is renowned for its residential feel, providing guests with the amenities of an apartment complex while operating as a rental property. This setup means you get more space, the convenience of a full kitchen, and often a private balcony, allowing for a more relaxed and self-sufficient stay. Guests consistently praise it as a "nice place" that’s "clean" and offers "a nice balcony." If you're looking for a comfortable base that balances proximity to Nashville's hotspots with a peaceful environment for unwinding, The Charlesville might just be your ideal spot in Music City. Let's dive into what makes this establishment a great choice for locals and visitors alike.
The location of The Charlesville at 700 4th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219, USA, offers a strategic advantage for visitors to Nashville. It sits between the charming historic Germantown neighborhood and the lively downtown core, providing a "safe location" and a "quieter area" compared to the immediate hustle and bustle of Broadway.
While some downtown properties put you right in the thick of the noise, The Charlesville offers a pleasant buffer. Guests describe Broadway as "probably a 3/4 mile walk" from the property. This distance means you can "walk everywhere we needed or wanted to go" – including the famous honky-tonks, live music venues, and attractions – but also ensures you're "far enough to enjoy a night's sleep." For those who prefer not to walk, ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are "readily available from this location," offering an "inexpensive ride-share from Nashville best attractions."
Beyond Broadway, The Charlesville offers excellent access to other significant Nashville landmarks. It's "near the Triple-A ballpark" (First Horizon Park, home of the Nashville Sounds baseball team) and the "Capitol area" (Tennessee State Capitol), which are "nice perk" for sports fans and those interested in local history and governance. The proximity to the "Farmers Market for good lunch options" is another major benefit, allowing guests to easily enjoy fresh, local food.
While a reviewer noted a "block stretch where it appeared a little unsafe" when walking back from Broadway at night, especially for solo female or elderly travelers, the "actual building and surrounding area appear quite safe." This indicates that while general urban caution is always advised, the immediate vicinity of The Charlesville is secure, and the slight distance from the most active nightlife areas contributes to its overall quieter ambiance. The availability of "one parking space included in the garage" is a significant advantage in downtown Nashville, providing both convenience and safety for those traveling by car.
The Charlesville operates with a focus on self-sufficiency and comfort, providing apartment-style amenities and services that enhance an extended or short-term stay.

As an apartment-style rental property, The Charlesville generally operates through booking platforms (like Airbnb, Vrbo, Expedia, etc.) rather than offering direct hotel-style promotions. However, there are still ways to find potential savings or value-added aspects for your stay:
Longer Stay Discounts: Units available for rent, like those at The Charlesville, often provide reduced nightly rates for extended bookings (e.g., weekly or monthly stays). If you're planning a longer visit to Nashville, inquire about these potential discounts on the booking platforms.
Off-Season Rates: Prices typically fluctuate based on demand. Visiting during Nashville's quieter periods (e.g., certain weekdays, or outside of major event seasons) can often result in lower rental rates.
Direct Booking Platform Specials: Keep an eye on the specific booking website (e.g., Airbnb, Vrbo) that lists The Charlesville units. These platforms frequently have their own site-wide promotions, loyalty programs, or discounts for first-time users that could apply to your booking.
Included Parking: While not a "promotion" in the traditional sense, the fact that "one parking space included in the garage" is a significant value add, as downtown parking can be costly. This can be a major saving compared to hotels that charge daily for parking.
Value of In-Unit Amenities: The full kitchen and washer/dryer, while standard features of the units, offer considerable savings compared to relying solely on restaurants and laundromats/hotel laundry services. This inherent value proposition is a key benefit.
To secure the best available rates, it's advisable to compare prices across different booking platforms for your desired dates and to book in advance, especially during peak Nashville seasons.

For Tennesseans, The Charlesville offers a compelling and highly suitable option for a Nashville stay, whether it's for a relaxed "staycation," hosting out-of-town friends and family, or needing a comfortable, extended base in the city. Its unique apartment-style setup provides benefits that often surpass what traditional hotels can offer, making it an excellent value for locals.
The key appeal lies in the feeling of a "home away from home." With "spacious" 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condos featuring "fully equipped kitchen" and "in-unit washer and dryer," you have the freedom and convenience to live as you would in your own home. This means saving money by cooking some meals, packing lighter, and enjoying separate living spaces – ideal for families with children, couples traveling together, or anyone desiring more room to spread out. The inclusion of "one parking space in the garage" is a significant advantage, eliminating the common stress and expense of downtown parking for locals driving in.
Furthermore, The Charlesville's location strikes a perfect balance. It's a "nice, quiet place to stay" and a "very safe location," offering a peaceful retreat from the relentless energy of Broadway, yet it’s still easily accessible. The "3/4 mile walk" to Broadway makes it a pleasant stroll, and ride-shares are readily available. Its proximity to the Nashville Sounds ballpark, the Capitol, and especially the Nashville Farmers Market provides unique local perks for daytime exploration without venturing into the busiest tourist hubs.
While one reviewer mentioned needing "earplugs for sleeping" due to nearby train noise, and a small section of the walk from Broadway felt "a little unsafe" at night for some, these are minor considerations compared to the overall comfort, safety within the building, and immense value The Charlesville offers. It's a "great option to stay in Nashville," especially for those who prioritize a "quieter area" and the comforts of a full apartment, making it a highly recommended choice for Tennesseans seeking an authentic yet convenient Nashville experience.

May 03, 2025 · Aaron ArmstrongNice, quiet place to stay. Very safe location, however walking back from Broadway at night there was probably a block stretch where it appeared a little unsafe. I was traveling in a pack in a group of 20- something guys, so I felt fine. However, I would have slight concern if I were female or elderly. The rest of the walk felt safe! It is important to note that Broadway is probably a 3/4 mile walk. The actual building and surrounding area appear quite safe. Interesting set up because it feels as if it is a residential apartment complex, but I believe it is entirely rentals. One parking space included in the garage was nice and safe. Extra parking spots can be found nearby, although the recommended one was tricky to find and has a max of 24 hour stay. The unit itself was clean and came with a couple of nice touches, such as soap and limited cookware. Our unit also had a nice balcony. All outlets worked and the WiFi worked great on my phone and chromebook. The location is near the Triple- A ballpark and Capitol area, which was a nice perk. Be sure to check out the Farmers Market for good lunch options. Overall, the Charlesville is a great option to stay in Nashville, especially those looking for a quieter area and don’t mind a longer walk/ cost of an Uber from Broadway.
May 30, 2021 · Noah LegenskiSpent 2 nights here and have to say was very happy with everything, group of 6 were able to fit comfortably with the 2 queen beds and 1 pull out. Also very close to the down town area which made getting to and from bars a breeze.
Jul 25, 2021 · Bart PonickiNice apartments on the inside, but the train tracks across from apartments were very busy and kept us awake at night.
Nov 28, 2019 · Dana ObryanHighly recommend this place to stay. Very clean. Loved the set-up and location. Very close to everything downtown.
