My second review in less than 24 hours — that’s how bad this experience has been. We are a family of four: my husband and I, our teenage son, and a baby. First, let me say: this was not my hotel choice. We’re here because my son has basketball tournaments nearby. The hotel is extremely dated — and while I understand that’s supposed to be the “theme,” at this point everything just feels old, worn out, and dingy. At check-in, we requested to switch rooms because the mini-fridge in the first room hadn’t been cleaned. We were moved to the 15th floor — and unfortunately, it wasn’t any better. The room was still outdated, with two beds barely larger than a twin (definitely not full-size). My husband and I could barely fit, and we’re both on the thinner side. The television? Turns on, but that’s about it. No Netflix or streaming options — just an old, outdated screen. Now for the worst part: Around 3 AM, my husband needed to use the bathroom — and discovered that there was no running water. None. At all. On top of that, a loud, fire drill-like noise was blaring from the ice machine area in the hallway. My husband went down to the front desk — and no one was there. Eventually, someone appeared from the back, looking like they had just woken up. The phones were ringing nonstop, and instead of answering them properly, she picked up and slammed them down repeatedly. We were informed that a pipe had burst. Now it’s almost 8 AM, and still no water, still the loud noise, and we need to get ready for a basketball tournament — with no way to shower, brush teeth, or even use the bathroom.

The Claridge Hotel Introduce

For those exploring options under "Hotels Near Of Me" in Atlantic City, New Jersey, The Claridge Hotel, located at 123 S Indiana Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, USA, stands as a distinctive choice. This historic establishment offers a unique blend of vintage charm and modern amenities, positioning itself as a potentially value-driven option on the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk. Direct inquiries and reservations can be made by calling (844) 224-7386 or +1 844-224-7386.

The Claridge Hotel's environment is its most defining characteristic. Built in 1929, it holds a significant place in Atlantic City's history, once known as "The Skyscraper by the Sea." This heritage is deeply ingrained in its "theme," offering guests a glimpse into the city's glamorous past. Its location is highly advantageous for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," as it's centrally situated on the boardwalk. This provides immediate access to the beach, the ocean, and numerous attractions, including casinos like Bally's and Caesars, as well as entertainment venues, shops, and restaurants. The surrounding area on S Indiana Avenue is vibrant, characteristic of Atlantic City's main tourist district, with constant activity and pedestrian traffic. While its historic nature is a draw, some guests note that the hotel, while aiming for a "themed" experience, can feel "extremely dated," "old, worn out, and dingy," suggesting that the balance between historic charm and modern comfort might not always meet contemporary expectations for all travelers.

The building itself is a landmark, a tall structure that offers impressive views of the ocean or the city, depending on the room's orientation. The exterior retains its classic architectural grandeur. Inside, the common areas, including the lobby and restaurants, aim to evoke a sense of its rich past. However, customer feedback suggests that while these areas are "maintained," the "decor is quite outdated," leading some to question if it's "charming anymore" or if it feels "a bit haunted." Despite this, the central location on the boardwalk and its historical significance remain core elements of its environment and appeal.

Regarding services, The Claridge Hotel provides a range of offerings designed to cater to various guest needs. As a hotel, its primary service is accommodation in guest rooms. However, reviews indicate that room conditions can be inconsistent. While some rooms are described as "clean," others mention issues like mini-fridges not being cleaned and rooms feeling "outdated." Bed sizes are also a point of concern for some, with "two beds barely larger than a twin (definitely not full-size)." In-room entertainment appears basic, with televisions turning on but lacking modern streaming options. The hotel also seems to offer Wi-Fi, which is a standard amenity in modern hotels.

Beyond the rooms, The Claridge Hotel features several amenities. These often include multiple dining options, such as restaurants and possibly a rooftop bar, allowing guests to dine and socialize on-site. The presence of a "weed store" nearby, accessible without stepping outside, as mentioned in a review, speaks to its central urban location and the evolving landscape of local businesses. For meetings and events, the hotel likely has facilities given its size and history. However, some critical service issues have been reported, such as instances of no running water due to burst pipes and unresponsive or overwhelmed front desk staff during emergencies. Elevator speed is also noted as a recurring issue ("elevators are slow"), which can be a significant inconvenience in a high-rise hotel. Conversely, some positive feedback highlights that "employees are nice" and there's "never a line for check in," suggesting that positive interactions are also possible.

Key features of The Claridge Hotel that make it stand out as a "Hotels Near Of Me" option include its historic status and its prime boardwalk location. For travelers who appreciate history and the unique character of older buildings, The Claridge offers a different experience compared to modern chain hotels. Its central position allows for easy walking access to casinos, the beach, and the boardwalk. Another notable feature is its resort fee. One review specifically highlights that the "$18/night resort fee is less than half the other resorts," which can contribute to overall savings, especially for budget-conscious travelers. The hotel also mentions availability of street parking nearby, though its own parking is noted as "overpriced." While specific recreational facilities like pools or fitness centers are not detailed in the provided reviews, older, larger hotels like The Claridge often have such amenities, which guests would need to confirm directly. The hotel's ability to offer rooms that are generally "clean," despite being outdated, is a functional feature that might appeal to some guests.

Promotional information for The Claridge Hotel, when appearing in "Hotels Near Of Me" searches, would likely emphasize its historic charm, central boardwalk location, and potentially competitive pricing, particularly regarding its lower resort fee. While specific discounts or packages are not provided, hotels of this nature often offer seasonal rates, special packages for extended stays, or deals for specific events or conferences in Atlantic City. Guests should utilize the provided phone numbers, (844) 224-7386 or +1 844-224-7386, to inquire directly about the most current offers, including any promotions for direct bookings. However, potential guests are strongly advised to temper their expectations regarding modern amenities and the overall "newness" of the property, as highlighted by customer reviews. It is crucial to clarify specific room details, including bed sizes, and confirm the availability and functionality of all desired amenities prior to booking, especially if booking through third-party sellers, which seem to be a source of misinformation for some guests. The hotel's unique character and potential value proposition are balanced by the need for clear communication and realistic expectations from guests.

In conclusion, The Claridge Hotel at 123 S Indiana Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, USA, offers a distinctive experience for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Atlantic City. Its rich history and prime boardwalk location are significant advantages, providing a unique backdrop for a stay. While it boasts a lower resort fee and is centrally located near key attractions, guests should be aware of the potential for dated decor, inconsistent room conditions, and occasional service interruptions, as described in recent customer feedback. For travelers who appreciate historic charm, value location and a potentially lower overall cost, and are prepared for an experience that differs from modern, newly built hotels, The Claridge Hotel remains a relevant option in Atlantic City.

It's a unique and historic hotel. I enjoy it and have stayed here dozens of times. It's often the best price of hotels on the boardwalk. However there are some things it lacks compared to a modern hotel. The good: The rooms are clean. The $18/night resort fee is less than half the other resorts. The employees are nice and there's never a line for check in. There's lot of street parking nearby. You can walk to a casino, rooftop bar, and weed store without stepping outside. It has a central location on the boardwalk. The bad: The parking is overpriced. Rooms and common areas are maintained but quite outdated decor. I'm not sure that it's charming anymore. The elevators are slow. It feels a bit haunted especially in the lobby and restaurants. You hear too much noise from the other rooms in the hotel.

My family and I stay at this hotel whenever we got to AC. The pool is always working and clean. The location is perfect, in the middle of everything. But Yolanda from security prompted me to write a review, she assisted with a minor situation , but with her efficiency, kindness and wonderful communication; it became a huge positive experience. So thank you, and we will be back for spring break!

This place was nothing like the pictures said it was. All the pictures were out of date and the hotel looked drastically different from how you are lead to think. They also lie about some things in the hotel. In some spots in the hotel, the roof is broken. The room I stayed in had a faulty toilet that constantly made noise. All in all, would definitely not recommend. Do not go here. It is also in a bad area of Atlantic city, so if you do go, be careful.

When my family and I decided to move to Atlantic City, I immediately suggested the Claridge Hotel as a place to stay whilst Condo-hunting. I remembered it fondly from when I saw Frank Sinatra Jr. in concert there back in the 1990s! We were pleased to find out the Sinatra King Suite was available and found out it was quite nice. The hotel is quite spacious and well maintained, including the lounge and pool areas and the excellent fitness room. Highly recommended to anyone who likes classic style with all the modern conveniences. Plus -- Sinatra!
