We used the property for a wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. The little white chapel and the converted stables were perfect for the ceremony and the reception. Mike, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend for your future events.

Location and Accessibility

The Cottage at Grace House Inn is located at 525 Cascade St, Mars Hill, NC 28754, USA. While it provides a tranquil escape, it remains conveniently accessible to a variety of regional attractions.

For those traveling from across North Carolina, Mars Hill is easily reached via major roadways. It's approximately a 25-minute drive to downtown Asheville, making it feasible to enjoy Asheville's vibrant arts, dining, and brewery scenes while returning to a quieter retreat. The property itself, being set within the Grace House Inn estate, likely offers ample parking for guests, a crucial amenity for multi-car groups attending events or families traveling together. Its rural location means less traffic and a more serene environment upon arrival. This balance of being "tucked away" yet connected to larger hubs like Asheville makes The Cottage at Grace House Inn an appealing choice for North Carolina locals seeking a convenient escape to the mountains without feeling completely isolated from popular destinations.

Well maintained, clean, comfortable houses. We went in the summer and the AC was adequate. Only strange thing is that in the barn, you must walk through one bedroom to get to the second. Kitchen is well enough equiped. 3 gas grills. Lots of fridge space.

We (7 families) stayed there for two nights for summer vacation. It was an annoying and horrible experience overall. The renter should have some business ethics to quote a reasonable price for this facility. Dont think you can rent a substandard property for exorbitant cost with some bright pictures. What an overpriced and underserviced facility!!I am listing below the issues and nightmares that we experienced in this facility. 1. There are three houses in the facility and the main house is the one which can accommodate maximum number of guests. There are 5 bedrooms and 4 bedrooms doesn’t have attached washrooms. The unattached washrooms in the outside are very tiny and you can’t even stand properly and take bath. It’s designed only for infants and kids in believe!! 2. On the second day of the trip, the shared washroom in the upper deck got locked from inside for both the doors at 5 am in the morning and two families who shared the washrooms couldn’t use that. There is no mobile signal and the Wi-Fi was not working. We were not able to reach the maintenance and by the time they call us, it’s time to check out for us. We have to come to ground floor to use washrooms. 3. There is no proper walkway between main house and Barn house and the walkway is strewn with loose stones so that it will create maximum injury when you fall. After one of our kids fell and injured with stones, we had to guard the small kids all the time whenever they run from main house to barn house. 4. There is no facilities for kids to play outside barring two half buried old tires and rusty, trash filled swing. Very disappointing for the kids. 5. Two washrooms doesn’t have locks. One in the main house upper deck and the other one in the barn house. 6. The gas stoves in the barn house are very slow and cooking will take years. Since the kitchen in the main house is tiny and the cottage house doesn’t have kitchen, we were forced to use Kitchen in the barn house all the time. Guests in the other houses had to walk on the stone filled pathway every time to reach barn house to eat cooked food. 7. The main house is disorganized to the core like random holes in a tree. Since one washroom locked from the inside and another one doesn’t have locks, the 5 families in the main house forced to use two washrooms and we were in the queue to use the available ones. Very bad experience for anyone. 8. The bright photos in the portal are not matching with the actual and it’s an ordinary facility. 9.**Found one bedbug in the Main house bedroom**. Its scary but its found only in the Mainhouse. There is nothing in the Barn or cottage house Since i was the one who recommended and booked this facility, 6 other friends/families who accompanied me were very upset with me.Worst experience ever had in any other place .Don’t even think of visiting this facility in your lifetime.

This review relates to the service provided by Carolina Mornings (the property management group) during our stay at the Grace House. Our group of 14 rented the Grace House property to enjoy a weekend that culminated with the viewing of a sporting event (on National television). Upon arriving at the Grace House and reviewing the amenities to ensure that we would be able to access the sporting event via television (using the TVs and service provided) we realized that the smart TVs (Roku) did not have sufficient apps installed for us to view the game using our streaming TV service (YouTube TV). Due to a passcode installed on the Roku, we could not add apps to view the game either...understandable. However, upon request for the password or for a service technician to come install the app themselves, we received, short, unprofessional, and unaccommodating responses. Instead of working with us to resolve the issue, or even presenting options to work around the issue, they responded with "template" and "legal" derived responses such as "we provided the amenities that we state are provided", etc. This wasn't even accurate, as the WiFi in the main house and cottage (the Barn is the only WiFi location that worked) did not work due to inaccurate passcodes. - Following Carolina Morning's unwillingness to work with us to resolve these issues, a review was posted online summarizing the incident, for which Carolina Mornings immediately reached out (via phone) and were apologetic for the situation and customer service received. We were grateful and even stated that some dialogue and willingness to work with us is all that we asked. They understood and asked if there was anything else they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. We simply requested that the passcode situation to the WiFi be remedied (we had already resolved the TV issue by purchasing our own smart interface)...the customer service agent then stated "that isn't my department, Ill have to get someone else to help you with that...I will have them call you". Guess how many calls we received? None...the WiFi issue was never resolved and we utilized our phones as hotspots to work and access the internet via our laptops. Not the biggest issue in the world, but disappointing considering how easy a resolution would have been if Carolina Mornings had simply reached out, communicated, and followed up on their own promises. The only reason I am giving the experience two stars (instead of one) is the property itself, which was very enjoyable and suitable for our group. As long as you pay attention to the descriptions of the bedrooms and how the bathrooms are situated, the property itself is very suitable for large groups.
