Words can't describe how much we enjoyed our time at the Hideaway. Our hosts Valda and Chuck are down home Southern folks and a joy to be around. They never invaded our space but when we were up for a visit they were happy to participate. We so enjoyed our time with them laughing and talking. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Valda and Chuck and presented with a brief history of the property and a tour of the pavilion and the Hideaway. There was fresh strawberry homemade ice cream and chocolate chip cookies to greet us as well. This is a wonderful place just to unwind and get away from the crazy world in which we live. If peace, quiet and serenity are what you are seeking then look no further. The Hideaway has a comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen and the best well water you have ever had the pleasure to drink. We spent 90% of our time outside on the large deck relaxing. There is a grill to prepare meals, a fireplace to enjoy a nice fire in peaceful surroundings. We are already planning our next trip to the Hideaway. Do not miss an opportunity to enjoy this amazing place.

This is was our second time staying at the Hideaway and it was just as amazing as our first trip! We just love it here! It’s so peaceful and serene! The cabin has everything you need and you can’t beat the sound of the running creek and the outdoor fireplace! Valda and Chuck are so sweet and personable and make the best hosts! We can’t wait to plan our next trip back! If you like hiking be sure to check out Rocky Fork State Park. For food and drinks we ventured into Johnson City, such a cute little town. The Label Restaurant and Yeehaw Brewery are musts!

My family and I spent the weekend at this cabin, and it was such a fun place to visit! From the creek and trail, to the local cafe's fish fry we enjoyed every minute. The hideaway was just beautiful, and Valda and Chuck could not be sweeter. We told them we would be coming to celebrate my two year old birthday, and she made birthday cupcakes for him! Thanks for a great weekend!

This is our second trip to The Hideaway and once again it was perfection. A deep sadness sets in each time we leave this place and I find myself counting down the days until we can return. The cabin has everything you need for a quiet peaceful weekend. Nestle up on the couch with a pick of the dvds available, or cozy up by the 200 year old fireplace outside. The porch is partially covered giving you plenty of chances to sit in the sun or take cover from the occasional rain shower. The sound of the rain on the tin roof is always an added bonus. The old wagon trail along side the cabin is a perfect little walk each morning or head up to the small field near the driveway to see the deer roaming for the last of the blackberries. The never ending sound of the rushing creek is the perfect lullaby each night to accompany a glass of wine and a good book. My son loved running around and finding the hidden treasures in and around the cabin. Now as for the owners Chuck and Valda, they are truly gems. They will help you with anything you may need during your stay or provide you with detailed history of the grounds. We have visited nearby Rocky Fork to play in the gentle waterfalls and up to Mt. Mitchell’s peak to see the rest of the mountains in all their glory. Did I mention the cabin is pet friendly? Our dog Sadie loved exploring the woods and taking in all the smells. She even enjoyed some supervised off leash time. The Hideaway is just truly perfect in every way. We will be back in the spring!
