My sweetie surprised me with a romantic getaway at The Georgian Terrace so we could enjoy an evening out and head to the Dogwood Festival the next day. Parking in Atlanta is never easy, but thankfully, the hotel offers valet service, which made things simpler. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and check-in was quite a scene – the line stretched across the lobby. It took a while, but my sweetie saved the moment by grabbing me a cold beer, which I happily enjoyed while waiting. One thing that stood out immediately was the stunning architecture. From the lobby, you can look straight up and see the balconies of each floor – a unique and impressive view. Our room was on the 16th floor, offering breathtaking views of downtown Atlanta. Looking down into the lobby from that height was dizzying, in the best way. The elevators were fast and efficient, which I appreciated given the number of guests. I loved how spacious our room felt, with large windows that gave us the perfect cityscape, especially once the sun set and the lights of Atlanta came alive. It really set the mood for a special night. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict – generous portions, so consider sharing if you're not super hungry. Overall, it was a lovely experience and a great spot for a romantic night in the city.

As a prominent establishment within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, The Georgian Terrace appeals to those looking for an experience that transcends a typical stay, offering a sense of history, architectural beauty, and a prime location for cultural immersion and urban exploration.
Let's delve into the environment, services, features, and promotional information that define The Georgian Terrace:
The Georgian Terrace holds a coveted position on Peachtree Street NE, often referred to as "The Grand Dame" of Atlanta's most famous thoroughfare. Its immediate environment is Midtown Atlanta, a dynamic district renowned for its arts, culture, and business hubs. Most notably, the hotel sits directly across the street from the iconic Fox Theatre, making it an ideal choice for theatergoers and event attendees. This proximity means guests can easily walk to shows, as highlighted by a satisfied customer who noted it as a "great place to stay and dine if you're in Atlanta for a show."
The area surrounding the hotel is highly walkable, offering access to numerous dining establishments, coffee shops like Buffalo Bayou Coffee and Livingston Restaurant + Bar (on-site), and cultural institutions. Other major Atlanta attractions such as the Georgia Institute of Technology (a 9-minute walk), World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, and Centennial Olympic Park are within a short drive or easily accessible via nearby MARTA rail stations (North Avenue Station is within walking distance). Despite being in a bustling urban environment, the hotel's presence adds a touch of classic elegance. One guest particularly enjoyed the "breathtaking views of downtown Atlanta" from their 16th-floor room, especially "once the sun set and the lights of Atlanta came alive," emphasizing the captivating cityscape views from the hotel's elevated floors.
Parking, a common concern in downtown areas, is addressed with both self-parking ($45 per night) and valet parking ($55 per night) options, both with in/out privileges, making arrival and departure simpler, as appreciated by a recent guest who found valet service "made things simpler" despite Atlanta's challenging parking. It's worth noting that height restrictions apply for onsite parking (vehicles over 6'6" cannot be accommodated by valet or self-parking garages).
The Georgian Terrace offers a comprehensive suite of services and amenities befitting a 4-star hotel, designed to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay:
The Georgian Terrace is not just a hotel; it's a piece of Atlanta's history. Built in 1911 in the Beaux-Arts style, it was designed as a Southern interpretation of a Parisian hotel, featuring classic architectural details like turreted corners, floor-to-ceiling Palladian-styled windows, and wide wrap-around columned terraces. It has hosted numerous notable individuals, including the cast of "Gone With the Wind" for its premiere gala in 1939, and famous tenor Enrico Caruso. A guest mentioned the "stunning architecture" and the "unique and impressive view" looking straight up from the lobby to the balconies of each floor, highlighting its distinctive design. The hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, signifying a commitment to high standards.
While largely praised for its beauty and location, one review noted that a "two bedroom apartment's kitchen was in need of an update from 1980" and mentioned a non-working coffee maker and insufficient towels ("only three bath towels for four people"), indicating that while the overall experience is grand, some functional aspects in older units might show their age or require attention to detail. This suggests that while the hotel maintains its historic charm, guests might encounter variations in room modernity, particularly in apartment-style accommodations. The hotel is generally well-regarded for its cleanliness, room size, and, notably, its helpful staff and exceptional location, with overall ratings often in the "Excellent" to "Very Good" range (e.g., 8.6/10 on Expedia, 8.2/10 on Booking.com). Guest reviews frequently commend the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, a crucial aspect for a luxury experience. Despite a potentially long check-in line (as mentioned by one guest), the overall sentiment often leans towards a "lovely experience" and a "great spot for a romantic night in the city."
The Georgian Terrace offers various promotions and packages to cater to different guest needs, which can be found on its official website:
For the most current and specific promotions, it is recommended to visit the official website of The Georgian Terrace or contact their reservations team directly at (844) 650-8052 or +1 844-650-8052. This ensures guests receive accurate details and can inquire about any particular needs or preferences before booking their stay at this distinguished Atlanta hotel.

Apr 25, 2025 · Melissa TavillaBeautiful downtown hotel across the street from the Fox Theater. Great place to stay and dine if you're in Atlanta for a show. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was very nice. I gave the room four stars as the apartment's kitchen was in need of an update from 1980. Additionally, the coffee maker didn't work and there were only three bath towels for four people.
May 16, 2025 · John JohnThis was the absolute perfect choice for a hotel when going to a show at the Fox Theatre. Loved the amenities, although we didn’t get to experience them all! They have a cool speakeasy, top-tier restaurant and coffee shop. The location is perfect for all the touristy things too: Coca Cola museum, aquarium, Varsity. You could walk the 0.3 miles to any of them and save on parking. I especially appreciated the kindness and warm welcome we received from Darrah at the front desk. We will be returning!!
