From the minute we walked in to check in, it was horrible. The attitudes and demeanor of the employees were horrible. We reserved 2 rooms 5 months in advance, (2) king-size beds, and a fold out with a complete kitchen and full-size refrigerator for each room. When we arrived, they told us our 2 rooms were not available (booked 5 months prior) they didn't care and were unwilling to arrange any accommodations to help us out. Even though we had reservations, we ended up with 2 small rooms with 2 Queen size beds, no kitchen, no pull out sofa, and no refrigerator. It was the dirtiest room ever. The bathroom was horrible. It looked like it was never cleaned. Hairs on the floor, wallpaper deteriorating, the bath towels had some dark stains on them. To make matters worse, we were woken up at 9am by a "housekeeper" who said, "Are you staying here? U need to leave because someone is coming." We paid for all the accommodations 5 months in advance but didn't receive any of the requested things we paid for, not even an apology for the inconvenience. Some of the employees were deceiving customers pretending to be the general manager and supervisor, which they ended up not being. To make matters worse, the parking valet damaged our rental vehicle in multiple areas of the vehicle. Horrible place, horrible experience, would not recommend this place to anyone ever! Still haven't received compensation for their mistakes. And still no formal apology.

Promotional Information and Important Considerations:
Guests considering Crowne Plaza Atlanta - Midtown should be aware of certain aspects to ensure their expectations align with the hotel's offerings, as indicated by various customer reviews. Parking is a significant point of consideration. The hotel offers valet parking at a daily fee, typically around $50 USD. While there is also an on-site parking garage, it's often described as being down a hill and across a busy street, making valet the more convenient, albeit more expensive, option. Guests have expressed frustration about parking costs, suggesting it's not always included in the reservation and can add up, especially with in-and-out privileges potentially incurring additional charges.
Customer reviews present a mixed picture regarding room quality and service consistency. Some guests have reported issues such as rooms not being available as booked, leading to different room types without the expected amenities (e.g., no kitchenettes or pull-out sofas). Cleanliness has also been a concern for some, with reports of dirty bathrooms, stained towels, and signs of wear and tear like deteriorating wallpaper or holes in walls. Furthermore, there have been complaints about staff demeanor, miscommunication regarding bookings, and unfulfilled promises for accommodations or compensation for issues. Instances of noise, possible mold or water damage leading to musty smells, and limited availability of certain amenities like mini-fridges or microwaves in rooms have also been noted.
It is crucial for prospective guests to confirm all specific requests and room amenities directly with the hotel and, if possible, get them in writing. Guests with specific room requirements (e.g., king beds, kitchenettes, or sofa beds) should verify availability at the time of booking and upon check-in. Given the feedback on cleanliness, it might be prudent to inspect the room upon arrival and promptly communicate any concerns to the front desk. For those with asthma or sensitivities, the reported musty smell in some areas should be noted.
As an IHG property, Crowne Plaza Atlanta - Midtown offers IHG One Rewards benefits for loyalty program members, including opportunities to earn and redeem points. Guests can often find various promotions through the IHG website, such as bonus points offers or discounted rates for certain stay lengths or specific groups like government employees. Checking the official IHG website or direct booking platforms for current promotions and deals is advisable for potential savings.
In conclusion, Crowne Plaza Atlanta - Midtown by IHG provides a centrally located hotel experience with extensive facilities, particularly strong for meetings and events. Its proximity to major attractions and transportation links is a definite plus. However, guests should exercise diligence in confirming their booking details, understanding parking costs, and being prepared to address any immediate concerns with room quality or service to ensure a satisfactory stay.

May 21, 2025 · Wil JacksonThis place had mold or some type of water damage. The halls smelled sweet but musty at the same time. Kept me coughing since I have asthma. Valet parking is your best bet. The parking garage is down a hill and across a busy street plus more expensive. Some restaurants within walking distance. Coffee place on-site. Good selection of goodies for purchase. The staff was very helpful and friendly, from the valet to check-in. Always accommodating. Our room had a hole that was covered by wallpaper or paneling, very thin. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. No minifrig or microwave.
May 17, 2025 · Dee MI live just outside of Atlanta and I stay in hotels in the city often for concerts and events…I would suggest literally any other hotel. First checking in was a mess, not only was the line moving at a snails pace but the people at the front desk let several other customers just step in front of the line to get small things done like fixing rooms keys (I’ll get to this) which made it that much longer. They weren’t necessarily rude but it was very clear they had no interest in making sure any of our requests were met. We asked for a few things for a family members room and watched her write them down and not a single one of them was done. Now the rooms, we had a room for ourselves and a room for some family members. Our room was disgusting. It was unbearably musty, you couldn’t convince me it wasn’t flooded in the last few weeks. We were also missing basic amenities like trash cans and a mini fridge. One of the beds was so lopsided that if you laid on the left side, you would roll to the right. Our second room was just odd. The balcony door opened to a literal roof top that you could access any other door on the floor. Never in my life have I seen a hotel balcony that you could just walk to the room next door and it really didn’t feel very safe. We also had several issues with our room keys not working. I’m pretty sure the issue is with the card readers in the stairwells and elevators but the front desk says the cards keep breaking? We got stuck in the stairwells for 15 minutes because we couldn’t find a floor whose card reader would accept our card (it did not work on our floor either). I had a family member have to ride the elevator for 10 minutes until a staff member got on and used their key to get them on because AFTER they reset their key at the front desk, it still didn’t work. After experiencing the nasty status our room was in, I went to ask if we could switch rooms and I was essentially laughed at and told my room was fine and they couldn’t do anything. We are Platinum Elite IHG members and generally we love IHG hotels, but this hotel is a disgrace that is making your brand look bad. We chose to ignore the reviews, don’t make the same mistake we did.
May 11, 2025 · Bailey LIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. First off most of the desk employees are very very rude and have horrible attitudes and are horrible with communication.s . They had no valet that could drive a stick shift car. On top of that they put us in a room that wasn't ours. THEN gave us a room that wasn't clean. Finally gave us a room we're supposed to have and clean but it took HOURS to get it settled. I highly recommend NOT staying here. Worse hotel I've ever been to staff and room wise. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!
May 12, 2025 · Katie SteeleHad to change rooms, twice. In the first one the AC didn’t work and it smelled like a hockey teams changing room. There were red stains in the bath tub, who knows what that was. Second room I get, I open the door and there’s a family of 7 in there, just leaving. Beds, bathroom and towels used. Parking costs 35€ for 24h across the street or 50€ valet. The rooms were last updated around the 2000, everything is worn down. Would definitely not come back!
