Incredibly pleased with the property! Stayed in unit #4, Satulah. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit was perfect for two couples. Attractive and well-maintained. The gas fireplace was warm & comfy on chilly February evenings. The mini-kitchen area (with small refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, and ice maker) was convenient so we didn't have to eat at restaurants every meal. The pictures accurately show what you get. Can easily walk to any place in Highlands. A treasure of a find in Highlands - I couldn't believe I found such a nice place to stay in!

Located at 420 Carolina Way, Highlands, NC 28741, USA, this property (formerly known as Creekside Village) has been recently renovated to provide a collection of luxurious boutique suites that blend modern comforts with a serene natural setting, all within easy walking distance of downtown Highlands.
The environment of The Inn at Mill Creek is one of its most significant assets. Nestled on the upper back side of the newly renovated "Mill Creek Plaza," which houses retail and restaurants, the Inn enjoys a prime location that offers both convenience and tranquility. Its most prized feature is the picturesque Mill Creek itself, which runs directly alongside the property. Guests can enjoy new decks and patios, perfect for "rocking in your Adirondack chair while sipping your favorite beverage overlooking the clear mountain creek," as one reviewer described. This creekside setting provides a peaceful ambiance, allowing guests to "enjoy the fresh, cool mountain air, and listen to the sounds of the creek and Mother Nature." Despite this natural seclusion, the Inn is incredibly central, being just two to three blocks from Main Street in Highlands. This allows guests to leave their cars and "easily walk to any place in Highlands," including unique shopping, world-class dining, the Highlands Playhouse, and the Performing Arts Center. The blend of in-town convenience with the soothing sounds of the creek creates a truly distinctive atmosphere.

The Inn offers six uniquely appointed and designed boutique suites, each with its own character and amenities. Common features across these suites include:
The distinguished features of The Inn at Mill Creek truly lie in its unique blend of "peaceful and to be left alone" privacy within a suite format, combined with its unparalleled "walk to town" convenience. Unlike a typical "inn" or "hotel" with a full range of on-site amenities like a traditional front desk or restaurant (though there are restaurants in the same plaza), it offers a self-sufficient and intimate experience. The fact that guests can step out of their suite and be "steps away from unique shopping, world class dining," and cultural venues like the Highlands Playhouse and Performing Arts Center, while still returning to the soothing sounds of a mountain creek, sets it apart. The recent renovations in 2019 have ensured that the suites are "super cute and clean and actually have nice craftsmanship," as noted by a builder, indicating a high standard of quality. The option to book multiple or all six distinct suites makes it ideal for groups, reunions, or special events, allowing for a collective yet private experience.
For promotional information, The Inn at Mill Creek actively markets its suites through its own website and reputable vacation rental platforms like Airbnb. Guests can find detailed descriptions and photos of each unique suite ("Silver Linings," "Black Bear," "Into the Woods," "Satulah," "In the Clouds," and "Whiteside"). Pricing starts from a certain range (e.g., $225/night for some suites, $295/night for larger ones like Satulah), varying based on the specific suite, season, and demand. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially during peak seasons in Highlands. Guests are required to sign an accommodation agreement from their reservation system. For reservations or inquiries, guests can contact the Inn via phone at (828) 526-9999 or +1 828-526-9999. The Inn emphasizes its goal to "create an atmosphere, which will insure that when you think of Highlands, you will think of us!!" highlighting its commitment to providing a memorable and high-quality stay experience.
In summary, for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Highlands, NC, The Inn at Mill Creek provides an exceptional option for a tranquil and convenient mountain getaway. Feb 27, 2024 · Becky JonesThis place was a perfect long weekend getaway! We stayed in the In The Clouds suite, and it was very comfortable, clean and private. The Inn is only an easy walk of two, short blocks from the main area of downtown Highlands. This is not a typical "inn" or "hotel" with many amenities, but if you want peaceful and to be left alone, it's great. There are also a number of restaurants and shops nearby (we ate at the Blue Bike Cafe twice!).
Jan 04, 2021 · Josh HopsonI did not stay here. Went to the Blue Bike for breakfast. Sat outside with my dog. Staff was exceptional. Friendly and well organized. Food was great. My first time here. Perfect location inside The Mill complex. They are rated as one of the best breakfast spots in town. Well deserved. Will not hesitate to go back. Be advised...busy place. Expect to wait during peak times.
Mar 27, 2023 · Peter AExcellent accommodations and great location. We could walk to everything in DT Highlands. My only recommendation is to hand a towel bar in the bathroom so guests have somewhere to hang damp towels! We were in "Into the Woods". Other than that, nicely appointed suite. Thanks!
Jul 11, 2021 · Charlene “Charley” MI stayed here at very beginning of the fall and I am beyond excited to come back! The inn is BEAUTIFUL! Very well decorated and it doesn’t make me feel like I’m staying in a hotel. The owners are wonderful and so nice and accommodating. It is a convenient place within walking distance to just about everything! I plan on coming back as often as possible!
