It felt like a blast into the past when you walk in and right up to your room! The lobby is gorgeous with friendly staff, the history behind the building is intriguing, the room entry door is historic with a separate service door in it, radiators for heat, and the room comes with a kitchen. Some of the locals are very fond of the hotel despite never having stayed inside (yet). There is limited paid parking with in-out access is available onsite as well, but everything is within walking distance or within talking the free public transport. Plenty of local restaurants and one inside the building, but if you plan to cook in your room, you may need to dust/ clean off the cookware. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable! Coming from major brand hotels and living in modern houses, the lack of a thermostat was making me bug out for a moment, but I found the radiator valve to turn the heat on (don’t open it fully unless you want a sauna). A few things to pack though… An eye mask as the blinds are more just for privacy, and Ear plugs as you can easily hear an outside conversation a few floors up and in case large rain droplets hit the window AC unit all night. It’s a quiet hotel and area otherwise.

Jun 04, 2025 · Andrew DThis place was such a great historic hotel. Love the old style doors on each room where the milkman would open on the exterior to place milk for someone on the inside to retrieve it without opening up the large entrance door. The rooms were nice, suite with kitchen was great to have. Real winner.... was the staff. From Precious at the front desk to maintenance bringing up a fan for me to the cleaning crew the next morning, the culture there is A+. They all were smiling, happy and said their goal is to make you just want to come back. They made you feel like they were really happy YOU were there. Customer experience with staff was 100%
Mar 25, 2025 · Heather WanningerStaying at this hotel was like stepping into a Time Machine in the best way possible! I was absolutely enamored with the design of the whole hotel, and especially the antique doors to all the bedrooms. As some others have mentioned, the smell of the lobby is INCREDIBLE! Everyone we spoke with before and during our stay was super delightful and helpful! My only complaint would be the AC unit in our room wasn’t working properly, so the room stayed kinda muggy, but we made do. I also wish parking was complimentary or at least made clear ahead of time that it must be paid for. I must have misunderstood the website because I was under the impression that the parking was included in the cost of the room and that you wouldn’t have to pay an additional fee to use their lot. However, both of those were smaller inconveniences in the grand scheme of our trip. We really enjoyed this hotel and look forward to the next time we’re in town so we can stay with them again!
Jun 04, 2025 · Caitie RamirezAs soon as you walk in it smells fantastic! Such a beautiful, classic look. Friendly front desk. The water pressure and temperature - chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 I was in room 420, adorable room with a window AC and radiator for heat (which I love). My room was facing the back. I could hear people talking, car alarms going off, and the dumpster being opened and closed half the night. Other than that- nice visit.
May 22, 2025 · Julie HernandezOur stay at The Knickerbocker was wonderful. I'm an out of town musician, so the proximity to Shank Hall for my gig was ideal. We got to the hotel 2 hours before check in and Precious behind the front desk was so accommodating and sweet! She guided us through all the steps to check in with ease. Our room was very nice and comfortable, and even had a full kitchenette! When we went down to go to the restaurant, which was delicious, Precious personally escorted us to make sure we found it ok. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and hope to come visit Precious, and the Knickerbocker again soon!
