I'm so disappointed. The Lodge at Woodcliff had a great reputation years ago so when I was planning a romantic weekend with my wife it was an easy choice. I was happy to spring for the Romance package for double the regular price. Online it said it includes two bath robes, two sets of slippers, a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and credit at the restaurant. When we arrived in the room none of the above was there. The room was basically clean but the furniture, carpet, upholstery, art, were old and worn and needed replacing. When I asked the front desk for the Romance package we were assured it would be provided if I gave them another 30 minutes to an hour. We went for a walk and came back to one bath robe and one set of slippers, and a cheap bottle of champagne and a small plate with a few strawberries in the refrigerator. The restaurant was also not a good experience. If I had known this was what I got for paying double I would have saved my money.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Fairport, NY area, The Lodge at Woodcliff may appear as an option, often associated with the larger Woodcliff Hotel & Spa complex at 199 Woodcliff Dr #199, Fairport, NY 14450, USA. To provide an objective introduction for local users, it's essential to consider the various facets of this establishment, including its environment, services, features, and any promotional information, while acknowledging recent guest feedback.
The Lodge at Woodcliff, as part of the Woodcliff property, benefits from its elevated location, which typically offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Rochester skyline and the Finger Lakes countryside. The broader Woodcliff complex is known for its extensive grounds, which often include hiking trails and green spaces, contributing to a tranquil and picturesque environment. However, specific feedback regarding "The Lodge" portion of the property suggests that while the location itself might be appealing, the interior environment, particularly the guest rooms, may reflect an older aesthetic. One recent review noted that the "furniture, carpet, upholstery, art, were old and worn and needed replacing," indicating that while the room was "basically clean," the overall decor and furnishings might not align with contemporary expectations or a reputation of grandeur from years past.
In terms of services, The Lodge at Woodcliff, as a part of a larger hotel operation, would be expected to offer standard amenities such as front desk assistance, housekeeping, and access to the broader resort's facilities. The phone number for inquiries is (585) 381-4000 or mobile phone +1 585-381-4000. Customer service experiences, however, appear to be a mixed bag according to recent feedback. While one reviewer praised it as a "professional establishment" where "everything is great," another recounted significant disappointment, particularly concerning the fulfillment of a promotional package. This guest reported that promised items for a "Romance package" – including bathrobes, slippers, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries – were entirely absent upon arrival. While the front desk eventually attempted to rectify the situation, the items provided were described as insufficient and of lower quality than anticipated ("one bath robe and one set of slippers, and a cheap bottle of champagne and a small plate with a few strawberries"). This suggests an inconsistency in service delivery and the honoring of advertised package inclusions, which can significantly impact guest satisfaction and trust.
Regarding features of The Lodge at Woodcliff, guest rooms are central to the experience. One positive aspect highlighted by a reviewer focused specifically on the bathrooms, noting "high shower heads, good pressure and lots of room inside." The beds were described as "firm and comfy with nice pillows," and the TV was "easy" to operate. These are fundamental comforts that contribute positively to a stay. However, the previously mentioned observation about worn furniture, carpet, and upholstery stands in contrast to the expectation of a premium or refreshed environment. This discrepancy suggests that while some core functionalities like bathroom facilities and beds may be satisfactory, the overall aesthetic and condition of the rooms might be a point of concern for guests accustomed to more modern or well-maintained accommodations.
As part of the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa complex, guests at The Lodge would typically have access to a broader range of features, including a full-service spa, a golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, and dining options like the Horizons Modern Kitchen + Wine Bar. However, one review explicitly mentioned a negative experience at "the restaurant," without detailing which one, suggesting that the dining experience might also be inconsistent. For individuals considering The Lodge, it is important to clarify which specific amenities are directly associated with "The Lodge" versus the broader "Woodcliff Hotel & Spa" to manage expectations effectively.
Promotional information for The Lodge at Woodcliff likely emphasizes its connection to the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, leveraging the reputation of the larger property, which is known for its comprehensive amenities and scenic location. Packages, such as the "Romance package" mentioned by a customer, are a common promotional tool designed to attract specific types of guests and enhance perceived value. However, the recent guest experience highlights a critical issue with the fulfillment of such promotional promises. When a package costing "double the regular price" fails to deliver the advertised inclusions, it leads to significant disappointment and a feeling of being overcharged for what was received. This kind of discrepancy can severely undermine the effectiveness of promotional efforts and tarnish the hotel's reputation.
For local users in Fairport searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," The Lodge at Woodcliff presents a mixed picture based on recent feedback. While some fundamental aspects like bed comfort and shower quality are praised, significant concerns exist regarding the condition of room furnishings and, crucially, the consistent delivery of advertised services and promotional packages. The positive reputation it may have held "years ago" appears to be challenged by more current experiences. Prospective guests would be well-advised to manage their expectations regarding room aesthetics and to perhaps confirm the exact inclusions and guaranteed fulfillment of any special packages directly with the hotel, potentially in writing, to avoid disappointment. The contact information provided is (585) 381-4000 or +1 585-381-4000 for direct communication.

May 31, 2023 · Nathan McClureThis is a professional establishment. Everything is great here. Bathroom is my most important. These have high shower heads, good pressure and lots of room inside. Beds are firm and comfy with nice pillows. The TV is easy. It's a must.
