Liked the area, safe, clean and convenient. The hotel it self is old. Some rooms very out dated, think 1950’s. Definitely ask for the updated room when booking. Beds were comfort, pillows a bit lumpy. Radiator Made noise throughout the night. Liked having kitchen and complimentary coffee in lobby each morning. Breakfast in cafe good! We had a couple small issues, but staff was very kind in taking care of them. Milwaukee itself is expensive for lodging, so I didn’t think the value for what we got was good.

Jun 06, 2025 · Alma BAn anomalous experience for present-day U.S. city lodging. Old school, charming, a little weird, classic. Also, the best breakfast joint bakes right into the hotel. Propers to the Big Dog who runs that kitchen like a well-oiled machine. Always there, always on-point, serving the local regulars side-by-side with the lodgers. A must visit.
May 31, 2025 · chris staplesThis hotel was just an excellent mix of new and vintage amenities. Cozy / welcoming / charming in art deco appearance, and all the stuff works too. I adored our room, lobby, the charmingly perfect Cafe, and a lot of great tucked-away places to sit and chat. We are most definitely staying here again. The most thoughtful and sweet thing? I accidentally left a super tiny pair of earrings on the bedside table. On our way home, the front desk called to figure out how to get them to us. What other hotel would have done this extra gesture? Not many!!!
Oct 27, 2024 · jocelyn jonesOlder building that has been remodeled. I loved there were actual keys to the room. The neighborhood was good. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. I loved the little kitchen nook with the bar. You are away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown but close enough to walk. The parking lot is in the back of the building off of Van Buren. $15 to park beat the other hotels around. Easy walk to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. We had breakfast in the cafe, and it was good and reasonably priced. It did seem to be very busy at 8 am on a Sunday, but that didn't affect how long it took for our food to arrive. This will be my go-to spot while in town!
