I am highly disappointed with my stay at The Westin. On Monday evening, I checked into my room and requested to extend my stay by an extra night. The man working at the front desk said he had added an extra night for me. Once I settled into my room, I checked the Marriott mobile app to confirm the change, but it hadn’t been updated. Honestly, I wasn’t too stressed because the app is often unreliable, so I figured it would update by morning. Come morning, I checked again, and the app still didn’t reflect the added night — my check-out time was still set for that morning. I decided to call the front desk to confirm my extended stay and was met with further frustration. Before I called, I turned on the shower and discovered the tub was clogged. I called down to the front desk to 1) ask for someone to unclog the tub, so I could use the shower, and 2) confirm my extended stay. Maintenance promptly came and fixed the clog, which I appreciated, but when I asked about the extended night, the front desk informed me that I would need to book a separate night online, and they would adjust it on their end to ensure I stayed in the same room. I found this odd, as I have extended stays at other hotels before without having to book a whole new room. To make matters worse, the rooms were outdated, which didn’t meet my expectations for a hotel of this brand and price. Additionally, the elevator closest to my room was out of order during my stay, forcing me to wonder across the floor to find the next closest elevator. Regardless, I went to book the second night, only to find out that the hotel was completely booked. So, I had to scramble and find another hotel at the last minute. What I found most frustrating was the lack of transparency and communication. The front desk told me they had added the extra night upon check-in, but then I was told later I would have to book it myself. If they had informed me during check-in that they couldn’t extend my stay, I could have made other arrangements ahead of time and avoided all the confusion. It feels like they were aware they were sold out but didn’t provide me with the full picture until it was too late. As a frequent traveler, I expect better service and clearer communication. I’ve never encountered such poor handling of an extended stay request before. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled and I have no intention of staying here again, nor will I be recommending any of my colleagues to stay at this location.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Morristown, New Jersey area, The Westin Governor Morris, Morristown is a prominent establishment located at 2 Whippany Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960, USA. You can contact them directly at (973) 539-7300 or via mobile at +1 973-539-7300 for reservations or inquiries. As a part of the esteemed Westin brand, this hotel is generally perceived as a higher-end option, catering to guests seeking a certain level of comfort and service.
The overall environment of The Westin Governor Morris, Morristown presents a mix of classic elegance and areas that may benefit from updates. Upon entering, guests are often greeted by a "very nice" lobby, suggesting a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing welcome area that aligns with the expectations of a luxury brand. The ease of parking is also highlighted as a positive aspect of the hotel's environment, contributing to a convenient arrival and departure experience for guests traveling by car. This is a crucial consideration for those using a "Hotels Near Of Me" search, as accessibility and convenience are often key factors in their decision-making process.
However, an objective look at the environment also reveals some areas that have drawn constructive feedback. One guest noted that the "rooms were outdated," which could potentially detract from the modern and refreshed feel typically associated with contemporary luxury hotels. Another review described the rooms as "kind of feels like your in your grandmas house," which, while perhaps implying a homely comfort, also suggests a decor that might not align with current design trends. Furthermore, infrastructural issues, such as an elevator being "out of order," can significantly impact guest convenience and overall experience, forcing guests to navigate further distances within the hotel. These aspects of the environment indicate that while the public spaces like the lobby are well-received, the guest rooms and some facilities might not consistently meet the elevated expectations set by the Westin brand and its price point.
In terms of services, The Westin Governor Morris, Morristown aims to provide a comprehensive experience. As a Westin property, it typically offers a range of services designed to enhance guest well-being and convenience, such as a fitness center, dining options, and meeting facilities. The promptness of maintenance service is one area that has received positive feedback; a clogged tub issue was "promptly fixed," indicating a responsive approach to immediate guest needs. This efficiency in addressing maintenance concerns is a commendable aspect of their service delivery.
However, a significant area of concern regarding services revolves around communication and handling of requests, particularly extensions of stay. One detailed account illustrates a frustrating experience where a request to extend a stay was initially confirmed by the front desk but not accurately reflected in the booking system, leading to confusion and the inability to secure the extended night. The guest's expectation for "better service and clearer communication" was unmet, highlighting a critical lapse in transparency and consistency in service delivery. This incident suggests that while some operational aspects like maintenance are efficient, there can be significant gaps in how information is relayed and confirmed, leading to considerable guest disappointment and inconvenience. Such inconsistencies can be a major detractor for potential guests considering "Hotels Near Of Me" for their future stays.
The features of The Westin Governor Morris, Morristown include its comfortable accommodations and convenient amenities. A consistent positive feature highlighted by guests is the comfort of the beds, described as "comfy," which is a fundamental aspect of a restful hotel stay. This aligns with Westin's brand focus on well-being and a good night's sleep. As mentioned earlier, the ease of parking is another practical feature that adds significant value, especially for guests with vehicles, eliminating the stress of finding or paying for parking. The hotel's position as a "decent" option on the "pricier side" suggests that it positions itself as a premium offering with certain expected amenities and services that command a higher rate. While specific details on other features like Wi-Fi, in-room amenities, or recreational facilities are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, guests generally expect a full suite of services commensurate with a Westin-branded property. The general sentiment regarding the rooms being "nice," despite the aesthetic remarks, still implies a functional and generally acceptable level of comfort.
Regarding promotional information, the available data does not provide specific promotional offers or packages from The Westin Governor Morris, Morristown. However, as a Marriott Bonvoy property, the hotel would typically participate in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points for stays, and potentially access exclusive member-only rates or benefits. Frequent travelers, especially those who are part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, might consider this a promotional draw. The general perception of the hotel being "pricier" indicates that promotions, when available, would likely be aimed at attracting guests looking for value within a premium segment. However, the negative experience regarding the extended stay request could serve as a cautionary note for potential guests, impacting their decision-making process even if attractive promotions are offered. The overall promotional strategy for the hotel would likely leverage its brand recognition as a Westin property, emphasizing comfort, service, and its location in Morristown, while simultaneously needing to address feedback related to dated elements and communication issues to truly attract and retain guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." Potential guests are advised to check the official Marriott website or contact the hotel directly for any current offers or packages that might be available.

May 13, 2025 · DougOur experience at The Westin Governor in Morristown was absolutely exceptional! From the moment we arrived, Anthony and Mitchell went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us and our wedding party feel truly taken care of. The hotel’s staff handled our guests with such grace and efficiency, creating a seamless and memorable celebration. We couldn’t have asked for a better place—or better people—to host such a special occasion.
Apr 21, 2025 · Chris CiarloneThis place is one of the most beautiful places I have been so far, my boyfriend and I travel all over for his job. We stayed here as one of the first jobs he had on his own as a contractor. The beds are the best, and the lobby is absolutely stunning. Beautiful colors and gorgeous chandeliers all over. Real luxury place and in a great location. New Jersey is a very beautiful and clean city. The streets are free of liter and that says a lot about a city and the pride they take in keeping it clean.
Feb 05, 2025 · Stacey HebertA bit dated with new paint. Given the expected quality of the hotel I thought the pull-out couch would have been better. You are paying for the bed.
