My husband and I provided the young lady at the front desk a list of issues with our room and askwd for a small, partial refund of points. She told me the only way we could do that is to contact Wyndham directly. Today was my fourth contact with Wyndham. All Wyndham associates at customer service say that they are supervisors. Today's "supervisor" told me that since each hotel is privately owned, the proper protocol was for the hotel personnel to handle this instead of referring me to Wyndham corporation. Being a Wyndham Platinum Member is meaningless. Room had no towel racks. Freezer was full of frost (needed defrosting) so our leftovers got frozen in the fridge. We were there on both weekends mornings and there was only complimentary coffee (no snacks). The sheet on the mattress was not a fitted sheet, so it came loose which is a potential for the mattress to get dirty. All furniture was intact. Back side of the hotel had two people smoking pot outside each of their rooms. I felt safe in room at front of hotel. In order to not hear the cars on Northern Blvd, you will need to run the fan. I was told that there are no units at the front of hotel that have two beds. Bed did not have a comforter, just a flat, thin blanket between two sheets. Had to ask for more pillows; there were only two and they were rather flat. Towels lacked absorbency. We were not provided a wifi password, so I am not sure if that is available. I liked the town; Gino's Pizzeria was great.

Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset Introduce

For individuals exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" with a focus on budget-friendly options, the Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset at 1177 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, NY 11030, USA, may appear in search results. The hotel can be contacted at (516) 708-4952 or via mobile at +1 516-708-4952. As a Wyndham property, it aims to provide straightforward accommodations, though guest experiences can vary significantly.

Objective information gathered from customer reviews suggests a mixed bag of experiences, highlighting both areas of strength, particularly concerning staff interactions, and areas requiring significant improvement, especially related to room amenities and maintenance. It is important for potential guests to consider these varied perspectives when evaluating this hotel for their needs.

Environment: A Mixed Bag of Safety and Noise

The environment at Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset elicits mixed reactions from guests. On one hand, a business traveler notes that despite not being a luxury establishment like "the Plaza," the hotel is generally "safe, always clean." This suggests that core cleanliness standards are often met, which is a fundamental expectation for any accommodation. However, another review paints a less favorable picture, highlighting issues that detract from comfort and potentially safety. The mention of "two people smoking pot outside each of their rooms" on the backside of the hotel raises concerns about adherence to hotel policies and potentially guest comfort, though the reviewer "felt safe in room at front of hotel." This suggests that room location might influence the perceived environment.

The hotel's location on Northern Boulevard means that "in order to not hear the cars on Northern Blvd, you will need to run the fan." This indicates potential noise pollution from the main road, which could impact sleep quality for sensitive guests. The facility itself is described as having "all furniture was intact," which implies a basic level of maintenance for the fixtures. However, the presence of a "freezer... full of frost (needed defrosting)" and a "sheet on the mattress... not a fitted sheet, so it came loose which is a potential for the mattress to get dirty" point to a lack of detailed maintenance and potentially compromised hygiene. The overall environment, therefore, appears to be functional and generally safe, but with noticeable drawbacks in terms of comfort and meticulous upkeep.

Services: Commendable Staff Amidst Operational Shortcomings

The service aspect at Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset appears to be a point of divergence in guest experiences. On a highly positive note, the "front desk staff makes me feel like family when I come through the door," and the "manager has even assigned my 'own permanent room #'" for a frequent business traveler. The housekeeping staff is also described as "always polite." This speaks to a strong, personalized service culture from certain staff members, particularly for returning guests. This level of friendly and welcoming service can significantly enhance a stay, making guests feel valued and comfortable.

However, another review highlights significant operational shortcomings in service. A crucial point of contention was the handling of a refund request for room issues. Despite being a "Wyndham Platinum Member" and making "fourth contact with Wyndham," the issue remained unresolved due to a dispute over proper protocol between the hotel and the corporate office. This indicates a potential disconnect in customer service resolution processes and a lack of empowerment at the hotel level to address guest complaints directly, which can be frustrating for patrons. The limited "complimentary coffee (no snacks)" on weekend mornings also points to a very basic level of complimentary offerings, which might be a drawback for guests expecting more from a complimentary breakfast.

Features: Basic Amenities with Noted Deficiencies

The features offered at Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset appear to be basic, with some notable deficiencies that impact guest comfort and convenience. Rooms are equipped with essentials, including "hanging space, iron, ironing board," but critical features like "no towel racks" in the bathroom are highlighted as missing. The bed situation is also a point of concern, with "Bed did not have a comforter, just a flat, thin blanket between two sheets" and only "two rather flat" pillows, requiring guests to "ask for more pillows." The "towels lacked absorbency," further contributing to a less-than-ideal bathroom experience.

The in-room appliances include a fridge and freezer, though the freezer's condition ("full of frost") indicates maintenance issues. While the presence of a fridge is beneficial for storing leftovers, the issue with the freezer meant "our leftovers got frozen in the fridge," which can be inconvenient. The hotel also notably "didn't even have an ice maker," a very basic amenity expected in most hotels. The availability of Wi-Fi is uncertain, as a guest was "not provided a wifi password." However, Travelodge properties typically offer complimentary Wi-Fi, so this might be an issue of communication or a temporary outage. The absence of more robust complimentary breakfast options (only coffee was mentioned) is also a feature limitation. Despite these shortcomings, the hotel's provision of "local Chanels and cable" for TV and the mention of "plenty of places that deliver food" or "safely venture into the surrounding neighborhood" for dining indicates that guests have options for sustenance and entertainment within and outside the property.

Promotional Information and Guest Considerations

No specific promotional offers are provided in the reviews, but the hotel's branding as a "Travelodge by Wyndham" suggests it targets a budget-conscious market. The "Wyndham Platinum Member" status mentioned by a guest indicates participation in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, which typically offers benefits such as discounted rates or bonus points, though the guest's experience with issue resolution was disappointing despite their status. The hotel's price point is described as "extremely competitive in the Long Island market," which is a key promotional aspect for budget travelers. However, this competitive pricing is directly juxtaposed with concerns about service quality, making it a value proposition that requires careful consideration.

The most compelling promotional aspects, as conveyed by the positive review, are the friendly staff and the hotel's perceived safety and cleanliness. For guests who prioritize these attributes and are comfortable with more basic amenities, the Travelodge by Wyndham Manhasset might be a suitable option. However, for those with higher expectations regarding room amenities, maintenance, and seamless customer service resolution, the critical reviews serve as a strong cautionary note. The direct advice to "find a different place to stay" and the comparison to "much better hotels throughout Nassau and Suffolk" highlight that prospective guests should weigh the cost savings against the reported deficiencies when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Manhasset area.

I travel a lot in my business, so a clean comfortable space is very important to me at the end of the day. The front desk staff makes me feel like family when I come through the door. The manager has even assigned my "own permanent room #". Every hotel has its issues. It may not be the Plaza...but Its safe, always clean, and friendly here. There are plenty of places that deliver food, or you can safely venture into the surrounding neighborhood. The housekeeping staff is always polite as well.

I wanted to like this location. However, I just can't compare standards to other hotels. Check-in was a breeze. A little noticeable smell at the front desk, parking was easy to find + plenty in the back. I just don't like the atmosphere of the rooms. Rooms are too bland. The first thing I did was inspect the beds for any bedbugs (none which was a relief). However, I did manage to find red blood stains and a cigarrette hole on the bed sheets. The bathroom was a little squishy, but it was okay. Housekeeping came in daily and made sure the bed and room were tidy. Other than that, only negative is that there is only one entrance when driving in. The other entrance (facing building to the left) is a little steep. You will scratch your car.
