This resort is in dire need of a renovation and staff training would be a massive understatement. Upon checking in the first room we were given smelled of urine, had what appeared to putty crammed into holes in the formica countertops, some sort of black ooze coming out of the fridge, dead bugs all over the place, and more items that I can list wrong with it. Upon going to the front desk and asking for another room, the staff I was with thankfully was nice and was able to get another room. The "newer" room had deep gouges in the walls, broken cabinets, crumbling deck, gouged floors, worn carpets/chairs, but was at least clean. The maintenance men came by several times to try and kill off the multiple bee nests that had taken up residence on the deck elsewhere. I am very thankful I had the front desk person I did though as I watched the "front desk" manager verbally accost another guest then walk off leaving the guest standing there. The grounds are in deplorable condition looking like they have never been trimmed back and barely cut. The pools are dirty and in poor shape with broken furniture around them. I was shocked how much this place has gone down hill in the last few years since I was here. Aside from the horrible state of the resort itself it is in a lovely area with easy access to the popular attractions.
For individuals and families exploring "Hotels Near Me" in the scenic East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania area, Tree Tops and Fairway, often associated with Pocono Mountain Villas by Exploria, presents an option for consideration. Located at 2157 River Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, USA, the resort can be contacted at (570) 588-3300 ext. 4110 or +1 570-588-3300 ext. 4110. This introduction provides an objective overview of the resort, drawing from available online information and recent guest experiences, covering its environment, services, features, and any notable promotional information.
The environment at Tree Tops and Fairway elicits varied reactions from guests. While some visitors have described the area as "lovely" with "easy access to popular attractions," indicating a favorable natural setting and convenient location for exploring the Poconos, other recent reviews paint a concerning picture of the resort's upkeep. Reports frequently mention a dire need for renovation across the property. Guests have described the grounds as being in "deplorable condition," appearing untrimmed and barely cut, suggesting a lack of regular maintenance. Similarly, the pools have been noted as "dirty and in poor shape" with "broken furniture around them." Inside the accommodations, some initial room assignments have been met with severe issues, including strong unpleasant odors, damaged countertops, "black ooze" from refrigerators, and dead insects. Even in "newer" rooms, guests have reported deep gouges in walls, broken cabinets, crumbling decks, gouged floors, and worn carpets and chairs, although these rooms were noted as being "at least clean." This suggests a significant disparity in room quality and a general need for property-wide updates to enhance the overall guest environment. The presence of bee nests requiring maintenance intervention also points to environmental upkeep challenges.
Regarding services, the experiences at Tree Tops and Fairway also appear to be inconsistent. While one reviewer specifically praised a "front desk person" for being "nice" and helpful in arranging a room change, another recounted witnessing a "front desk manager verbally accost another guest," which suggests variability in staff professionalism and training. On a positive note, within the villas described as "Pocono Mountain Villas by Exploria," the wait staff at the on-property restaurant are noted as "very courteous," and the food served is described as "good." This indicates that some aspects of the resort's service, particularly in the dining area, may meet guest expectations. However, the overarching feedback concerning the general resort staff points to a need for more consistent and comprehensive training. The ability to switch rooms when initial accommodations were unsatisfactory highlights a degree of responsiveness, but the necessity for such a change itself raises concerns about quality control prior to guest arrival. The resort also offers a variety of activities and amenities that require interaction with staff, including mini-golf, fishing, and a spa, though the quality of service delivery in these areas is not uniformly detailed in available reviews.
The features of Tree Tops and Fairway include a variety of accommodation types, with some guests reporting spacious 3-bedroom villas spread over two floors with decks. These villas, often described within the context of Pocono Mountain Villas by Exploria, come with fully equipped electric kitchens, which is a significant feature for extended stays and families desiring self-catering options. The presence of a restaurant on the property provides a convenient dining alternative. Recreational features include indoor and outdoor pools, though their condition has been a point of concern for some. Other advertised amenities, which may vary by booking and unit type, typically include a fitness center, mini-golf, tennis courts, a game room, and fishing opportunities. For those interested in spa services, a spa is also listed as a feature. The resort's location provides "easy access" to popular Poconos attractions, which is a key selling point for visitors to the region. The availability of multiple bedrooms and a full kitchen makes the villas suitable for larger families or groups, offering more space and flexibility than traditional hotel rooms. The inclusion of a deck allows for outdoor relaxation and enjoyment of the natural surroundings, despite some reports of their condition.
In terms of promotional information, Tree Tops and Fairway, particularly as part of Pocono Mountain Villas by Exploria, often emphasizes its role as a vacation ownership resort. This implies that many guests may be timeshare owners or participating in timeshare exchange programs, which can influence their expectations and the perceived value. While specific promotional offers for transient stays are not detailed in the provided reviews, the existence of spacious villas with fully equipped kitchens suggests a focus on extended stays and family-oriented vacations. The concept of it being a "happy place" for some guests, despite the reported issues, suggests that for certain owners or repeat visitors, the overall experience, perhaps combined with the value of ownership or the specific unit they occupy, remains positive. However, for those searching "Hotels Near Me" and considering a standard booking, it is crucial to balance the allure of spacious accommodations and a good location with the consistent feedback regarding the dated nature of the facilities and the need for significant renovations. The wide discrepancy in guest experiences underscores the importance of thorough research and perhaps direct inquiry regarding the specific unit and amenities that would be provided for a particular stay. The resort's appeal lies in its villa-style accommodations and access to regional attractions, but potential guests should be prepared for facilities that may not meet modern standards of upkeep as indicated by a number of reviews.

Aug 28, 2024 · Ben HambletonPocono Mountain Villas by Exploria is indeed our happy place! We had a spacious 3 bedroom villa spread out over 2 floors with a deck in the back. Accommodations were clean. Electric Kitchen is fully equipped. Restaurant on the property serves good food. Very courteous wait staff
Apr 03, 2024 · Absolut3 Int3lligenceWe were given a lake front villa, it consisted of 2 bedroom, and 2 bathroom plus a sofa bed. They gave us the villa that needed renovation, but it was still in great condition well, except for the broken toaster. We called it in and within 15 minutes they brought us a brand new toaster. The kitchen area was well equiped. They have 3 pools in the complex. The best was the fairway. In the fairway there is mini golf, indoor and outdoor pool as well as an arcade, oh a wonderful hot tub. It was awesome because we were alone for hours playing arcade and then using the pool and hot tub. Would definitely go back again.
Aug 30, 2023 · K silly DiRecently became owners mostly cause it’s close to home. My biggest issue is the pools and gym are extremely out dated and poorly maintained. The biggest pool has t been available to use for years which makes me question why I even purchased a timeshare. Hopefully this is resolved soon because I’d like to enjoy what I used to 10 yrs ago.
Mar 05, 2024 · RRT (The Mighty FP)I know they are renovating units here but we surely didn't get one. Just a bit run down. The most important things to note: The hot water is way too hot. Dangerous in my opinion. Be careful with the showers for the little ones. Staff should know what is open and what is not. We called the front desk to ask about minigolf and were told it was closed. We happened to go by the pool near it later and it was open. Bring an eye mask if you have to sleep in the loft as there are some windows with no curtains in this area. I will try it again after renovations are completed.
