Drove up and they are doing construction on a large portion of the exterior, that was not disclosed upon booking. Man when we checked in seemed bothered that we were there, barely said hi and didn’t even bother to tell us the room number we were in only wrote it on the card carrier. Walked into our room and the beds were not made well, no trash can liners and the floor has not been swept. And when we left we had to walk through construction equipment. Beds were soft, pillows sucked, but it was clean enough and we got a good nights sleep. Would not stay here again with there being other options nearby.

Jun 13, 2025 · Hannah SuggI recently quit this job due to poor management. A few housekeepers don’t change the sheets after guests stay. The manager Shawn turner is fully aware and even tells housekeepers to cut corners. Breakfast is made with no gloves and I’ve witness on multiple occasions the breakfast person touch the food with bare hands to check the temp after cleaning bathrooms. Or even take bites out the food before setting it out. The manager sleeps with all the employees creating a hostile work environment. The rooms are filthy and very small. I would not recommend this place.
Jul 14, 2025 · Krisimarie5454 HuwWorst Hilton hotel ever. A Sleepless, Cramped, and Noisy Disappointment. I’d give it zero stars if I could. I expected better from Hilton, but Tru in Cedar Rapids feels more like a budget motel in disguise. The rooms are tiny—no closet, no drawers, and barely enough space to walk around the bed. Speaking of the bed, the polyester bedding was an unwelcome surprise. I didn’t pay over $200/night to be met with a plastic bag to rest on. I’ve stayed in less expensive hotels with far better linens. The so-called blackout curtains don’t actually black out anything. Between the bright parking lot lights, low class intoxicated people in the hallway at midnight, and the constant hum of the fridge and clunky AC noises, I got zero rest. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the toilet flushed with a high-pitched screech that echoed down the hallway. This place is loud, low-comfort, and poorly designed for relaxation. I won’t be returning—and I recommend looking elsewhere if you value sleep and sanity. P.S. Polyester Sheets = Nightmares You check into a hotel hoping for rest… but instead, you’re wrapped in plastic. Polyester bedding might be cheap, but it costs you quality sleep, breathable skin, and nervous system peace. It doesn’t regulate temperature. It holds onto sweat. It suffocates the body instead of soothing it. Hotels love it because it’s durable. But your body? It deserves better. If you’ve ever tossed and turned in a hotel bed feeling wired and unrested, it’s not just the noise—it’s the synthetic surface you’re surrendering your skin to. ✨ Sleep is sacred. Make it clean again. Follow me @ThePureWay for the truth hotels won’t tell you—about sleep, health, and how to come back to nature in every room you enter. 🌿 #ThePureWay
Jun 01, 2025 · Lana ShayI've used this hotel previously and enjoyed it, we brought our dog and all last time. This time was not the same. The gentleman that checked us in was amazing and great customer service, he was also there the next morning when we checked out. My issue and complaint is on housekeeping staff. first I am an assistant manager at an independent hotel also in iowa. When I walked in the 1st room, it clearly was cleaned half a$$. trash still in bathroom trash can and shower door dirty and mirror had spit on it from teeth brushing, hair on toilet and beds looked thrown together. So i went down to front desk and they moved us to a new "clean" room. Well that room was okay, no hairs on toilet but shower door was dingy but the shower walls felt clean. although they do not have carpet in rooms, there was hairs and spill stains on floor. mirror still had the same teeth brushing spit on mirror but I can look past that. We had the worst night of sleep as well, pillows and mattresses were uncomfortable. So my biggest complaint is with the housekeeping staff, they're not getting checked on or room inspected. Maybe the head housekeeper should be held responsible, and do random room inspections like we do at our hotel. Im surprised that this is a hilton hotel, more like a choice hotel from this experience.
Mar 24, 2025 · Amy McDonaldWhat a terrible place to stay at, I’ve stayed at many Hilton hotels and this one is by far the worst. Room was not clean properly, nor did they have all the amenity supplies!!! Bed was hard ass hell. So I bought my own cleaning supplies that’s unacceptable. I was going to extend my hotel stay depending on how I like it, but No!! I reserve me another hotel. The manager Shawn is the worse. So if you are planning on booking here, please inspect your room. I will never stay here again.
