Bed wasn't made, no towels. Got a new room. Dirty sheets in hallway piled by door. Asked for housekeeping. They smelled of alcohol and marijuana. Non smoking room smelled like stale cigarettes. Wouldn't give me a refund even though I didn't spend the night. Do not stay here. Better off sleeping in my car.
For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the West Coxsackie, NY area, the 21B Motel is located at 12800 State, Rte 9W, West Coxsackie, NY 12192, USA. For inquiries, the motel can be reached at (518) 731-2721 or via mobile at +1 518-731-2721. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the 21B Motel, drawing primarily from the provided customer reviews to give a realistic portrayal of the guest experience.
The environment at the 21B Motel, based on direct customer feedback, appears to be a significant concern for many guests. Descriptions such as "Filthy," "Old," and "Moldy" suggest a property that is not consistently maintained to acceptable standards of cleanliness and upkeep. The presence of "dirty sheets in hallway piled by door" and the smell of "stale cigarettes" in non-smoking rooms indicate a pervasive issue with cleanliness and air quality. The overall ambiance seems to be one of disrepair and neglect, with guests reporting critical issues like "A/C was busted and left wide open." Such conditions significantly detract from a comfortable or inviting environment. The lack of proper maintenance extends to the physical state of the rooms, with comments about "bed already rustled up and slept in," "Mcdonalds in the trash can from the last guy," and "dirty towels on the floor." The presence of "Piss in the toilet" further underscores severe cleanliness deficiencies. For those seeking a well-maintained, clean, and pleasant environment, the experiences reported by customers indicate that the 21B Motel may not meet these fundamental expectations. Its location on State Route 9W suggests a roadside motel setting, which typically implies convenient access for travelers but does not inherently guarantee a pristine or aesthetically pleasing surrounding beyond the immediate property.
The services provided at the 21B Motel, as experienced by guests, appear to be highly problematic and fall significantly short of basic hospitality standards. A recurring issue is the condition of rooms upon check-in, with guests finding rooms that were not cleaned or prepared for new arrivals ("Bed wasn't made, no towels," "bed already rustled up and slept in"). Requests for basic services like towels were met with delays or an inability to provide them. The quality of housekeeping service, when present, has also been criticized, with staff reportedly smelling "of alcohol and marijuana." This not only points to a lack of professionalism but also raises concerns about the reliability and safety of staff. Furthermore, key card issues, with a guest receiving a "key for a padlock instead" because the "card lock did not work," indicate fundamental problems with facility management and security. The motel's handling of refunds is also a point of concern, with a guest stating they were not given a refund "even though I didn't spend the night" due to the unacceptable conditions. A particularly troubling aspect of the service relates to the motel's understanding and compliance with regulations concerning service animals. A guest reported that staff "was also not familiar the Fair Housing act concerning my service animal" and "tried to require a deposit even after they were informed she was a service animal and i had shown her certificate." This demonstrates a critical lack of training and adherence to legal requirements for accommodating guests with disabilities. Overall, the services, as described by guests, are highly deficient and contribute to a very negative stay experience, contrary to what most users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" would expect.
The features of the 21B Motel, based on guest reviews, are minimal and often non-functional or poorly maintained. While rooms are equipped with a bed and presumably a bathroom, their condition is consistently described as substandard. Features like air conditioning have been reported as "busted and left wide open," indicating a lack of basic climate control. The security of rooms is also a concern, with a non-functional card lock replaced by a "key for a padlock," which is highly unusual and suggests a severe security vulnerability. Basic in-room amenities like towels are reportedly not consistently available. The general impression is that the motel provides very basic lodging, but even these fundamental features are often compromised by poor maintenance and cleanliness. The absence of specific positive features like a functioning hair dryer or adequate toiletries (as noted in reviews for similar budget properties that are struggling with upkeep) further emphasizes the limited amenities. For a motel of this type, one might expect a television, but its functionality is not mentioned in the provided reviews. The property is located on a state route, implying accessibility by car, and likely offers on-site parking, though this is not explicitly detailed. However, the critical issues with the rooms themselves, including cleanliness, functionality of basic systems, and security, overshadow any potential benefits of its location or minimal features. Guests seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" with reliable, functional amenities and a basic level of comfort would likely find these features to be inadequate at the 21B Motel.
Regarding promotional information, the provided customer reviews offer a stark contrast to any positive messaging the 21B Motel might attempt to convey. Instead of conventional promotions like discounts or special offers, the most prominent "promotional" content available is a series of strong warnings from former guests. Phrases like "Do not stay here," "Better off sleeping in my car," "HORRIBLE," "Filthy," and "Never again" serve as severe deterrents to potential customers. The experiences recounted, such as rooms not being made, dirty linens, foul odors, non-functional amenities (A/C, card lock), and issues with service animals, paint a picture that effectively negates any positive promotional claims. The motel's phone numbers, (518) 731-2721 and +1 518-731-2721, are available for direct contact, but prospective guests are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution based on the overwhelmingly negative feedback. In the context of "Hotels Near Of Me," the information provided functions as a warning for local users to avoid this particular establishment, or at least to be fully aware of the severe quality and service issues reported by multiple individuals. There is no positive promotional information to balance the overwhelmingly negative accounts, suggesting that any marketing efforts would be significantly undermined by the actual guest experiences detailed. Potential guests are essentially being "promoted" away from staying here by the candid and highly critical reviews.

Mar 29, 2018 · Wil SmithHORRIBLE. Filthy. Old. Moldy. A/C was busted and left wide open, the card lock did not work so they gave me a key for a padlock instead. Room service was never even done. Checked in to a room with a bed already rustled up and slept in, Mcdonalds in the trash can from the last guy as well. Oh and his dirty towels on the floor yet. Piss in the toilet. Staff was also not familiar the Fair Housing act concerning my service animal. They tried to require a deposit even after they were informed she was a service animal and i had shown her certificate. Would not recommend anyone stay here. One night was enough for me. Never again.
Aug 13, 2018 · Jordan D. Trotta Sr.We were in parking lot and told we made it look bad! Our Van had died and the tow truck got us off the thruway. We were in the parking lot, and a guy came over and told us that we needed to leave and go somewhere else in the parking lot, because we were making the hotel look bad! Mind you, this hotel has looked terrible for the last 20 years when driving past on the thru way! The resteraunt is closed, and looks trashed outside.
Aug 14, 2022 · Joanna SensenigBed bug and creepy intrusive house cleaning staff warning.. Obnoxious manager. This is by far one of the worst motels we have ever stayed at. We stayed at this place to go hiking the next day. The moment we entered the room and lay in bed within a matter of 5 seconds we were bitten by bugs. On approaching the manager, he suggested that it was us that brought the bugs in and wanted asked us if we had come from another hotel. He then gave us another room and we luckily did not have an issue with this room. Apparently the room he gave us was a personal guest room. At 10:15 am the cleaning guy slides his card into the door and enters our room without knocking. We were awake and thankfully not undressed. Without apologizing he closes the door and walks away. The manager again blames us saying usually people check out at 11 am.. but we told him we are booked in for 2 days. Do not stay here please. I wish I could post a picture of the bites.
Aug 17, 2015 · Karl CorreaDO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT PAY - THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU. This place does not even deserve 1 star!!! I stayed there on Saturday, for a place to get some sleep after driving 5 hours. I have stayed in some poor motels, but this one takes the trophy for the WORST! My non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray with the comforter covered in burn marks. The bathroom was so dirty I could not use it. The light fixtures were duct taped milk jugs. The carpets had so many stains and rips, it looked like the scene from a murder mystery movie. The TV had a garage sale price tag for $30 still on the front of it. The pillows were so brown, I wouldn't give them to a farm animal to use. All other surrounding hotels were sold out. My car was a better option! When asking for a refund, the attendant said the owner was the only one who could do that and he wasn't available but gave us a phone number. Every time called the owner wasn't there and was told to call back at a different time. The owner magically became available when I said I was calling to purchase the property. He would not refund the money. The place is a scam!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! We got no sleep, and felt like our lives were at risk!!
