I got married here a few months ago. It’s a beautiful venue and location but I would not recommend having a wedding here. My husband and I had many issues with the management and how they handled issues that were caused by themselves. They double booked a wedding on our day- told us days before, no apology and we had to fight to keep our day, time and area for ceremony and reception. We were the ones to have to CHANGE the time of our wedding, as they didn’t even think to accommodate. It was a royal mess. They didn’t tell us the truth at first why they needed to change our reception location and then on the day of the wedding tried to reassure us everything would go smoothly with another lady who was taking charge- only a week before. Promises that were made by this new person were not kept- all kind of issues occurred after this. There was no runner to put down on the grass where we had the ceremony so my dress got extremely dirty. During the reception, the servers put out the desserts before our main dish. They didn’t have any electric cords for our DJ as they promised they would. Also, numerous guests and the wedding party did not get ANY appetizers and people had their meals mixed up. Allenberry wanted us to clean up and get out of the reception room before the next wedding party was to come in, which required US to clean up ourselves. They wouldn’t help us. We had to end our time early. When my husband and I slept over for 2 nights, they were supposed to leave appetizers in the room for us but did not do what they said. This is the majority of how our day went. Please do not book with this venue for a wedding. If they would have handled this professionally, we would have given this a better review.

Customer Experience and Staff Excellence

Guest experiences at Allenberry are often highly positive, particularly for family reunions and general stays, with an average rating of 9.6 (Exceptional) from some booking platforms. Guests hosting family reunions have lauded the "incredible" and "attentive" staff, beautiful decorations, and delicious food, specifically praising the beef tenderloin for large groups. Reviews highlight the peaceful surroundings, beautiful grounds, and the sparkling clean facilities. The helpful staff is frequently mentioned as making stays unforgettable.

However, it is important to note that a detailed review concerning a wedding experience highlighted significant issues, including double-booking, management's handling of issues, unfulfilled promises regarding event logistics (e.g., lack of ceremony runner, mix-ups with meal service, and inadequate support for cleanup), and communication problems. This suggests that while the venue is stunning and generally provides excellent service for other types of stays and events, prospective wedding clients should thoroughly discuss and confirm all coordination details with the event planning team.

Overall, for general leisure travelers, family gatherings, or corporate retreats, Allenberry is highly recommended for its serene setting, extensive amenities, and the generally positive and accommodating nature of its staff. The attention to detail in areas like room comfort and the quality of dining is frequently praised.

I hosted a Christmas family reunion for 32 adults and children this past weekend and I cannot say enough great things about the experience. The Crockett room was decorated beautifully, the table setup was exactly what I asked for, and the staff was incredible. We had the dinner buffet and the food was absolutely delicious!! I think every guest came up to me to say how wonderful the food was, the beef tenderloin was the star of the show, which is not easy with such a large group. The staff was so attentive and accommodating throughout the 5 hour party. I’m still getting emails about what a great time everyone had and how beautiful the facility was. Great job allenberry!!

My husband and I have been coming to Allenberry Resort for years to enjoy fly fishing, peace, and quiet, and it never disappoints! The scenic grounds are absolutely stunning, and while the staff is young, they are always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are super comfortable, but now that we’ve welcomed our son, we stay in the cabins, perfect for bringing along our dog for the adventure! The Barn Restaurant serves incredible food and creative cocktails, and I love the touch of local artwork lining the walls. This place has officially become our summer weekend getaway, visiting at least once a month, and of course, we never miss the Fly Fishing Festival! Having TCO Fly Shop less than a mile away is a bonus, whether you need gear or just want to chat with the amazing staff about all things fishing. Can’t wait for our next visit in a few weeks!

I hate leaving negative reviews, however Allenberry will ultimately be okay in spite of this. We made a 6pm reservation for dinner to celebrate a special occasion, however, upon arrival we were told they only had outdoor seating available. It was March and 48 degrees outside with rain

My daughter and son in law chose Allenberry Resort for their wedding venue on New Years Eve, 2024, due to the lovely location and past experiences dining at Allenberry's restaurant numerous times. The entire New Year's Eve experience was fantastic! Brooke (event coordinator) and her team were great! All commitments to include permission around personal decorating, permission for guests to check-in for early, superb food quality and service, friendly and accommodating staff and working hand in hand with our private day event planner exceeded our expectations. The overall atmosphere from cocktail hour in the bar area with live music to the reception area down the lane, to permission for a cigar bar on the deck, overlooking the creek, sparkler send off, ending with champagne toast was awesome! Brooke and team worked extremely well with bride, groom and personal day event planner to make my daughter and son in law's special celebration forever memorable! I would highly recommend Allenberry Resort for your wedding!
