This hotel is so disgusting it clearly shows that the culture of people who run hotels like this don't give a care in the world about the people who live on this side of town. It's rundown, and the roaches are so disgusted that they're having a riot outside! I had to stay here not by choice, but by circumstance. So just please know that if you're booking this place I'm sure you might be facing the same types of circumstance or an emergency situation that caused you to have to come here because this is not a place that you like to sleep. If you leave any food open, and turn on the lights you'll see a mountain of roaches scatter.

Best American Inn Introduce

When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in College Park, Georgia, particularly in the vicinity of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the Best American Inn at 5021 Old National Highway, College Park, GA 30349, USA, may appear as a lodging option. This objective introduction aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the hotel, drawing from publicly available information and direct customer reviews. The hotel can be contacted at (404) 768-0040 or +1 404-768-0040.

It is crucial to note that the customer reviews provided for the Best American Inn paint a very critical picture, and this introduction will reflect those sentiments objectively while also incorporating any general information about the property type and its typical offerings.

Environment and Location

The Best American Inn is situated on Old National Highway, a busy commercial street in College Park, known for hosting numerous budget-friendly hotels and motels due to its proximity to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This location is primarily chosen by travelers seeking convenient, affordable access to the airport. The hotel is near major interstates like I-85 and I-285, which connect to various parts of Atlanta and the surrounding areas.

While the location offers accessibility to the airport and main roads, the immediate environment, as described by customer reviews, raises concerns. Guests have noted the area's overall condition and a perceived lack of upkeep around the property. The general atmosphere in the vicinity might be consistent with an older commercial strip that experiences high traffic and varying levels of maintenance. Public spaces directly outside the motel are reported to have restrictions, with guests being unable to "stand/sit outside the motel" and being required to "stand off property if you just want some air outside your room." This suggests limitations on guest leisure within the immediate hotel grounds.

Parking is typically available on-site for such establishments, and given its nature as a motel, it likely offers free self-parking for guests, which is a common expectation for properties in this price range and location. However, specific details about parking security or availability for large vehicles are not provided in the given information.

Services and Amenities

As a budget-oriented inn, the Best American Inn would typically offer a limited range of basic services and amenities aimed at providing essential lodging at an affordable price point. Based on the general offerings of similar properties in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for budget motels, these might include:

  • Guest Rooms: Standard guest rooms are the primary offering. They would generally include basic furnishings, a private bathroom, and essential utilities like air conditioning and a television. Some budget motels may offer microwaves and mini-fridges in rooms, but this is not explicitly confirmed for Best American Inn based on the provided data.
  • Front Desk Service: A front desk would be available for check-in/check-out and basic inquiries, though the level of staffing and responsiveness can vary significantly, as suggested by review excerpts from similar budget properties.
  • Internet Access: Free Wi-Fi in rooms and public areas is a standard expectation even for budget hotels today, though its reliability and speed can differ.
  • Limited Shared Facilities: Unlike full-service hotels, properties like the Best American Inn typically have very limited shared amenities. One review explicitly mentions that "this motel only has 1 microwave to be used in whole motel," indicating a severe lack of common facilities that might be expected even at a budget level.

Other common amenities found in budget motels that may or may not be present at Best American Inn include: vending machines, laundry facilities (coin-operated), and perhaps minimal coffee/tea service in a common area. There is no information provided about features like a pool, fitness center, or complimentary breakfast for this specific property.

Features and Promotional Information

The most prominent "feature" of the Best American Inn, as derived from the provided customer reviews, appears to be its low price point ("Not a good motel other than the price, but you get what you pay for!!"). For travelers in an "emergency situation" or "circumstance" where affordability is the absolute priority, this hotel might be considered.

However, the overwhelmingly negative customer feedback serves as a critical piece of "promotional information" for any prospective guest. The reviews detail severe concerns regarding cleanliness and hygiene:

  • "This hotel is so disgusting."
  • "It's rundown, and the roaches are so disgusted that they're having a riot outside!"
  • "If you leave any food open, and turn on the lights you'll see a mountain of roaches scatter."

These direct accounts suggest significant issues with pest infestation and general dilapidation. The sentiment that the hotel "clearly shows that the culture of people who run hotels like this don't give a care in the world about the people who live on this side of town" indicates a perceived lack of management oversight and disregard for guest comfort.

Additionally, the restriction on guests standing or sitting outside their rooms is an unusual policy that would significantly impact comfort and convenience, essentially limiting guests to their rooms or requiring them to leave the property for fresh air. This is a highly restrictive feature that potential guests should be aware of.

In terms of typical promotional efforts, budget motels often highlight their proximity to major attractions (like the airport in this case), free parking, and low rates. However, for the Best American Inn, the most readily available "promotional" information comes directly from guests, and it strongly advises caution. The phrase "this is not a place that you like to sleep" underscores a fundamental issue with the property's ability to provide a comfortable and hygienic resting place.

Guest Impressions

The guest impressions are uniformly negative regarding the hotel's condition and cleanliness. Phrases like "disgusting," "rundown," and "roach infested" are direct and unambiguous. The experiences shared suggest a serious deficit in basic hygiene and maintenance standards. The observation about the single microwave for the entire motel, coupled with the outdoor restrictions, points to a very bare-bones operation with minimal consideration for guest amenities or comfort beyond the absolute essentials of shelter.

For individuals explicitly searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with the lowest possible price as their only criteria, and who are aware of the significant compromises involved, the Best American Inn might fit a very specific, emergency-driven need. However, for the vast majority of travelers seeking even basic comfort, cleanliness, and functional amenities, the detailed customer reviews indicate that this property falls short of acceptable standards. Therefore, an objective introduction must strongly emphasize these severe drawbacks based on firsthand accounts.

When I get to this hotel I am 10 short of a room and I'm standing in the lobby trying to get someone to cashapp me 10 for a room and the employee that was working was being very rude with me and I asked him if it was okay we stood in the lobby for a few minutes until I got 10 more dollars sent to me for the room...he didnt even answer my question. As if I were wasting his time or something. I stood there for a few minutes trying to get money sent to me for the room and this employee is just staring me down. It was 20 degrees outside with 10-15 mph winds and me and my girlfriend are both homeless so we had all of our belongings with us. The way this guy kept looking at us while we were waiting to get money sent told me he didn't want us waiting there in that lobby...so I told my girlfriend that we would go wait somewhere else until I got ahold of my friend to send me the 10 dollars. As we are walking off the hotel property...a cop pulls in and is driving around the hotel real slowly...and then comes to a stop where he's just sitting there watching us. Wow...did this guy really just call the cops on us? So we walked to McDonald's to get food, and the cop pretty much followed us the whole way there. So by the time I got to McDonalds my friend sent me 10 dollars and this hotel was the only hotel in the area I could afford for the night so we went back to this hotel and the same employee was at the front desk and was once again being very rude with me by cutting me off when I was speaking, and when I handed him my i.d. so that he could make a copy of it he literally threw it into the hole in the glass where you hand stuff through instead of handing it to me. I was in disbelief. I asked him for his supervisors name but he wouldn't give it to me. I can't believe someone like this is even allowed to work in customer service. Other than the fact that the room had roaches and the hotel soap didn't lather too well this employee that was working night shift really gave this hotel a 1 out of 5 rating for me after being rude with me and even calling the cops on me for no reason and then being rude to me again after I am a paying customer?? If it wasn't so cold outside I would have kept my 65 bucks for the room.

Well at the low price of $65.00 per night, you get what you pay for. If you can bare a little mold in the bathroom, old linen and carpet, roaches from time to time, a microwave in the lobby for general usage, a refridgerator in the room, then this Hotel will do??? The Hotel is actually quite for the location and/or price, also as the best cable selection for any Hotels in that area, with over 200 channels that offers 22 HBO's channels. It is what it is, just a place to rest, lay up or what have you. If you can afford to go somewhere else, then do that and let this Hotel be your last resource?

It's not bad for the price. The price kind of dictates the three stars and the service you get. A lot of people live there. The police is always full. I almost have no rooms. If you're looking for a job to work this is the place you should go. They need housekeepers and maintenance people.
