WORST HOTEL EVER! I was in my room for 5 minutes and a stranger opens my door while i’m using the bathroom!!! They wouldn’t refund me bc i had been there for 20 minutes already! Burns in the blankets, room smelled like smoke, bath tub was black, stains on the sheets, front desk guy is obtuse and useless and isn’t there to help you or fix any problems!! I paid 75$ to use the bathroom and then get harassed! While i was at the front another man was complaining he booked a 2 bed room and was given 1 bed, guy at front tried gaslighting him that it was 2 bed and wouldn’t help him at all! I left because if one person can enter my room then who else can while i’m sleeping! AND BUGS EVERYWHERE
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in College Park, Georgia, particularly for a budget-friendly option close to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the Travelodge by Wyndham College Park is a property that may appear in search results. Located at 2471 Old National Parkway, College Park, GA 30349, USA, this hotel aims to serve travelers seeking economical accommodation near the airport. For inquiries, you can contact them at (404) 381-1745 or +1 404-381-1745.
This introduction provides an objective and comprehensive overview of the Travelodge by Wyndham College Park, incorporating publicly available information about the brand's typical offerings alongside numerous direct customer reviews, which are crucial for a complete understanding of the guest experience at this specific location.
The Travelodge by Wyndham College Park is situated on Old National Parkway, a commercial thoroughfare in College Park known for its cluster of motels and hotels catering to airport traffic. Its key environmental advantage is its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, approximately 3-5 miles away (a 10-minute drive). This makes it a practical choice for travelers needing quick access to the airport for early flights, late arrivals, or layovers.
The hotel's location also offers relatively easy access to major interstates such as I-85 and I-285, facilitating travel to various parts of Atlanta. Nearby points of interest include Camp Creek Marketplace, Georgia International Convention Center, and Gateway Center Arena. The property itself is a 2-story establishment built in 1985 and last renovated in 1997, which might influence its overall appearance and condition compared to newer properties. Free self-parking is available on-site. However, customer reviews frequently highlight concerns about the immediate environment around the hotel, with mentions of "people hanging all around" and feeling "unsafe in the area," particularly at night, which can impact guests' sense of security outside their rooms.
As a Travelodge by Wyndham, this hotel generally offers basic amenities for budget travelers. Advertised services and features typically include:
There is no consistent information regarding a pool or fitness center at this specific Travelodge location in recent reviews or common amenity lists for the property, suggesting these may not be available or reliably operational. The hotel is generally advertised as pet-friendly for small pets (under 5 kg) for an additional charge, though service animals are typically exempt.
The primary "feature" of the Travelodge by Wyndham College Park is its positioning as a low-cost option for travelers requiring proximity to the Atlanta airport. The price point is often cited as the only "good thing" by guests, reflecting the sentiment of "you get what you pay for." As part of the Wyndham family, it participates in the Wyndham Rewards program.
However, the most prominent "features" of this hotel, based on the provided customer reviews, are overwhelmingly negative and raise serious concerns about guest safety, hygiene, and service quality:
As a Travelodge by Wyndham, the hotel would typically be promoted through Wyndham's corporate channels, emphasizing its value, convenient location near major transport hubs, and basic comforts for travelers. Such promotions might highlight "free Wi-Fi" and potentially the "free continental breakfast" (though its presence is debated by reviews).
However, the actual guest impressions, as detailed in the provided reviews, are extremely critical and serve as a stark counterpoint to any standard promotional claims. The strong language used, such as "WORST HOTEL EVER!" and "It is imperative that a thorough evaluation of this facility is conducted," indicates profound dissatisfaction. Guests report being forced to stay "not by choice, but by circumstance," suggesting that it is chosen only out of necessity due to its low price point rather than a desire for comfort or quality. The experiences recounted, from security breaches to rampant infestations and unhelpful staff, severely undermine any positive branding. The sentiment that "Wyndham should rethink on putting their name on this Travelodge because they will lose their reputation" highlights the extent of guest disappointment.
In conclusion, while the Travelodge by Wyndham College Park might appear as a budget-friendly option for "Hotels Near Of Me" near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, an objective review based on extensive customer feedback reveals significant and alarming issues. Prospective guests should be acutely aware of severe reported problems with room security, widespread pest infestations, unhygienic conditions (burns, smoke smell, dirty tubs/sheets), broken amenities (TV, hot water), and exceptionally poor and unhelpful staff service. These concerns indicate that while the price may be low, the overall guest experience is often profoundly negative and problematic, making it a property to approach with extreme caution, likely only suitable in dire emergency circumstances where no other options are available.

May 17, 2025 · katelyn JuilletI have been a rewards member for an extended period and have never previously raised any concerns about a facility. However, my recent experience at the Travelodge where I stayed last night was extremely disappointing. The staff member at the front desk was quite rude, and the condition of my room was unacceptable; the blankets had burn holes, the hot water was non-functional, and I noticed mice entering and exiting a hole in the bathroom. When I requested a different room due to these issues, the front desk staff informed me that all rooms were fully booked, which I later discovered was untrue, as two guests after me were able to secure rooms without prior reservations. I inquired whether canceling my reservation would allow my reward points to be reinstated to my account so that I could find alternative accommodations. He stated that I would need to contact customer service in the morning, which did not address my immediate concerns, leaving me no choice but to remain in the room. It is imperative that a thorough evaluation of this facility is conducted.
Mar 29, 2025 · Rick ColeyRoom smelt like mold, mothballs, and mildew. There was no thermostat. I'm guessing There aren't any in any rooms there the sheets and pillows had so many yellow and black stains even the little fake comforter they give you and you're in the middle of the ghetto plenty of people walking around all night. The people were cool though it was quiet but very nasty and disgusting mold on walls and on ceiling, no refrigerator or microwave even towels and rags were very dirty. Absolutely do not book this hotel. They are in need of renovations.
Mar 02, 2025 · Erin WrightBeware of Roaches! If I can give 0-stars I would. I immediately had a red flag upon arrival when another customer was complaining about roaches in their room. The front desk associate was trying to argue that it was probably the previous guest that brought them in and that they've never seen roaches. It was all lies. When I got to my room I immediately see them scurrying around. I was only in town for 1-day for a funeral and I got in pretty late so 1) I didn't want to bother looking for another hotel. 2) If I tried to ask for a different room, I'm sure I would have the same problem. 3) There were holes and unsealed spaces along the floors and walls so I'm sure the roaches were throughout the facility already. 4) I've stayed at other Travelodges in different states and had more pleasant experiences. Throughout my stay I was cautious about my surroundings. Kept my shoes on the luggage holder and my backpack on a table which I pulled away from any stands or walls, because believe me, the roaches were able to climb things. I was able to get a few winks of sleep in, but kept the lights on and TV on so I wouldn't hear them scurrying around. The times I woke up, I noticed some on the walls, on the stands, and by the time I was ready to get up, I noticed one on the bed!!! I immediately brushed my teeth, washed my face and changed my clothes and skipped the shower and resulted in using my wipes because I saw them crawling around in the shower too! This was probably my worst hotel stay ever. I'm not a very picky person when it comes to where I stay as long as I have a bed to sleep in and a shower to clean myself.
