The good, location is convenient, there’s a huge parking lot and I’m sure it’s nice in the summer. The hotel has complimentary hot breakfast, although limited, it suffices. The not so good… the rooms are extremely outdated, the bathrooms are not clean when we checked in. Dust and stuck on hair on the walls, the vanity peeling, water pressure in the showers is weak. Just overall it felt so icky. The rooms are very dark, the beds are ok.. if you’re used to lush hotel beds these will not be it. The front desk doesn’t take note on things. If two people are checking into a room why are the toiletries provided only for one person for one day, for the entire duration of the stay (4 days). We asked for our rooms to be cleaned and the concierge wrote it down but we came back and the room wasn’t cleaned: we didn’t get any fresh towels after 2 days. From the rooms, hallways, kitchen area, things are sticky, looks dirty. Everything is scuffed. It doesn’t seem like anyone mops or wipes things down. For the price point and the fact that it’s rates 3 stars I expected more: it’s really more 2 stars. And lastly the hotel lacks ventilation, you always smell the pub food up in the hallways of the room floors, the bathroom fan isn’t that strong and the room just feels stuffy. Don’t be fooled by the fact it’s a “best western”. Also the google profile says this hotel offers free parking.. that’s a lie. It’s $10 a night. Literally only stay here if you’re only sleeping.
For those utilizing the "Hotels Near Of Me" search function in the Greater Boston area, the Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston presents itself as a conveniently located option at 29 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02171, USA. Operating with phone numbers (617) 328-1500 and +1 617-328-1500, this Best Western aims to provide a practical stay for both business and leisure travelers. It's important for prospective guests to note that while the hotel offers certain appealing features, recent customer feedback indicates a need for managed expectations regarding the overall condition and specific services.
The Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston boasts a strategic location on the Neponset River in Quincy, offering what can be a pleasant waterfront environment, especially in warmer months when guests can enjoy the views from a gazebo or potential outdoor seating at the pub. Its position provides easy access to downtown Boston, being approximately five miles south on Interstate 93. This makes it an attractive choice for those looking to explore Boston's attractions without paying city prices or taxes. Public transportation is also a notable advantage; the hotel is within a 10-15 minute walk (approximately 0.8 miles) of the North Quincy MBTA Red Line subway station, offering direct access into Boston's core, including destinations like Park Street for connections to the Green Line for Fenway Park or TD Garden.
Beyond Boston, the hotel is well-situated for exploring local Quincy and South Shore points of interest. It is close to significant historical sites such as the Adams National Historical Park (approximately 3 miles away), the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum (around 4 miles), and Wollaston Beach (about 1 mile, which stretches for about 5 miles along the coast of Quincy). Other nearby attractions include Quincy Market and the New England Aquarium. The hotel is also conveniently located for business travelers, with proximity to the Boston convention and exhibition centers, including the Boston Seaport World Trade Center (less than 5 miles), Bayside Expo Center (2 miles), and the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (4 miles), as well as local business districts near State Street Corporation, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of MA, and Boston Scientific. The surrounding area offers a mix of commercial convenience and scenic river views, and a large parking lot is available on-site, although a nightly fee applies, which contradicts some older online information that states free parking.
The Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston provides a range of amenities designed for a comfortable stay. Key services include a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi access throughout the property, and a complimentary hot breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet style, typically offered daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and often includes a choice of breads, cereal, fruit, scrambled eggs, hot breakfast sausage or bacon, yogurt, juice, and coffee. While described as "complimentary hot breakfast" and "suffices" by some, others find it "limited" or note that "the breakfast food ran out," suggesting variability in its quality or availability.
The hotel features an on-site restaurant and bar, The Adams Pub, which serves lunch and dinner daily from 12:00 PM. The pub is noted for its "delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly bartenders," offering a "cozy and comfortable atmosphere" with New England fare, including seafood and traditional dishes like roasted prime rib on weekends. Some guests have praised the "pub food" as "very good" in a "relaxed atmosphere." There's also a seasonal Pub Deck for alfresco dining with river views and sunsets. A fitness center is available, equipped with cardio and strength training equipment, open 24 hours a day. While some online sources might mention an outdoor pool, official Best Western descriptions and recent reviews clarify that the hotel does not offer pool areas. Other general amenities include a lobby fireplace, a business center with a printer, meeting and banquet facilities, a self-serve laundry, and an ATM/banking service.
Guest rooms at the Best Western Adams Inn are equipped with standard comforts such as air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TVs with cable/satellite channels, a refrigerator (in some rooms), a coffee/tea maker, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries (though guests noted toiletries might be insufficient for longer stays or multiple occupants). Hypo-allergenic bedding, in-room safes, desks, and blackout drapes are also listed as common room features. Some rooms offer water views of the Neponset River. Connecting/adjoining rooms are available, and free cribs/infant beds can be requested. Pets are allowed for an extra charge of $25.00 per accommodation, per night, with a size limit of 80 pounds for dogs, and service animals are exempt from fees. Housekeeping services are available, though some reviews indicated inconsistent or absent daily room cleaning unless specifically requested, and issues with replenishing towels and toiletries. The hotel also offers airport shuttle service to Logan International Airport, South Station, and Black Falcon Terminal, with scheduled departures, though recent information indicates that the hotel "no longer offers shuttle service," so this should be confirmed directly with the hotel.
The Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston stands out for its waterfront location and the presence of the Adams Pub, which provides a convenient on-site dining and social option. The ability to enjoy river views from certain rooms and event spaces, along with the gazebo, adds a unique touch, especially during the summer. The large parking lot is a practical feature for guests traveling by car, though the $10 nightly fee is a point of contention among those who expected free parking based on some outdated online descriptions. The hotel's emphasis on hosting events, with its Constitution Pavilion and waterfront landing, suggests a versatile space for gatherings, from business meetings to weddings, including New England clambakes.
A significant aspect of the hotel's offering is its proximity to Boston's public transit. The short walk to the Red Line provides an affordable and efficient way to access downtown Boston without the hassle of city driving and parking, making it attractive for tourists. While it aims to combine "comfort, convenience, and affordability," recent guest reviews frequently mention issues with the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. Terms like "extremely outdated," "bathrooms are not clean," "dust and stuck on hair on the walls," "vanity peeling," "rug was filthy," and "everything is scuffed" appear repeatedly. There are also reports of "rooms smelled," "lack of ventilation," and "pub food smell up in the hallways." The "TV was 20 years old and barely worked" and "weak water pressure in the showers" are also specific complaints. This suggests a disconnect between the hotel's branding and the current guest experience in terms of maintenance and upkeep. On the upside, guests frequently commend the staff for being "very nice," "friendly," "helpful," and "accommodating." Despite maintenance issues, some guests specifically noted "no bedbugs, roaches" and that "shower worked." The hotel operates in two buildings and has three floors, with an elevator for access. The minimum check-in age is 21 years.
The Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston markets itself on offering "Boston convenience without the Boston taxes" and providing "great services and amenities at affordable rates guaranteed!" While the complimentary hot breakfast and on-site pub add value, the reported condition of the rooms and common areas raises questions about the overall value proposition, especially for a property rated by some as 3 stars, with guests suggesting it feels more like a 2-star hotel. The $145.00/night price point mentioned in one review, without discounts, was considered too high given the described issues. General review scores across platforms often fall into the "Okay" to "Fair" range, with cleanliness ratings frequently being lower than other categories (e.g., 6.4/10 for cleanliness vs. 7.6/10 for location). Average scores generally hover around 6.9 out of 10 based on thousands of reviews.
For budget-conscious travelers or those who primarily need a place to sleep and access to Boston via public transport, the hotel's location and basic amenities might suffice. However, guests prioritizing a clean, modern, and well-maintained room experience, or those sensitive to smells and older facilities, may find the Best Western Adams Inn Quincy-Boston to be a disappointing choice despite its convenient location and friendly staff. It's recommended that potential guests review the most recent customer photos and detailed reviews on various booking platforms to get a clearer picture of the current state of the property before making a reservation. The hotel accepts major credit cards for payment and does not accept cash payments.

Jan 14, 2025 · Henry TA bit pricey considering that they don't clean the rooms daily. You have to ask the front desk for things constantly. The staff was very nice though. People were smoking in their rooms, and it was stinking up the halls and other rooms. Also, the room had a few things that maintenance needs to repair.
Apr 26, 2025 · Michael CarusoBreakfast was awesome, hotel was having upkeep done to exterior. Money being put into to the place. Deck outside was nice and view was exeptional.
May 20, 2025 · K BThe price is okay, but you are charged $10 ($11.50 with the "service" fee) a day for parking- in their own private lot. Rooms are furniture are outdated and smell. The smell may be to cover water damage.
Mar 14, 2025 · UzLoLI’ve been staying at the hotel for the past three years when I come to visit my son and his family. usually our stay here is good not great but good. This time will be our last. When I was heading back to my room this evening as I turned the corner to our hallway a mouse came running down the hallway, I reported it to the front desk. A little while later there’s one in my room, again reported it to the front desk she really wasn’t helpful so I told her to have the manager call me tomorrow morning, my poor dog and myself hardly got any sleep. if it wasn’t snowing or so late and not such a long way home I would have left then. I am very disappointed. We will definitely not be back and I’m letting the rest of my family and friends know not to stay here as well in the future.
