I came here and booked the room through work. I DO NOT!!! Recommend staying here. First room I stayed in I found a bed bug on the pillow. Took it to the front desk and told him I would try a different room on a different floor. Well checked that room found another bed bug on the pillow. I checked out. I can almost bet the whole place is infested. A bunch of cracked out people all up and down hallways and lobby just hanging out. Weed smell all throughout the hotel. Do not book here.
For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the Best Western Plus Chelmsford Inn at 187 Chelmsford St, Chelmsford, MA 01824, USA, might appear as an option due to its brand recognition. The hotel's contact number is (978) 256-7511 or +1 978-256-7511. However, it is imperative for prospective guests to be fully aware of significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews, which paint a starkly different picture from what one might expect from a "Best Western Plus" property.
The environment of the Best Western Plus Chelmsford Inn, as depicted by recent guest reviews, is highly concerning and deviates significantly from standard hotel expectations. Instead of a welcoming and well-maintained atmosphere, reviews describe a property with serious issues. One guest reported finding "a bed bug on the pillow" in their first room and "another bed bug on the pillow" after being moved to a different room, leading them to check out entirely. This raises serious questions about pest control and the overall cleanliness of the establishment, with the guest strongly suspecting the "whole place is infested."
Furthermore, the reviews highlight a highly uncomfortable and potentially unsafe social environment within the hotel. Guests report "a bunch of cracked out people all up and down hallways and lobby just hanging out" and a pervasive "weed smell all throughout the hotel." One detailed review poignantly describes the hotel as a place where "the homeless to go out of this cold wet weather," implying a significant portion of the clientele are part of state or local housing programs, such as the CTI (Community Teamwork Inc.) program. While providing shelter is commendable, the review criticizes the hotel management for allegedly neglecting maintenance due to guaranteed occupancy and funding from such programs. This has reportedly led to "dirty" conditions, including "beds are full of so many different peoples hair," "stains," "holes," and towels that are deemed unfit for use. Walls are described as "gross," and cleaning services are questioned, with one reviewer claiming the "house cleaners go in the CTI program rm once a week and they get paid and they dont clean i have pictures i took a couple hrs after they cleaned ....gross." These accounts suggest a severely deteriorated and potentially unhygienic environment.
The exterior and common areas are not immune to criticism. While some online information may describe a terrace and garden, the lived experience for recent guests points to a neglected property. The overall atmosphere, as conveyed by these reviews, is one of despair and discomfort, falling far short of the "Plus" designation in the Best Western brand.
Best Western properties typically advertise a range of services including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, and attentive staff. While the Best Western Plus Chelmsford Inn generally lists these services, the actual execution and impact are severely compromised by the environment described in customer reviews.
The hotel is advertised to offer a "complimentary hot breakfast buffet." However, the cleanliness issues and overall negative perception of the hotel's upkeep cast doubt on the quality and appeal of this offering, even if available. While the hotel website states there's an on-site restaurant called "Moonstones" offering brunch, lunch, and dinner, and a bar/lounge, the broader issues within the hotel might deter guests from utilizing these facilities.
Complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access is listed, but the overall disarray might affect its reliability or perceived value. The hotel also features a fitness center, but its condition is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, leading to uncertainty given the other maintenance issues. A 24-hour front desk is standard, but the overall lack of attention to guest comfort and safety, as implied by the severe issues reported, suggests that staff response to critical problems like bed bugs or heating issues might not be adequate, as demonstrated by the lack of resolution in one of the detailed reviews.
Other listed services include free self-parking, RV/bus/truck parking, ATM/banking services, luggage storage, and dry cleaning/laundry services. These are standard Best Western offerings. The hotel is also listed as pet-friendly, with some sources indicating pets are welcome for an extra charge (around $20 per pet, per night) and service animals exempt. However, given the severe cleanliness and pest issues, guests considering bringing pets should exercise extreme caution and directly confirm the current pet policy and room conditions.
The Best Western Plus Chelmsford Inn reportedly has 112-116 guest rooms spread over 2 to 5 floors. Standard room amenities typically listed include refrigerators, microwaves, Keurig coffee makers, LCD TVs with premium channels, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. Rooms are also said to have air conditioning, safes, and phones with free local calls. Some rooms may feature balconies/terraces. Families can request free cribs/infant beds, and rollaway/extra beds are available for a surcharge.
However, the actual state of these features, as highlighted by multiple reviews, is alarming. Issues reported include:
As a Best Western Plus property, the hotel participates in the Best Western Rewards loyalty program, allowing members to earn points and potentially access exclusive rates. Promotional materials typically emphasize amenities like the free hot breakfast, fitness center, and on-site dining. The hotel's location is generally advertised as being convenient for accessing various local attractions and major routes. It is situated on Chelmsford St, offering easy access to I-495 (exit 34), making it accessible to surrounding areas.
The hotel is approximately 27 miles (about 30 minutes) from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and around 10 miles from Laurence G. Hanscom Field (BED). It is also positioned for access to nearby cities like Lowell, home to the University of Massachusetts Lowell (approx. 3 miles away), Lowell National Historical Park (approx. 3-3.5 miles), and the Tsongas Arena. Other nearby attractions include Jack Kerouac's Grave, Cambodia Town, and various museums. The hotel is also about 23 miles from Peabody Museum and 22 miles from Minute Man National Historical Park.
However, given the severe negative reviews regarding the internal conditions and environment of the hotel, the perceived advantages of its location or any promotional offers are likely to be overshadowed for most travelers. The extremely poor guest experiences, particularly concerning cleanliness, pest infestations, and the general state of the property, suggest that any short-term savings on price would come at a significant cost to comfort, well-being, and peace of mind.
In conclusion, while the Best Western Plus Chelmsford Inn is geographically located in Chelmsford, MA, and part of a known hotel chain, the overwhelming and severe negative feedback from recent guests cannot be ignored. The reported issues regarding bed bugs, unsanitary conditions, lack of maintenance, and a challenging guest environment indicate that this property may not meet even basic standards of hospitality. Prospective guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" are strongly advised to consider these serious concerns and explore alternative accommodations in the area that can offer a clean, safe, and comfortable stay.

I was floored馃槶馃槶馃槩 I have been living in my Car since the begging of the winter i have had some hard times and used all my savings staying at hotels at first when landlord sold the house. And ran out of money. After cold cold nights crying it took me everything to ask for help on top of thinking of having to share a room with a stranger...i finally got up the courage and ended up at Best western in Chelmsford, Ma. I was so excited to finally get out of the cold and maybe try to work on my Mentaly state and hopefully get passed everything and find more permanet housings situation so i could feel a little normal again. But after staying there for a weekend i was gaging and crying even more. I had to leave and felt so so bad for the other people thatbhad to stay. I am back in my car and cry because its so cold and i am extremely depressed not being with my 16 yr old daughter that i cant breath sometimes thinking about it. And just pray for something good to happen. I get worried and sick to my stomach because i couldnt afford to keep my insurance on my car the registration has been revoked and i am worried and cry because i have to think about getting pulled over or them running my plates when i am parked trying to sleep. And have the only thing i have left taken from us.

Oct 29, 2024 路 South Paw (Pablo E.)The hotel staff are very friendly. The rooms are nice. The neighborhood is a quiet area. Here is where my bad review comes into play. This is no longer a Best Western. They are housing long time individuals that are seeking help for addiction. That is amazing for people that need it. My problem with this is I wasn鈥檛 given the information and opportunity to decide for myself if I wanted to continue to stay or have my company pay at a different hotel. Nothing was communicated. I only found out by accident.
