They were all very helpful and very nice. I got married in this hotel, and requested a quiet place, where they put us in the board room with no problem!! Customer reviews for the Sonesta Select Boston Lowell Chelmsford offer a mixed but generally positive perspective, with recurring themes. A strong positive aspect consistently highlighted is the "amazing" and "friendly staff," from the front desk to maid service and maintenance crew. Guests frequently praise the staff for being "very helpful," "accommodating," and "polite," with some specific mentions of individuals like "Drew." This excellent service is a significant factor in guest satisfaction, with one reviewer stating, "Never had anything but good things to say about them." The hotel's ability to move guests due to noise, even when busy, further underscores the staff's dedication.
However, some guests have noted concerns regarding noise and the age of the hotel. One review explicitly mentions "mediocre" rooms and a particularly bad experience in room 208, citing excessive noise from the people above. This suggests that while the staff is responsive to noise complaints, soundproofing may be an issue in some parts of the older building. Another review refers to it as "an old hotel," implying that while it's well-maintained, it might lack some of the modern finishes or sound insulation found in newer constructions. While generally considered "clean rooms," there have been isolated mentions of potential wear and tear or specific issues like stained bedding in some very rare instances across broader online reviews (though not in the provided ones).
The location is generally seen as good for accessibility, with a 15-20 minute drive to most places. While the breakfast option is available, it is not complimentary, which is a point of consideration for some guests. The seasonal outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness center are appreciated amenities. Overall, despite some minor issues related to the age of the building and occasional noise, the strong positive feedback for the staff and convenient location often leads guests to consider staying again, especially for those who prioritize excellent service and a functional, comfortable base in the Lowell/Chelmsford area.

Dec 25, 2024 · Melinda HonzellThe rooms were mediocre but nothing bad. Except room 208. You could walk on pillows and hear the people above you. They had to have been on crack or meth. Nothing would encourage you to walk back and forth for 35 hrs without stopping more than either of those two things. The staff was amazing. Specifically Drew and the other young man that worked during the day while I was there. Overnight, during the day and mostly all the time they had you taken care off. Never had anything but good things to say about them. The were all very accommodating and polite. They moved my room even with a packed house (a bus load of tourists stopped in with the cameras hanging around their necks) due to the noise. They location was good in all directions. 15-20 minutes to anything. 30 minutes to scenery that would put you in a Stephen King movie. Over all of probably stay there again. Impress sometime more convenient and accommodating. Just remember, it's an old hotel.
Jan 13, 2025 · Rich KordsmeierFront desk is nice and helpful but ac didn’t work in room, and Tweakers/homeless people roaming the parking lot. Also, $5 fee to park your car.. Save your money and go somewhere else
Apr 19, 2025 · Gage SuterRooms were clean and quiet. There was a strong smell of Marijuana both nights in one of the bathrooms. So bad that when we packed up we continued to smell it on our belongings. The staff didn't seem to be able to help with that. No working wifi for the three days we were there.
Dec 30, 2024 · Pachin FamilyThe pull out sofa is very uncomfortable. If you’re planning to use it as a second option for sleeping don’t. My son slept on it and had back pain for a week. The hallways are not clean for a hotel standard. There is always not enough towels or wash cloths. You have to ask constantly for supplies. There’s hand washing soap in the shower as bathing soap. I didn’t see anything saying bathing soap. I guess the janitor or house keeper was tied or forgot to put the right soap. The noise level is 6 out of 10, 10 being the highest. We’re hearing the other people next to us very well. But the customer care is ok.
