Me and my children were given a first floor room. I was small, outdated and dusty and facing the parking lot which I wasn’t comfortable with. My son has terrible allergies and immediately started sneezing. I requested another room and was told that there were no clean rooms. Mind you it was a weekday and the hotel was not busy! I just dealt with the room because I was tired from a 9 hour drive from DC. The tv randomly stopped working and then began to change channels on its own. I called the front desk and maintenance came to fix it. He was very pleasant. I started to complain when the person next to me kept letting the door slam from around 8pm until the next afternoon. I called and complained at least 3 times letting the front desk staff know my concerns, and was told she is trying to find a room. I decided to go to the front desk and ask for a manager. When she came out she said that she had to try to find a room, and I mentioned how the hotel wasn’t busy and there should be a room we can go to. She eventually gave me another room and it was clean, spacious, and updated. I don’t like how me and my brown children were treated by the manager or the other 2 front desk agents that I encountered. On a more positive note, the maintenance staff and the women working in the kitchen were amazing. I honestly feel that me and my children were treated unfairly because of our race. I will never spend my money with this establishment again.

While some rooms are described as clean, spacious, and updated, others have been characterized as small, outdated, and dusty. Issues with shower conditions have also been mentioned. Furthermore, concerns regarding AC unit functionality have arisen, with guests reporting units not blowing cool air or displaying errors. These inconsistencies in room quality and amenity functionality are important considerations for potential guests.
Another point of concern raised by a past guest is the experience with front desk staff and management. There have been reports of initial unresponsiveness to room change requests, perceived unfair treatment, and difficulties in resolving issues such as noisy neighbors. While a resolution was eventually provided, the process was described as challenging. This highlights a need for consistent customer service training and responsiveness across all levels of staff, particularly at the front desk, to ensure all guests feel welcomed and respected.

However, for those desiring a more consistent and premium experience, exploring options closer to I-85 might be advisable, as suggested by a past guest.

Apr 17, 2025 · Brittany FountainOkay so we've been using the Best Western for years for Carolina carnage. Its got its good and its got its not so good. The good is that it's pretty centrally located from the T. Ed Garrison arena and plenty of food options down the road. The rooms are, mostly okay there's some issues with the condition of the showers in my experience but things have worked and good enough to just crash and sleep at. The not so good is that after some management changes the there been some issues with turn down of rooms and the AC units. In my most recent stay the AC unit didn't want to blow cool air, which in Feb can be a hit or miss, I explained this to front desk but I was told that this was apparently due to the units being stacked so that since the rooms below me weren't on cool that it didn't work that way. Now I'm not an expert but a half split unit to me doesn't seem like that's how it would function. I also was constantly getting an error on the AC unit itself that even with a reset would continue to do it. Breakfast is provided but it seems that they don't have the staff to keep it full stocked when there's a large number of people there. The attached restaurant is pretty good if a bit slow in service but that's a different review. All in all if you just need a place to crash for the night it's great and gets the job done overall, but if you want a little more maybe look closer to 85..
Feb 04, 2025 · Aaron JDuring my week-long stay last month, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional service provided by Ms. Jana. Her prompt assistance and friendly demeanor made my visit truly memorable. One morning, I encountered issues with my map application while planning a business meeting. Ms. Jana immediately stepped in, offering detailed directions and even suggesting alternative routes to avoid traffic. Her local knowledge was invaluable and saved me considerable time. Additionally, as a coffee enthusiast, I was delighted to discover the hotel's 24-hour self-serve coffee machine in the common area. This machine offered a variety of options, from espresso to cappuccino, catering to diverse preferences. Ms. Jana took the time to demonstrate its features, ensuring I could enjoy my preferred brew whenever I wished. This personal touch added a homely feel to my stay. Moreover, Ms. Jana ensured my room was impeccably clean and comfortable throughout my stay. Her attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident in every interaction. In an era where exceptional customer service is rare, Ms. Jana's dedication stands out. I look forward to returning and highly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a welcoming and accommodating environment. Thanks Best Western & Jana! Cris
Jan 16, 2025 · Cris LebronDO NOT stay at this hotel. My father visits me every so often and I offer to pay for his hotel room. We were told upon arrival that we would have to pay $250 cash to stay ON TOP of the $150 I already paid. First let me say nothing at all in this hotel is worth $300+ secondly the room was dirty. Socks, straw wrappers, dirt, bugs. Kym was especially rude and unforthcoming with why this new policy was in place. The rooms are not worth the price the service is not worth the extra cash and the location doesn’t make it a great place to stay. If you have charges they should be posted somewhere. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Apr 29, 2025 · Julie GIncompetent management- be warned! I booked a room for Clemson's Family Weekend, for which I applied several gift cards during the reservation process. The Best Western gift cards that had been entered during booking were NOT applied, meaning my credit card was billed the full amount. I have been trying to get this resolved and refunded for over 4 months and it is exhausting. This is an issue between corporate and the hotel itself- not the customer. Best Western corporate does not get involved because this is managed/owned by a third party. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again, nor will I stay at any Best Western Property- and I encourage anyone else to look elsewhere for a hotel stay. There are several others in the area that are managed and operated with honesty and integrity. DO NOT STAY HERE!
