My wife and I were in Clemson for a dog show showing our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy. The service was very good. The room was clean and well set up. The dog walk area was close and easily accessible. We loved the town of Clemson. Very pretty, altho I imagine it gets a little more crowded once the colleges started up again. Lots off nice shops and restaurants .

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn many times as our child goes to CLEMSON. Unfortunately this hotel has gone way down hill. The room has the smell of mold, the tile floors in the hallway and bathroom are sticky, the wall tiles are broken, loose and pushed in, the toilet paper rolls have to is on the vanity as the holder is broken / missing. The worst, is the shower is growing mold to a point I decided not to take a shower. However, my wife reported that the shower head was loose ! Also only one elevator works All these things add up to lack of effort and poor management. I feel this is a fair assessment of the conditions found in the room. This is very disappointing. FYI, proper care, repairs and cleaning would go a long way. They should also invest in some RMR MOLD and mildew cleaner.

Absolutely rude customer service does not even deserve one star. I travel for work and this one time, I noticed this particular hotel advertised as pet friendly. I called ahead asking about the fees for one small dog. I get there to check in and paid the $75 pet fee upon check in. My company paid for the reservation. I spent almost a week at this hotel. On my last night staying there, I came back from work and was met with the RUDEST person named Joy who banged on my door and acted as if I was hiding having a dog in my room. She stated "We KNOW you have a dog in there!!" Yes, I paid for him to be here. She said "No you didn't!". Yes, I did at check in. She then said that they had multiple complaints all week about my dog. This was the first time I was made aware that he was barking during the day. They claimed they could not get a hold of me. She said that they were going to call animal control if I did not leave the next morning with my dog. Again, not one person called me or emailed me. I have screenshots of my phone call log without any calls from them. I called the front desk asking to speak to the GM. A very rattled desk agent gave me her personal number to speak with her. When I called her, she said that they called the number listed 6 times that day. I said I had not received one call from the hotel. She said my information was incorrect then. Lies. I checked in and verified my number was on file. The CORRECT number. It is also on my reservation email. After being accused of lying, and being unable to reach, and the threat of them getting my dog taken away, I decided to leave and make a 4 hour drive back home at night while shaken up by the whole situation. I was not going to stay in a hotel when I was being gaslit as being the bad guy when clearly no one there did their job correctly and I ended up paying the price for their incompetence. I have screenshots of the $75 I paid, the call logs, the reservation email and my Hilton rewards information all being correct. If my dog was an issue "all week", why did not one person tell me something on day one or any other day during the week. When I was leaving, Joy, did not even bother getting up from her dinner date in the lobby to let me check out and told me to just put my keys on the counter. Again, treating me as if I was the bad guy. I have never been so mistreated by hotel staff and the situation was handled VERY poorly. The fact that the GM and staff threatened to take my dog away with animal control because they could not get a hold of me, was what hurt me the most. Your staff had the correct number on file but actually did not attempt to call me. You were covering up that someone also did not put on my reservation that I paid to have my dog there. Where did that $75 charge on my card go then? Ask him that. Because someone dropped the ball at check in, it's now my fault? I really hope your staff gets trained to handle situations better rather than making a guest feel very unwelcome and like a criminal.

Refused to let us rent a room to my son because his residence is in Anderson and they don't allow locals to stay there. I guess they'd rather have an empty room making no money and send my kid out on the slick, snowy roads in his little pickup truck. Nice.

Good clean hotel. Booked a night due to Helene power outage to get shower and good night's sleep. Firm but comfortable bed, the pillows had a bit of odor to them. Good shower, just be careful stepping in and out of the tub as it's very sloped inside. Breakfast average but coffee was very good. Quiet room even though the hotel is right on Hwy 123. We made a good choice when we booked the Hampton Inn.
