Stayed here with my mom last Friday and this place was good. The elevators were nice, the staff were helpful, and the bathrooms were pretty good. The pool looked pretty nice, and I would’ve loved to swim in it if it weren’t cold outside. I was a little disappointed to not find any microwave or mini fridge in the studio room we stayed in. My main complaints are the train track right across the street making some noise at night and the keycard readers in the elevators not always correctly reading a tap.

This place was so much better than anything I dreamed of. The room was spotless, fully equipped, and exceeded all my expectations. The staff was delightful, and the location was near everything I was in Clemson for. I look forward to my next stay and may go sooner just for pleasure.

I’m giving this place a one-star review solely because of the front desk lady who worked on Saturday, November 9. She was not only unhelpful but also incredibly rude to every member of our party—so much so that everyone complained to me about her behavior, as I was the wedding host. Throughout her interactions with each member, she rolled her eyes, showed clear annoyance when answering questions, and acted as though doing her job was a burden. The most frustrating part was when we were on our way to the chapel, and I explained that the bride’s bouquet was in the room, but we had left the key inside. Instead of helping us promptly, she got an attitude and told us we’d have to wait until she was finished with her tasks, even though time was of the essence. When I requested she walk me to the room, she refused and said I’d have to wait for a new key—adding even more delay during such a critical moment. It felt as if she took pleasure in making the situation more difficult than it needed to be. Her actions didn’t just upset me; they upset the bride, the photographers, the videographer, the bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, the makeup artist, and more. This woman’s lack of professionalism and hospitality was astounding. She either has a major personal issue or is in the wrong position entirely. Standing around and chatting with others when she should have been helping guests is unacceptable for someone in a hospitality role, especially at a wedding. Management should seriously consider her suitability for this position, as her behavior is not reflective of the service you’d expect from a reputable establishment.

Sat out on their patio for lunch, the sun got a little too hot in my area and I asked if they could move the umbrella closer to my table to blow the sun, The manager refused 3 times. Food was amazing otherwise and so was our server. I will say if I'm paying to eat at your place of business as a customer I should feel comfortable in my settings but I did not.

According to family and friends, past stays of L.L. were positive but...as I heard from many others who were making repeat stays, as of late, the service at L.L has been far from stellular! It was my first stay the lodge and I was extremely disappointed with both my stay and how the L.L failed to rectify the situation/make it better. Upon arrival there were long lines to check into the rooms (There was usually only one person working the desk who did his very best to keep things moving!) After check in, I then arrived to a room the was not clean. Again due to under staffing, for the duration of my stay, the room remained as dirty as when I arrived. (Housekeeping didn't even come to see the condition of the room until the night before I was checking out.) The hotel offered no "incentive" to fix the problem- i.e.- a free meal in the dining room, a discount on the next stay, money refunded for some of the stay.... I pursued a favorable response (the stay was not inexpensive ) from the customer service department for weeks and my calls and emails when unanswered (until I mentioned posting a negative posting...which I am now doing). Finally all that was offered was a 10% off a future stay (which can't be used during any Clemson University special occasions or holidays) so basically a useless offer. This is one of the worst experiences I had with a customer service department and, though the Lodge is close to Clemson University, it is doubtful I will stay at this establishment again. It is a shame that L.L. would treat Clemson families visiting their loved ones so poorly... P.S. Concerning the owner's response, energy should be focused on how to improve the facility, guest services and their treatment of the guests considering many of the "latest" reviews. And, as I mentioned in my review, the discount offered can't be used when most relatives of Clemson students would be staying at L. Lodge.
