Absolutely outstanding about everything and every detail. We were there for a wedding reception. The service and staff were properly trained to do the perfect job that each did. The grounds were manicured and well maintained. The employees could not have been more gracious and courteous. They were very aware of our every need and promptly took care of it. Loved being there.
For local users and discerning travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category for an unparalleled luxury experience in the Berkshires, Blantyre stands as an iconic and truly exceptional destination. Located at 16 Blantyre Rd, Lenox, MA 01240, USA, Blantyre is not just a hotel; it is a meticulously preserved Gilded Age mansion transformed into a world-class resort, known for its opulent ambiance, impeccable service, and gourmet culinary offerings.
The environment at Blantyre is consistently described as "absolutely outstanding" and "FA BU LOUS," reflecting its status as a premier luxury property. The centerpiece is the astonishing mansion itself, a stunning example of Gilded Age architecture that transports guests back to an era of grandeur and elegance. The interior is meticulously decorated with authentic antique furniture and a collection of great books, creating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere that is rich in history and character. Each room is uniquely designed, adding to the sense of discovery and personalized charm, with "a little something in it" that makes it distinct. The overall aesthetic is one of curated luxury, far removed from the uniformity of typical chain hotels.
Beyond the mansion, the grounds of Blantyre are a significant part of its allure. They are described as "manicured and well maintained," hinting at expansive, beautifully landscaped gardens and outdoor spaces that provide a serene and picturesque setting. This attention to detail extends to every corner of the property, creating an immersive experience of refined beauty. The service at Blantyre is consistently lauded as one of its strongest assets, reaching a level of "perfection" according to guests. The staff are described as "properly trained to do the perfect job," "gracious and courteous," and "very aware of our every need," promptly taking care of any requests. A major highlight of the Blantyre experience is its culinary program, particularly the French restaurant. The dining is consistently praised, with guests noting the "quality of the service and the French restaurant" as a key factor in the hotel's greatness. While specific dishes are not detailed in the provided reviews, the general consensus is that the food is exceptional. However, booking a table at this highly successful restaurant can be a complex and non-transparent process. Guests have reported difficulties finding availability on online platforms like OpenTable and reaching the reservation line by phone, often requiring leaving messages. This indicates the restaurant's popularity and demand, and while understandable, suggests a need for a more streamlined booking system for hotel guests. Despite this potential challenge, the dining experience itself is considered worth the effort.
Beyond dining, Blantyre offers a range of luxury services. The hotel features a gym described as "great," indicating well-maintained fitness facilities. A pool is also available and well-regarded, providing opportunities for relaxation and recreation. While the hotel does have a spa, guest feedback suggests it "could be improved with better therapists and a nicer atmosphere," with one specific complaint regarding a prenatal massage lacking attention to client needs. This indicates that while the spa is present, it may not consistently meet the high standards set by other areas of the hotel. Efforts to promote on-site activities could also be improved, as guests found it "hard to know what to expect out of it."
Blantyre offers a variety of accommodations, all designed with the same attention to detail and luxury. The fact that "the rooms are all different and each one has a little something in it" speaks to the unique character and individualized design of each space, moving beyond standardized layouts. These rooms are likely spacious and equipped with high-end furnishings that complement the Gilded Age aesthetic. Given its luxury status, guests can expect premium bedding, luxurious bathroom amenities, and modern conveniences discreetly integrated into the historic setting. While not explicitly detailed in the provided text, features such as complimentary Wi-Fi, turndown service, and personalized touches are typical of properties of this caliber.
Beyond the rooms, the core features include the impressive mansion itself, serving as a grand common area for guests. The "great" pool and gym facilities are significant amenities, offering leisure and wellness opportunities. The renowned French restaurant is a central feature, providing a sophisticated dining experience. The presence of manicured grounds and beautiful outdoor spaces allows for leisurely strolls and enjoyment of the Berkshire scenery. Blantyre is also a popular venue for events, particularly wedding receptions, indicating its capacity for large-scale gatherings and its picturesque setting for special occasions. The hotel's affiliation with Relais & Châteaux, a collection of independent luxury hotels and restaurants, further underscores its commitment to exceptional service and culinary excellence, hinting at a global standard of quality.
Blantyre is promoted as an exclusive luxury retreat, often highlighting its Gilded Age heritage, exceptional service, and world-class dining. For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Berkshires and seeking a truly indulgent escape, Blantyre positions itself as the ultimate choice, even with its high price point, which guests generally consider "worth the price." The hotel's appeal lies in its ability to offer an immersive experience that feels both historic and impeccably serviced. Promotional materials would likely emphasize its suitability for romantic getaways, elegant weddings, and discerning travelers looking for a unique and memorable stay.
Its location in Lenox, Massachusetts, places it within easy reach of the region's cultural attractions, including Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and various art museums and historic sites. This makes it an ideal base for experiencing the best of the Berkshires while returning to a haven of luxury. The strong word-of-mouth from highly satisfied customers, who "loved being there" and describe it as "FA BU LOUS," serves as powerful organic promotion. While the restaurant booking process and spa experience are areas where minor improvements could enhance the overall guest journey, Blantyre's core strengths in ambiance, service, and dining firmly establish it as a top-tier luxury destination in the Northeast. Jun 15, 2021 · Pamela CaponeThis place is FA BU LOUS. It's expensive but it's worth the price. The mansion is astonishing. They did a perfect job finding antique furnitures and great books. The rooms are all different and each one has a little something in it. But more importantly what makes this place great is the quality of the service and the French restaurant. The pool and the gym are great. However, the spa could be improved with better therapists and a nicer atmosphere. Their prenatal massage lacked of attention. For example, they didn't provided help to lie down or stand up. In addition, I wish they could promote better their on-site activities as it's hard to know what to expect out of it. Finally, booking a table at the restaurant was a very complicated and not transparent process. I understand that you need to book in advance because of their success but I never managed to find an open spot on open table and they rarely answer the phone (you have to leave a message). I wish that they would have something sorted out for the hotel guests at the time of the booking. So definitely stay and dine there but maybe go get your massage somewhere else...
Oct 03, 2021 · Hadrien GLAUDEExcellent food. Absolutely beautiful venue. Went there for birthday celebration in a party of 8. Our first drinks took 15 min, arriving in 3 phases. Otherwise service was acceptable. Dinner was superb and moderately priced for a fine restaurant. After dinner we moved to another room and enjoyed a fine piano player for an hour. He played numerous requests for us and was a highlight of the evening.

We dined outside at a table surrounded by beautiful green ivy on the walls and a view . Dinner was delicious and relaxing. Fresh ingredients. What a nice surprise. The pianist was wonderful. Go. You will feel like you are in the Gilded Age. So cool! We will be back.
