For discerning travelers seeking a truly luxurious and comprehensive resort experience in Bar Harbor, Maine, the Bluenose Inn stands as an exceptional choice under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Located at 90 Eden St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609, USA, this resort hotel offers a sophisticated blend of elegant accommodations, breathtaking natural beauty, and a wide array of amenities designed to cater to every aspect of a memorable vacation.
The environment of the Bluenose Inn is one of its most striking features. Perched atop a granite-terraced hillside, the resort boasts sweeping, panoramic views of Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, a sight that captivates guests from the moment they arrive. This elevated position ensures a sense of tranquility and exclusivity, while still maintaining convenient access to the vibrant heart of Bar Harbor town and the majestic landscapes of Acadia National Park. The lush grounds, featuring garden paths and outdoor sitting areas, contribute to the serene atmosphere, allowing guests to relax and soak in the coastal Maine ambiance. Whether it's catching the sunrise over the bay or unwinding amidst the natural beauty, the Bluenose Inn's setting is truly idyllic.
The Bluenose Inn comprises two elegant guest buildings: the luxurious Mizzentop and the more recently added Eden Building. The Mizzentop building is classic and refined, housing the registration office, gift shop, business center, and the inviting Great Room Piano Lounge. The Eden Building, as highlighted by recent guest reviews, is an impressive addition, featuring nautically themed rooms that feel more like a private beach house than a traditional hotel room. This new building offers a modern, apartment-style experience, perfect for families or those planning longer stays. Guests consistently praise the "brand new building" and its contemporary feel.
The services at the Bluenose Inn are designed to provide a seamless and indulgent stay. The staff is repeatedly commended for being "very friendly" and professional, contributing significantly to the positive guest experience. A 24-hour front desk ensures that assistance is always available. While breakfast is typically offered at the on-site Looking Glass Restaurant for a fee, it's consistently praised for its quality and, crucially, for offering "ocean views," which adds to the dining experience. The resort also offers complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby, a thoughtful touch for guests throughout the day.
The features and amenities at the Bluenose Inn are extensive, catering to both relaxation and activity. A major draw is the impressive pool area, which includes both an oversized outdoor heated pool with a sun deck and an elegant indoor heated pool. Guests can also enjoy a hot tub and a steam room for ultimate relaxation. For those looking to maintain their fitness, a modern fitness center equipped with various exercise machines and free weights is available. Spa services are also offered for an additional fee, providing opportunities for rejuvenation.
Entertainment is a key component of the Bluenose Inn experience. The Great Room Piano Lounge is a beloved feature, hosting live piano performances six nights a week by a resident pianist, creating a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere for evening enjoyment. This unique offering sets the Bluenose Inn apart from many other accommodations in the area, providing a charming social hub for guests.
The guest rooms and suites across both buildings are well-appointed and designed for comfort. Rooms in the Mizzentop building feature classic decor, while the Eden Building apartments are particularly noteworthy. These new units offer a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, making them ideal for families or guests who prefer to prepare their own meals. They also feature a spacious living room with an electric fireplace, a 55-inch Smart TV, a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed, and a writing desk. The king-size beds are described as "chef's kiss" for a good night's sleep. Most rooms, particularly in the Eden Building, boast private balconies with incredible views of Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, perfect for snapping photos and enjoying the scenery. Bathrooms are well-equipped, with features like oversized walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, bidet toilet seats, double vanities, plush robes, and make-up mirrors, adding to the luxurious feel. In-room amenities typically include mini-fridges, coffee/tea makers, in-room safes, and signature bedding. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, ensuring guests stay connected.
Additional conveniences at the resort include a business center, gift shop, laundry facilities, and complimentary bike rentals, encouraging guests to explore the beautiful surroundings. The hotel also offers a free shuttle service into downtown Bar Harbor, which is a significant advantage given parking challenges in the bustling town center, allowing guests to explore shops and restaurants without worry.
Promotional information for the Bluenose Inn would emphasize its status as a luxury resort with unparalleled views and comprehensive amenities. Key selling points would include the stunning location on Frenchman Bay, the convenience to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, and the exceptional range of facilities: dual heated pools (indoor and outdoor), hot tub, steam room, fitness center, and live piano entertainment. The newly added Eden Building, with its apartment-style rooms and fully furnished kitchenettes, would be a major highlight for families and those seeking extended stays or a self-catering option. The "phenomenal" staff and the consistently praised clean rooms and awesome views would be central to its marketing. The on-site Looking Glass Restaurant, with its highly-rated breakfast and bay views, is another strong draw. Guests can contact the hotel directly at (207) 288-3348 or +1 207-288-3348 for reservations and inquiries. The Bluenose Inn positions itself as the ultimate choice for those seeking a premium "Hotels Near Of Me" experience in Bar Harbor, offering both elegance and a wealth of conveniences for an unforgettable Maine vacation.

The new Eden building is an impressive addition to the Bluenose Inn! The nautically themed rooms feel more like a private beach house than a hotel room, giving one the feeling of being simultaneously "at home" and on vacation. The living room and fully-furnished kitchenette (including a dishwasher!) make the stay perfect for families, and stepping out on the balcony is sure to make you start snapping photos of the incredible view. When the sun finally sets after a long day of shopping downtown or exploring neighboring Acadia National Park, a good night's sleep on the king-size bed is the chef's kiss. We can't wait to stay at Eden again!
May 22, 2025 · Inna StoyanovaGreat place to stay! Very friendly staff. Very clean rooms. Awesome views from the room that has a little balcony. Love the brand new building! Great location - close to downtown Bar Harbor.
May 11, 2025 · Bethany BlakeNice little place right outside of Bar Harbor downtown. We only stayed for one evening, but it was a good little place to stay nicely. Spread out poor jacuz. Zi's steam room nice view of the harbor from the top floor service was great.Check in was seamless and it's the first time I can remember having an actual key to open up the lock to the hotel room.Door
Nov 01, 2024 · LAND ROVEROur stay was good. The rooms were spacious and clean upon arrival. The cleanliness decreased with our stay. The hotel is a long walk to downtown yet close to Acadia. The front desk seemed to be short staffed as every interaction we had we had to wait as they were on the phone. The Looking Glass restaurant has a beautiful view and that's where the experience ends as the food lacked flavor.
Jul 22, 2024 · B ShellThe Blue Nose Inn was in a good location for walking into downtown Bar Harbor and has plenty of parking. Our room was very large with a sitting area and balcony with good views of the harbor. It’s a clean and well-maintained hotel, but the decor is very dated. The vibe is that of a nice assisted living facility! We did not trust the hotel enough to eat there.
