We had an amazing stay here. We didn't spend many nights, as we were just making a short stop at Bar Harbor, but I have to say that this hotel has the best staff that you could ask for. The hotel staff is super friendly, very knowledgeable about the town, the area, and will help you with all your needs while staying here. I was traveling with a little one (2 year old at the time) who wouldn't stop running around with me chasing him everywhere, and they helped me get him comfortable by giving him a nice stuffed toy, which he loved instantly, and when we tried to pay for it they said that it was a gift to our son for visiting their hotel. We were so grateful because none of his other toys were calming him down except for the plush that he was given here. We had a very good experience eating here, they had a varied menu for everyone (including our kids) and I have to say that everything was very good (it's not a Michelin star restaurant but their food was much better than that of most hotels that we've visited). We have stayed at hundreds of hotels around the US and their staff is much higher than the average hotel staff. I definitely recommend that you stay in one of the rooms with a balcony to relax looking at the bay, and hopefully a nice view of the moon during the sunset. Their rooms are a very good size, unlike most new hotels these days where everything is very tight to get as many rooms as possible. They have plenty of parking space (free parking when we visited), just be careful if you visit during the winter, as it's very easy for it to be icy and slippery. You have the ferry right next to the hotel if you are coming/going to Canada. Bar Island is very close (but not close enough for you to go walking, you have to drive a little bit). We hope to stay there during our next stay at Bar Harbor, hopefully soon, as we got a very good experience during our last trip there. Thank you so much to the hotel staff for being super nice to us, keep it that way and I hope that lots of people can visit this hotel and enjoy your stay as much as we did! ❤️

Additional Services: Other convenient services include laundry facilities, a gift shop, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. The hotel is also noted for being a smoke-free property. It is important to note that, as of recent information, the hotel does not allow pets or emotional support animals, with the exception of service dogs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. This policy should be confirmed by guests traveling with animals.
The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center is ideal for a broad audience, with its promotional messaging for "Hotels Near Of Me" emphasizing its unique combination of location, amenities, and service.
Target audiences include:
Families with children: The spacious rooms, indoor/outdoor pools, playground, and the staff's family-friendly approach (e.g., providing toys) make it highly appealing.
Leisure travelers seeking oceanfront views and direct access: Those who prioritize scenic beauty, private beach access, and balconies overlooking the bay will find this hotel a perfect fit.
Guests exploring Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor: Its convenient location and free shuttle service make it an excellent base for local sightseeing.
Travelers seeking a peaceful retreat: Despite its size, the ample grounds and oceanfront setting contribute to a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for "getting away from the hustle and bustle."
Event planners: With its dedicated Event Center and diverse meeting facilities, it caters well to conferences, weddings, and group gatherings.
Travelers to/from Canada: Its proximity to the ferry terminal offers added convenience.

May 15, 2025 · Luis Lozanothen to a lot of hotels around from near New Hampshire to Kennebec up to the Waterville area and this is my first time at Bar Harbor and I can say it is a different hotel, but it’s a peaceful different. If you’re looking for a humble time to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is it very clean very respectable staff. Not one staff member has been rude or not on their job. very clean, very accommodating. Family friendly and a lot to do around. We came and happen to be a storm so we didn’t get to some of the things that ended up closing like flights and stuff, but we still found a lot of fun here which speaks volumes because the hotel is where you stay at, but it ended up being a place where we could spend a lot of time during the storm.
May 11, 2025 · CorneileousNO HOT WATER - BEWARE! No hot water available at The Willows building on the property. Apparently, it’s an older building with unreliable plumbing and there’s only cold water available. ***When we called the front desk to ask if they can send someone from maintenance… we were told that The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel does not have a maintenance person/crew let alone an emergency maintenance person on-site*** My husband and I planned our Bar Harbor trip two months ahead of time to celebrate our wedding anniversary; we researched plenty of Inns, cottages, hotels, and resorts in the area. We finally decided on this hotel solely because we wanted to book at The Willows building at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel. Needless to say, our Anniversary stay at The Willows didn’t happen because when we arrived, we came to find out that we had the choice of staying at The Willows building with no hot water… or we had the option to stay at their standard hotel room in the other building, across the property, which had hot water. Mind you, the standard hotel room looks like it wasn’t renovated since the late 70s. This was definitely a downgrade. I was ready to simply walk across the property to shower in the regular old hotel room and walk back to The Willows building, to sleep in the beautiful quaint and cozy room I originally booked and paid for! However, that was not a viable option. We had to repack everything and drive to the standard hotel building on the property, which is a basic older standard room. My husband and I don’t have too much time off work so we invested a lot of money into this trip to make it a memorable and special anniversary stay. However, I was so disappointed about having to move hotel rooms as well as move hotel buildings. I literally cried in the shower. We did not receive the room we originally booked and paid for. Please please please do not let this happen to you! Ensure that you PERSONALLY go into the bath and check for hot water before you even unpack anything. Honestly, I truly suggest that you simply book a room at any of the other beautiful hotels at Bar Harbor. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment… ensure that you will get to stay in the room you actually booked and paid for.
May 14, 2025 · Rosa TorrezMy wife and I had a wonderful stay at The Willows. This beautiful mansion, with its stunning ocean views, provided everything we needed for our visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. The cleanliness of the property was truly top-notch. We’ll definitely stay again the next time we venture up to Maine!
May 20, 2025 · David DerushaWe had a great experience staying here for a week. Very friendly staff and clean room. Had a great view from our room and made us feel special for our anniversary. Very close to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor downtown. My only complaint would be the pillows could be better, but other than that it was a great stay!
