The location of this place is nice for the national parks. The rooms are very small and our screen window for the bathroom fell often. The air conditioning was placed in a corner in the back of the room so it was hot. Parking situation was not good as well. Also breakfast options were not good and especially with someone with gluten allergy.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Bar Harbor, Maine, particularly for those who prioritize location and affordability over luxury, the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor presents a practical and accessible option. Situated at 120 Eden St, Bar Harbor, ME 04609, USA, this hotel serves as a convenient gateway to the natural wonders of Acadia National Park and the charming attractions of downtown Bar Harbor, making it an excellent choice for active travelers and those managing a budget.
The environment of the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor is primarily defined by its strategic location. It is positioned near Frenchman's Bay, providing some rooms with views of the water, a feature that can be particularly pleasant for catching the sunset, as noted by a guest. Critically, it is very conveniently located near the Hulls Cove Visitor Center for Acadia National Park, making it an ideal staging point for daily excursions into the park's extensive trail networks and scenic drives. While not directly in the bustling downtown, its location on Eden Street offers relatively easy access, often a short walk or a quick drive, and importantly, the Island Explorer bus (a free shuttle service during peak season) stops directly across the street. This accessibility to both the park and downtown without the immediate "hustle and bustle" makes it appealing. The overall atmosphere leans towards a more utilitarian and functional lodging, catering to guests who are primarily focused on exploring the region rather than spending extensive time within their hotel room.
The services at the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor are designed to provide essential comforts and conveniences. The hotel operates with a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that guests can check in or seek assistance at any time. Complimentary Wi-Fi is a standard offering, available in all rooms and public areas, and guests have generally reported good connectivity even "pretty far from the office." This allows travelers to easily plan their day, research local attractions, or stay in touch with loved ones. The hotel also provides daily housekeeping services to maintain cleanliness throughout the stay.
A key feature of the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor is its complimentary "on-the-go" breakfast. While some reviews indicate that the breakfast options might not be extensive or suitable for specific dietary needs (like gluten allergies), it does offer a basic and convenient start to the day. Options typically include items like oatmeal, bagels, and cereal, providing quick sustenance before heading out to explore. The value of an included breakfast, even if basic, is a significant draw for many guests, helping to save on daily meal expenses.
The rooms at the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor are described as clean and comfortable, catering to travelers looking for a place to rest and store their belongings. While some reviewers noted that rooms could be "very small" or "dated," and had issues with air conditioning placement or screen windows, other feedback highlighted comfortable beds, quiet environments, and the practicality of having a refrigerator in the room. Having a mini-fridge in the room is a considerable advantage for budget-conscious travelers, allowing them to store snacks and drinks and "save lots of money on daily meals." Each room typically includes basic amenities such as a flat-screen TV, a coffee/tea maker, an iron and ironing board, and an in-room safe. Private bathrooms with a shower and complimentary toiletries are also standard. Some rooms may feature a balcony, offering a nice spot to relax and enjoy the evening, especially those with scenic views of Frenchman Bay.
For guests traveling with pets, the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor is a pet-friendly establishment, though charges may apply, and policies might vary by room type. This is an important consideration for many visitors to Bar Harbor, a destination popular with pet owners. The hotel also offers free self-parking on-site, a valuable amenity in a town where parking can sometimes be challenging and expensive. There is also specific parking available for RVs, buses, and trucks, though fees may apply for larger vehicles.
Additional facilities at the hotel include a business center, catering to the needs of business travelers who might require access to computers or printing services. The hotel also features meeting facilities, which can be useful for small groups or corporate events. While it does not offer a pool or a full-service restaurant on-site beyond the breakfast, its proximity to various dining options, including Stewman's Lobster Pound and Jack Russell's Steak House & Brewery, ensures guests have choices for lunch and dinner.
From a promotional standpoint, the Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor strategically appeals to visitors seeking an "utilitarian place that is convenient and more affordable than most of Bar Harbor." Its key messages would emphasize its prime location for accessing Acadia National Park, particularly the Hulls Cove Visitor Center, and its proximity to the Island Explorer bus stop for easy transportation to downtown. The complimentary "on-the-go" breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and in-room refrigerators are significant value propositions that would be highlighted. The hotel's pet-friendly policy and free parking are also strong selling points. The phone numbers, (207) 288-3321 and +1 207-288-3321, are available for direct inquiries and reservations. The Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor positions itself as a practical, no-frills, and conveniently located option for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Bar Harbor, particularly suited for outdoor adventurers and budget-conscious travelers who prioritize a comfortable and accessible place to sleep and store food while exploring the stunning surroundings.

Oct 05, 2024 · Grant DisneyAfter reading the reviews I was kind of afraid, but I’m going to give this stay 5 stars not because it’s a 5 star hotel, but because it exceeded my expectations as a 2 star hotel. It’s conveniently located to hulls cove visitor center. I stayed pretty far from the office and my WiFi worked well the entire time. It was nice to see the sunset on the balcony on an evening I was tired. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and having a fridge in the room saved me lots of money on daily meals so I could eat out once a day at a nice place in bar harbor. This is perfect if you need a conveniently located place to sleep or store food while hiking etc. if you want luxury and to be in your room a lot, probably not for you. If you want a utilitarian place that is convenient and more affordable than most of bar harbor, this is it.
Sep 09, 2024 · laura holdenThe one thing a hotel should provide is a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, we did not get that when we stayed last week. The beds are absolutely terrible. They are hard, and ours had the springs poking out. I had to sleep on top of the covers for the little extra padding. I asked for two extra blankets and they were like sandpaper. The people are very nice, but we got zero sleep. I would have rather slept in my car.
Sep 27, 2024 · Lauren HewittRooms are older but comfortable and the double suit is spacious. Ours had two mini fridges, a microwave, and a k-cup maker. Everything was very clean, and the light breakfast had some protein options, which was great. The location was pretty convenient too, and you see the bay from the front and a forested area in the back. The people were also nice.
Jun 11, 2024 · April HenryRooms are cramped. The wifi was out when we got there and I was working remotely. We said we can't stay, but they refused to accommodate us. Said we would have to pay anyway. There were no open electrical outlets to plug in my computer or charge devices without unplugging something else. They did bring me a power strip eventually. Breakfast was decent and the lady who ran that friendly. The wifi came back on the second day we were there and it worked out. We asked for a late check out, and again were denied. The front desk is less than accommodating. We were there 3 nights and housekeeping never came. Overall, the room was fine and a decent price for the area. Don't expect anything extra though.
