Unfortunately this was not a pleasant stay for us. First impression- we walked into the lobby and it reeked of marijuana, (which also happened on a separate occasion leaving the hotel.) What was more upsetting is our room was not ready at 3 pm as stated for the check-in time. This is unacceptable. We arrived at 2:55pm after a very long day of traveling that started with a snowy/rainy early commute. We were told the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and the staff gave us no indication of how long it would be. She apologized but it did not feel sincere. It turned out to be 35 minutes. Very disappointing especially after I did early mobile check-in at 8am. We were on the 13th floor in a room with an a-joining door. You could hear the people talking in the next room while we were trying to watch a movie. Not shouting, just talking. I received a text message the next morning about room service asking if we needed anything. I asked for fresh towels and trash to be emptied. Neither was done when we came back to the hotel at 1 pm that day. Because we weren’t enjoying our stay, we decided to leave a day early even though we booked 2 nights. We left at 2 pm and were told we would be charged for the entire night because we didn’t leave by 11am. (They don’t honor their check-in time, but happy to charge you for an entire night when you’re late to check out.) Did I mention the parking garage is a 10 minute walk to the hotel? So plan on paying extra for valet if the weather is bad like it was this weekend. The one good thing I can say is the beds were comfortable, that is it. Other than that there was nothing positive about our stay. I called to speak to a manager and they don’t work on weekends. We will never go back.

Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown - Seaport Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Boston, the Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown - Seaport, situated at 6 W Broadway, Boston, MA 02127, offers a modern and stylish option. You can reach them by phone at (617) 463-9147 or mobile at +1 617-463-9147. This hotel aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers with its contemporary design and convenient location at the intersection of South Boston and the vibrant Seaport District.

Environment and Location: Urban Access in a Developing Area

The Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown - Seaport is strategically positioned in South Boston, a rapidly evolving neighborhood that blends residential charm with urban development. Its address on West Broadway places it in an area with a mix of local businesses, dining options, and residential buildings.

A significant advantage of this hotel's location is its direct proximity to public transportation. It is located directly across from the Broadway T station (Red Line), which offers very easy access to downtown Boston, Cambridge (including Harvard University and MIT), and other key areas of the city. This connectivity is a major plus for guests relying on public transit to explore Boston.

The hotel is also well-situated for those visiting the Seaport District. While not directly in the heart of the Seaport, it's a short distance away, approximately 1 mile (1.13 km) from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). This makes it a practical choice for convention attendees. Other notable nearby attractions include the Lawn on D (approximately 0.97 km), the Boston Children's Museum (approximately 1.45 km), and various dining establishments along West Broadway and in the Seaport. For convenience, a Circle-K convenience store is located next door, providing easy access to reasonably priced snacks and drinks.

It's important to note that due to its urban setting and proximity to major roads, some guests have reported issues with street noise. The hotel provides white noise machines and earplugs in rooms to help mitigate this, acknowledging the challenge of a busy city environment. Furthermore, some reviews have noted a persistent smell of marijuana in the lobby, which might be a concern for some guests.

Services and Amenities: Modern Comforts with Room for Improvement

The Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown - Seaport offers a range of modern amenities designed for a comfortable stay. Guests can expect complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property.

The hotel features a 24-hour fitness center, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines while traveling. This amenity is often praised for being well-equipped. Dining options include an on-site restaurant and a rooftop bar. The hotel's on-site restaurant offers a daily cooked-to-order breakfast, available for a fee (approximately USD 15 to 40 for adults and USD 15 to 30 for children) from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. There are also vending machines for quick snacks and drinks.

Other services include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a business center with meeting and event spaces totaling 1,560 square feet. The hotel states it offers cleaning and laundry services, though one customer review indicated issues with daily room service not being performed as requested. The hotel offers a "text message" service for guest requests, which can be convenient for communicating needs.

For parking, valet parking is available for a fee of USD 59 per day, which includes in/out privileges. This is a considerable cost, and some guests have noted that the self-parking garage is a 10-minute walk away, which can be inconvenient, especially in bad weather. The hotel has a strict "no pets allowed" policy, with only service animals permitted free of charge.

Check-in time is typically 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Some guests have reported issues with room readiness upon arrival, even with prior mobile check-in, leading to delays of up to 35 minutes. Similarly, strict adherence to check-out times for late departures has been a point of concern for some visitors, with guests being charged for an entire night if not checked out by 11 AM. The hotel has a refundable damage deposit of USD 300, collected by credit card upon arrival. The minimum age for check-in is 21. It's also worth noting that managers are not available on weekends, which some guests found problematic when trying to resolve issues.

Features: Contemporary Design with Functional Spaces

The Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown - Seaport boasts a modern, Art Deco-inspired design, with rooms described as "nice but very small" by some, while others found them "clean and cozy" and "modern." The hotel strives for a contemporary aesthetic, often incorporating local influences in its design, drawing inspiration from the Fort Point area with materials like concrete, brick, and wood textures, balanced by natural elements. Inspirational quotes from local poets and authors are used to connect to history.

Guest rooms are typically equipped with air conditioning, private bathrooms, 43-inch flat-screen TVs with premium channels, refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers, including Keurig machines. Comfortable beds are a consistent positive mentioned in reviews, with one guest specifically highlighting "the beds were comfortable." Many rooms feature premium bedding, pillow-top beds, and in-room safes. Some rooms offer "beautiful view of city from room facing city," with extra-large windows for ample natural light. Soundproofing is mentioned as a feature in some room descriptions, which is relevant given the urban location, though some guests on the 13th floor with adjoining doors noted being able to hear conversations from the next room.

The bathrooms are typically well-designed, although one review noted that the hot water took a long time to heat up—close to 10 minutes. Different room types are available, including King Rooms (around 270-300 sq ft), King Suites (larger, around 650 sq ft), and rooms with two Queen beds (around 300-400 sq ft), as well as accessible options with features like wider doors, communication kits, lowered shelves, and hearing technologies. Hypo-allergenic bedding, work desks, blackout curtains, and iPod docking stations are also available in rooms.

Promotional Information: Value Considerations and Program Benefits

As part of the Choice Hotels' Cambria brand, guests can take advantage of the Choice Privileges loyalty program for earning and redeeming points. While the hotel offers a modern experience and a convenient location, several guests have commented that the "cost of my room did not align with the experience," suggesting that everything is "overpriced at hotel." This perception of value is subjective and often tied to the prevailing rates in a high-demand city like Boston.

Key promotional aspects include the prime location directly across from the Broadway T station and its proximity to the BCEC, which offers significant convenience for many travelers. The proximity to various food options, including a nearby Whole Foods and numerous restaurants like Worden Hall, Moonshine 152, Teriyaki House, and Shy Bird, allows guests to control their dining expenses. The presence of a 24-hour fitness center, a rooftop terrace, and potential city views from rooms are also attractive features.

However, potential guests should be aware of the high valet parking fee and the potential for street noise. While the hotel provides white noise machines and earplugs, some visitors might find these necessary accommodations for sleep less than ideal for the price point. Despite some negative experiences regarding service consistency (e.g., room readiness, housekeeping), noise, and the lobby smell, other reviews commend the staff's friendliness and the cleanliness of the hotel, suggesting a mixed but generally positive overall impression for many guests. The hotel's emphasis on modern, updated facilities and its strategic location remain strong selling points for those seeking a contemporary stay in South Boston.

Absolutely beautiful view of city from room facing city. Room is nice but very small. But was clean every evening I returned. Didn't spend much time in room but dreaded going back to such a small room. Everything is overpriced at hotel but pretty much everything is in Boston. Thankfully Circle-K next door to get reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

Checked in on Monday afternoon, first room had a missing shower door that got water everywhere and created a slipping hazard. Got moved the next morning to a room with no temperature control, had to sleep with the window open it was so hot. No free breakfast either. The little restaurant was nice and had ok food but 17 bucks for a burrito was a bit much. Not the worst but definitely not the best.

We spent 3 days in Spring 2025. Location is amazing there a T right in front of the hotel, as well as a Starbucks, Circle K, and few others restaurants. Janilce and Gui at the front desk were amazing. Super professional and kind. 5 start The hotel is very modern and clean. I’ll definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed staying here. Location is great, close to the airport. Customer service was great. The gentleman at front desk who checked me in was very polite and great customer service w/c set the tone for my stay. Room was good, small but very clean. I was on 9th floor, so my phone network connection was not good (Verizon). widi worked fine on my laptop. breakfast was good and decent, beautiful view from the lobby. Also, depending on which direction of the building your room is, you would get a great view.
