I already had a bad feeling about this place when we were greeted with a sign stating that we cannot take breakfast upstairs. Okay. Get up to the room, it's cute. Foot odor was the first thing that hit me. Noticed that I could see the hallway through my closed door. Not thrilled about that. Then the next morning go to heat up my water for coffee, the microwave just spins but doesn't heat anything. We didn't bother with breakfast. Mostly non heated items, bread cereal and the like. We won't be coming back. Oh and the construction crews get drunk in their trucks in the parking lot, so beware if your a solo female traveler.
The Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest is located at 184 Northpoint Way, Acworth, GA 30102, USA. As a property operating under the Choice Hotels brand, it positions itself within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category as an option for travelers seeking accommodation in the Acworth and Kennesaw area. For direct inquiries or reservations, the hotel can be reached at (770) 975-9920 or via mobile at +1 770-975-9920. This introduction offers an objective perspective on the hotel's environment, services, features, and promotional aspects, drawing from publicly available information and recent customer feedback.
The Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest is situated with relatively good access to Interstate 75, facilitating travel to and from the area. Its location places it within a short driving distance of several key points of interest. Guests can access attractions such as Lake Acworth and Allatoona Lake, offering opportunities for outdoor activities. Kennesaw State University is also within reasonable proximity, making the hotel a consideration for those visiting the campus. Additionally, the hotel is near the Lakepoint Sports Community, which is a major draw for sports events. The surrounding area offers various dining establishments and retail options, including restaurants and shopping centers, providing convenience for guests' daily needs. The property was built in 1995 and last renovated in 2000 (though some sources indicate 2017 or 2019 for renovation), featuring approximately 44-58 rooms (information varies) spread across two or three floors. The hotel features interior corridors.
The Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest typically provides a range of standard amenities common to the Comfort Inn brand. Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast. However, recent guest feedback suggests that the breakfast offerings can be "almost nonexistent" or "mostly non heated items, bread cereal and the like," with specific complaints about a lack of meat, brown sugar for oatmeal, or yogurt, and empty waffle batter machines. A sign stating that guests "cannot take breakfast upstairs" has also been noted, which might limit convenience for some.
The hotel includes a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, generally open from May to September, for relaxation during warmer months. There is also a 24-hour fitness center, a business center, and free high-speed wired and wireless internet access available in all rooms and public areas. Guests can expect rooms to feature a 32-inch flat-screen TV with premium channels, air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Select rooms may also include a wet bar or in-bath whirlpool. Other in-room conveniences often include a coffee/tea maker, iron/ironing board, and hairdryer. Daily housekeeping service is provided.
Additional services include a 24-hour front desk (though some sources indicate limited hours from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM and no after-hours check-in, which is a significant discrepancy and should be verified), free self-parking (including wheelchair-accessible and van parking), and a water dispenser. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing one pet per room (specific rooms only, restrictions apply; pets cannot be left unattended), with service animals being exempt from fees. The property is smoke-free. While some official sources mention an elevator, recent guest reviews explicitly state that "elevators did not work" or that there is "no elevator to the second floor," which is a crucial detail for guests with mobility challenges or heavy luggage.
Customer reviews for the Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest present a highly concerning and largely negative picture of the guest experience. While some individual staff members, such as the "night attendant," have been described as "especially nice," the overall feedback points to significant issues with the property's condition, cleanliness, and certain aspects of management.
A primary and pervasive concern is cleanliness and maintenance. Guests have reported pervasive "foot odor" in rooms upon entry. Detailed accounts include "TV had fingerprints all over," "Phone is filthy," "Microwave dirty on outside," "Paint peeling hanging from ceiling," "Urine on toilet seat," "Something splattered on walls in bathroom," and "Purple stuff and dirt on light switch in bathroom." Issues with bathroom fixtures are also frequently cited, such as a toilet that "didn't flush," excessive leaking from the sink faucet, a non-functional tub stopper, and "barely enough water pressure to turn shower on." The lack of towel bars and a non-functional bathroom fan further detract from the comfort.
Disruptions from other guests and alleged construction crews are also a concern, with reports of "construction crews get drunk in their trucks in the parking lot," posing a safety concern, especially for solo female travelers. The thin doors that allow guests to "see the hallway through my closed door" raise privacy and security concerns. The non-functional microwave is another amenity failure that has impacted guest convenience.
The lack of consistent staff presence at the front desk, even during morning hours, has also been a point of frustration for guests attempting to report maintenance problems. The accumulation of these issues has led to strong sentiments of "not coming back" and a "bad feeling about this place."
As a Comfort Inn property, this hotel participates in the Choice Privileges loyalty program, allowing guests to earn and redeem points. While specific promotional offers were not detailed beyond the complimentary breakfast, Comfort Inn hotels typically aim to offer a budget-friendly price point.
However, given the consistent and severe negative feedback regarding the hotel's condition, cleanliness, and service, the value proposition is highly questionable. Guests are advised to exercise extreme caution and consider these detailed reviews before booking. The hotel's listed price points, starting from approximately $70-$80 per night, must be weighed against the reported quality of the experience. Check-in time is generally 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. The minimum check-in age is 21 years old. A damage deposit of $150 (or $100 depending on the source) is required upon arrival.
In conclusion, the Comfort Inn Acworth - Kennesaw Northwest is a property that, despite its brand affiliation and stated amenities, appears to suffer from significant issues in its physical condition, cleanliness, and operational consistency, as extensively detailed in recent guest reviews. While its location may be convenient for some travelers, the widespread concerns expressed by past guests suggest that the experience may fall short of expectations, even for a budget-category hotel. Prospective guests should thoroughly consider these factors when evaluating this option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.

May 16, 2025 · JJ GodbyFirst room the toilet didn't flush, so the front desk gave us a different room. The night attendant was especially nice. Second room: TV was on in room when we walked in. And TV had fingerprints all over. Phone is filthy. Microwave dirty on outside. Paint peeling hanging from ceiling. Pillows are tiny. There was Urine on toilet seat. Bathroom sink faucet handle leaked excessively when turned on. Tub stopper didn't work right. Barely enough water pressure to turn shower on. No towel bars. Bathroom fan did not turn on. Something splattered on walls in bathroom. Purple stuff and dirt on light switch in bathroom. No meat for breakfast No brown sugar for oatmeal No yogurt Both hand sanitizer dispensers in public places were empty. I wanted to let the staff know about the maintenance problems, but there was no body at the desk when we left at 8:39 am.
Apr 30, 2025 · Stefanie BettsWe have been here for two nights and the guy at the front desk has been so sweet and good to us. He has great customer service and has worked with us on a few situations already. The rooms are great for the price. There are two other hotels next door with both high deposit and comfort inn has a WAY cheaper deposit. House keeping was rude to us this morning but maybe they were just having a bad day. Coming from someone who stays in hotels frequently, I definitely recommend this hotel. Update: we have still been using this hotel when traveling. The guy that works at the front desk during the day is so great. I don’t run into the guy that owns the place often but I did the other day while my kid was RUNNING down the hall, I was embarrassed and trying to get to him to make him stop. The guy was so nice about it and told me not to worry about it because I kept apologizing. I’ve stayed at every hotel off the exit and after staying here for weeks I can confirm, this is the best hotel around. & yes they have real breakfast not just cereal and fruit like the other ones on this exit.
Mar 16, 2025 · Ashley PayneMy family and I came down to ATL to visit family and I must say this hotel was very comfortable hands down. Guest service was very friendly and kind . The room was very clean and comfortable. I’m very big on a clean bathroom it met all of my expectations. We will definitely stay here agin when we visit. 🤗
Apr 13, 2025 · Latisha TaylorThis was the worst hotel experiences we have encountered. Breakfast was poor quality, and there is a sign stating you cannot eat in your hotel room, followed by breakfast security making sure you do not break that rule, making breakfast extremely uncomfortable. Upon entering the room, a dirty napkin was shoved in the peep hole, and a dirty band aid was in the sheets of our bed. After it rained our second night, the hallways were flooded and sopping wet as we walked through them, only to come downstairs and find right above the breakfast area, several ceiling tiles were missing or hanging down, with buckets collecting water underneath. There is a vending machine set up in the corner with no prices on anything only to find out I paid 5.00 for a bite size bag of Doritos. There was also a half an inch gap in the bottom of the door to our room. I would not recommend this hotel, and I will not be using choice hotels again for any hotel.
