This hotel is terrible. I had a week long reservation (5 nights). I was here for a training at the college near by. I went to my training on Wednesday (after only three nights) and when I returned at 4:30pm I walked into my room (yes the card still worked) the room was completely turned over. All of my belongings were removed. I went to the front desk and the attendant said he had no idea where my belongings were. He called the General Manager, and he asked me to wait for the General Manager to come. The attendant then gave me my belongings that had been all bagged up. The attendant told me that someone checked out of my room that morning and they were fully booked. I told him it was not me and I was the only person staying in my room and the only person the room was assigned to. I asked if I would have a room for that night as I live 4 hours away and he stated “no, we are fully booked.” The general manager arrived after approx. 15 minutes. She never said sorry. She told me someone checked out of my room that morning. She gave me a name of a man I did not know. I asked her how someone who the room is not registered to can check out and she didn’t respond. I never received a call from the hotel asking why my stuff was still in the room. I asked the general manager the protocol when removing customers belongings from a room. (I asked how many people were touching my belongings, if they took an inventory) the general manager related usually they just put the belongings in her office and they do not keep an inventory. I was then told I could return to “my room”. I had to ask if there were any other keys that would work in my door, as I was checked out of my room that morning but my key still worked. She related no. That was all. No sorry, she just kept saying someone checked my room out. Someone handled my belongings including my toothbrush with out my permission or approval. This should have been handled better.
For individuals and families seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Middletown, Pennsylvania area, particularly those requiring proximity to Harrisburg Airport or the Hershey attractions, the Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South might appear as an option. Located at 1589 W Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA 17057, USA, this hotel aims to cater to diverse travel needs. You can contact them directly for reservations or inquiries at (223) 225-7749 or via mobile at +1 223-225-7749. An objective introduction to this hotel requires a balanced look at both its highly praised aspects and significant concerns raised by recent guests.
The Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South's location on W Harrisburg Pike positions it conveniently for travelers needing access to the Harrisburg Airport. Its proximity to both the airport and the Hershey area places it squarely within the search parameters for "Hotels Near Of Me" for a wide range of visitors. This strategic placement is a key drawing point for many. However, potential guests should be aware that experiences at this hotel appear to be highly variable, as indicated by the contrasting reviews provided.
Let's delve into the environment of the Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South. One guest lauded the room as "spacious, spotless," with "everything I could possibly need for a comfortable stay." This suggests that, at its best, the hotel provides a highly clean and well-equipped environment. The same guest also enjoyed "stunning views from my room, which were just breathtaking," indicating that some rooms offer a pleasant aesthetic experience. The overall ambiance was positively set by a "warm and friendly demeanor" from the front desk staff. Conversely, the negative review, while not directly commenting on the general aesthetic, implies a problematic operational environment. The fact that a room was "completely turned over" with all belongings removed due to an erroneous checkout suggests a severe flaw in the hotel's operational and inventory management systems, which directly impacts the guest's personal environment and sense of security within the hotel. This highlights a significant inconsistency in the hotel's environmental control and guest safety protocols. The presence of an on-site restaurant also contributes to the overall guest environment, offering convenient dining options.
In terms of services, there is a stark contrast in guest experiences. One review highlights "Jada at the front desk" as "absolutely amazing," praising her for making the "check-in process seamless," ensuring all needs were met, and offering "great recommendations for local attractions." This demonstrates a high level of attentive, friendly, and proactive customer service that significantly enhances the guest experience. The service at the on-site "restaurant, where the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable," further reinforces the presence of exceptional service staff. However, a deeply concerning and severe service failure is detailed in the other review. A guest's belongings were inexplicably removed from their room mid-stay due to an erroneous "check-out" by an unknown person. The hotel staff, including the General Manager, initially showed a lack of immediate problem-solving, failed to apologize, and provided unsatisfactory explanations and protocols regarding the handling of personal belongings. The General Manager's admission that they "do not keep an inventory" when removing guest belongings and that "usually they just put the belongings in her office" reveals a critically flawed and unprofessional service protocol. The refusal to offer another room despite the guest living far away and having a week-long reservation further exacerbates the service failure. This type of service issue represents a fundamental breach of trust and guest security, which is paramount for any hotel.
Regarding the features of the Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South, the positive review highlights several commendable aspects. Rooms are described as "spacious" and equipped with "everything I could possibly need for a comfortable stay," including an "incredibly cozy bed" that led to "feeling refreshed each morning." The "stunning views" from certain rooms are also a desirable feature. The hotel's amenities are considered "top-notch," with a specific mention of the "delicious food" and "impeccable service" at the on-site "restaurant." While not explicitly detailed, Comfort Inn & Suites properties typically offer complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and often a fitness center and indoor pool, which contribute to a comprehensive feature set for guests. However, the most critical "feature" revealed by the negative review is the operational flaw in the hotel's check-in/check-out system that allowed an unauthorized individual to check out a reserved room and led to the premature removal of guest belongings. The lack of proper inventory protocol for removed items is a significant security and accountability feature deficit. The ability of an old room key to still work after an erroneous checkout also points to a security vulnerability. These operational "features" significantly undermine the overall guest experience, regardless of other positive amenities.
From a promotional perspective, the Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South faces a challenging dichotomy. The highly positive review, emphasizing seamless check-in, spacious and spotless rooms, comfortable beds, stunning views, top-notch amenities including a delicious restaurant, and exceptional staff like Jada, offers compelling promotional material. This narrative aligns with the brand's goal of providing a comfortable and satisfying stay. However, the severe negative review, detailing a critical operational failure involving guest belongings, lack of apology, and unprofessional handling by management, creates a significant counter-narrative. For local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me," the presence of such a high-stakes operational flaw could be a major deterrent, regardless of other positive aspects. While the hotel's proximity to the airport and Hershey is a strong promotional asset, the trust and security issues raised would need to be addressed transparently. Hotels within the Choice Hotels brand, including Comfort Inn & Suites, typically participate in the Choice Privileges loyalty program, offering benefits to frequent guests, which can be a promotional draw. However, the very public failure in guest property management and security reported by one guest poses a significant risk to the hotel's reputation. Potential guests are strongly advised to contact the hotel directly at (223) 225-7749 to inquire about their security protocols and procedures for managing guest belongings before making a reservation, especially for longer stays, and to cross-reference multiple recent reviews for a balanced perspective.
In conclusion, the Comfort Inn & Suites - Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South, located at 1589 W Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, PA, and reachable at (223) 225-7749, presents a complex and contrasting picture for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me." On one hand, it offers potentially "spacious, spotless" rooms with "stunning views," "incredibly cozy" beds, "top-notch amenities," and highly praised staff like Jada, who exemplify excellent customer service and provide "impeccable" restaurant service. On the other hand, a severe operational failure involving the unauthorized "check-out" of a guest's room and the subsequent removal of their belongings without proper protocol, apology, or resolution from management, represents a critical and alarming deficiency in security and guest relations. This major flaw overshadows many of the positive aspects and creates a significant trust issue. While its location near the airport and Hershey is advantageous, potential guests must carefully weigh the risk of such a critical service failure against the potential for a very pleasant stay. For a comprehensive and objective assessment, it is crucial to consider both the exemplary service experiences and the profound operational and security concerns reported by guests.
