Update: Obviously the GM of the hotel answers these reviews..and as you can see in his response, he is disgustingly ignorant and as I read the other reviews where they claim he is racist, I am now thinking that is the reason we are being targeted. The room was thrashed when we walked in,I had to pick up candy and cake and pop caps all over the floor as well as throw out the garbage and pop all the balloons left behind, and then he claims I can't get my refund because the floor was a mess lol what a joke...it was a 5 year olds bday party,it you want the floor to be perfect afterewards then 1.clean up from the previous party because how do you differentiate between the cake crumbs that were left and the ones my toddlers left behind ( did you taste them to know which cake was ours?) 2. Provide a vacuum and I would have been more than happy to vacuum but you don't. I honestly probably make double his income,so for him to try to act as if we're lower class is hilarious. I definitely think it's because my child was of mixed culture smh. I honestly can not wait to go to court,I hope he brings all the videos so I can laugh hysterically at him when he is getting charged with my counter claim. Terrible service! I rented the pool for my daughter's 5th birthday and they turned it into a nightmare! Room was empty and dirty when arrived..charged me 75 dollars for 3 12 cut pizzas! Chef was very rude Everytime I spoke with him in regards to the party...THEN they accused a child at my party of breaking a light that they did not break! Attempted to charge me $200 dollars for it! I actually thought I was being punked, because it was one terrible thing after another. They tarnished my daughter's memories of her birthday party smh The General Manager was also terrible..very rude and said very insulting things to me when I told him the damage was not done by anyone in my party,as my older daughter witnessed who did it.

Comfort Inn & Suites Introduce

The Comfort Inn & Suites, located at 180 Gamma Dr Building A, Pittsburgh, PA 15238, USA, serves as an accommodation option for local users searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Situated conveniently in the RIDC Park in O'Hara Township, this hotel offers accessibility to major highways and a relatively short drive to downtown Pittsburgh, making it a viable choice for both business and leisure travelers. For inquiries and reservations, the hotel can be reached at (412) 963-0600 or +1 412-963-0600.

The hotel, last renovated in 2022, features 215 rooms spread across two floors, including 32 suites. Guests can expect a variety of room types, such as King Bed, Queen Bed, and Double Bed options, with some suites offering executive spa features. Standard room amenities typically include air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, free wired and wireless internet access, a coffee maker, hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. Some rooms may also offer a microwave and refrigerator, or even a balcony. Daily housekeeping services are generally provided.

The environment and common facilities at Comfort Inn & Suites aim to provide a comfortable stay. A key feature is the complimentary hot breakfast, which typically includes items like eggs, meat, and two waffle flavors, often receiving positive remarks from guests regarding its quality and the friendliness of the breakfast staff. The hotel also boasts a large indoor heated pool, a popular amenity for both adults and children, though recent reviews have noted some issues with its maintenance. Additionally, there is a 24-hour fitness center, a convenient amenity for guests looking to maintain their exercise routines while traveling.

For dining beyond breakfast, the hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar, "Route 28 Bar & Grill," which serves American cuisine and is open in the evenings. A grocery/convenience store is also available on-site, offering snacks and other necessities. Free daily newspapers are provided in the lobby, and 24-hour coffee service is available. The hotel also has a 24-hour front desk, a business center, and dry cleaning/laundry services.

The Comfort Inn & Suites is well-equipped for events and meetings, offering 13,500 square feet of conference space across nine meeting rooms. This includes a Grand Ballroom that can hold up to 710 people, catering to various corporate or social gatherings. The availability of such extensive meeting facilities makes it a potential venue for local businesses or organizations seeking event space.

The hotel's location is beneficial for exploring Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. It is situated in the RIDC Industrial Park, offering proximity to businesses within the park. For leisure, it provides easy access to attractions such as the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium (approximately 4 miles away), UPMC St. Margaret (5-minute drive), and Water Works Shopping. Downtown Pittsburgh, with its array of sports stadiums (Heinz Field, PNC Park), museums, and cultural sites, is about a 10-15 minute drive, making it accessible without being in the midst of city traffic. The hotel also offers a free area shuttle service that operates within a 5-mile radius, which can be useful for reaching local points of interest.

However, it is crucial to address the specific customer reviews provided, as they offer significant insights into recent guest experiences. While some positive aspects, such as the quality of breakfast and friendly staff, are noted, there are considerable concerns raised regarding cleanliness, room condition, and staff interactions, particularly with the General Manager. Multiple reviews describe rooms as dirty upon arrival, with issues such as candy, cake, and pop caps on the floor, uncleaned garbage, hair in tubs, unidentifiable growth in showers, and even reports of blood stains and pills. There are also mentions of missing shampoo and other basic amenities, suggesting inconsistency in room servicing. Security concerns were also raised, with reports of broken security locks and removed fire alarms/detectors, exposing wires. While the hotel states that the hotel was last renovated in 2022, and some sources note that the property has recently completed a renovation, these issues indicate a potential gap in ongoing maintenance and cleanliness standards that guests should be aware of.

Furthermore, several reviews highlight severe issues with customer service, especially concerning the management of events and disputes over damages. Accusations include rude staff, particularly the chef, and a "terrible" and "insulting" General Manager. Guests reported being charged for damages they did not cause, with allegations of false accusations and an unwillingness to resolve issues amicably. There are also mentions of racist behavior by the GM in their responses to reviews, which is a serious accusation that prospective guests should consider. Noise levels due to thin walls and inconsiderate guests were also a recurring complaint, affecting sleep quality.

In summary, while the Comfort Inn & Suites at 180 Gamma Dr in Pittsburgh offers a good location, a free hot breakfast, an indoor pool, and ample meeting space, potential guests must be fully aware of the significant and consistent negative feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and particularly, customer service and management. It is highly recommended that anyone considering a stay here, especially for events, contacts the hotel directly to confirm the current status of all facilities and to discuss any concerns they may have based on these public reviews.

Stayed at this hotel as a means to save some money on a weekend trip. Overall, the place wasn't the worst. Pro's: 1 - The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. 2 - A short 10 minute drive outside of the city. Made it easier for us leaving the city - not having to deal with traffic and inner-city highways. Cons: 1 - Our room was clean but didn't have shampoo in the shower. I only needed to use the shower one time while there, so it wasn't the biggest deal, but I'm sure it would be for someone staying a while. Makes me think the shower wasn't touched when the room was serviced before we arrived. 2 - The biggest issue for me was how thin the walls were. This is definitely a hotel issue, but at the same time, other customers weren't considerate. When we arrived, we could hear people having sex on the other side of our wall. We went out into the city and came back later at night to hear more people having sex across the hall. Then in the middle of the night, about 3 or 4 in the morning, people woke us up from yelling. It seemed like the staff put everyone in the same hallway/section of the hotel to make it easier for them with servicing and cleanup, which makes sense in some regard, but it also means there are a lot of people being disturbed by other inconsiderate customers.

This is one of my favorite value hotels. The breakfast is great and does rotate (had sausage and eggs one day, biscuits n gravy the next, then grits n bacon another). Beds are very comfy, the rooms are spacious, and the pool was warm. The staff was all super friendly from the manager that checked me in to Nita and Kiki at breakfast and Aunt Peachy cleaning up around the building. I won't lie and say it's perfect - could use some remodeling and touch ups - but overall it's one of the best places I've stayed.

It wasn’t brought to my attention that there was an extra $250 if you use a cashapp card the manager was extremely rude to me and my boyfriend his name was will. He was bad at explaining things and basically told us we were screwed. The man at the counter was very polite, Inaam, he helped us get our money back and helped us fund a new location, very well mannered and extremely respectful, all and explained everything perfectly, without him I would be having the worst birthday ever.

There’s not much positive to say about the room. The hardwood floor was sticky, the bathroom smelled like cigarettes, there was an empty wrapper on our nightstand, the lamp stand was dusty, etc. the WIFI was basically unusable, it would work ok for about 20 seconds at a time then just completely stop. The microwave in the breakfast area was nasty and the “hot” water for the oatmeal was cold. The one positive was that the staff we talked to were nice. Thankfully only a one-night stay on our way to the next destination, but I would not recommend this hotel. I don’t have pictures of much - just wanted to leave - but I do have one of the dust.
