UPDATE-- I spoke with Jill, and she was wonderful. She listened and ensured action will be taken to correct what had gone wrong during our stay. I really appreciate it. Thank you, Jill! We stayed here for one night. The young woman at the front desk had a flat personality, barely smiled. Didn't seem to enjoy her job in the least. Room was decent, but the bathroom had visible mold growth in a few areas of the shower stall and lots of dust around the baseboards. Beds were comfortable. The pool was nice and warm, which the kids loved. The lobby is nice, aesthetically (fireplace was a nice touch). Michael who worked at the bar was very sweet and helpful. The waitress we had as our server at breakfast the next morning was in a very bad mood. My husband and kids arrived at 9:20am (no one else was in the restaurant) and she told him that he needs to "hurry up and put his order in" because she is the only one working and they close at 10am (40 mins later). He explained that I was coming down within 5 minutes, but she said again that he needs to order *now* so he called me to get my order. Food came out- barely edible. For $70 for 2 adult egg meals, 1 french toast and 1 bowl of cereal, I'd expect it to be tasty (or at least edible). They only offered bottled orange juice (from concentrate) which was bitter and tangy. As we were leaving I said 'thank you!' and she refused to look at us or respond. Very odd. Overall, the place was generally clean, except for the moldy, dirty bathroom. The pool was nice and warm. The staff , aside from Michael, had lackluster, borderline rude, personalities. We won't be staying here again if we come back to the area, and that saddens me because Marriott properties are usually our go-to.
For local users exploring options under "Hotels Near Of Me," the Courtyard Kingston, situated at 500 Frank Sottile Blvd, Kingston, NY 12401, USA, presents itself as a notable choice within the vibrant Hudson Valley region. As a Marriott property, it generally aims to uphold a standard of quality and service that travelers have come to expect from the brand. This introduction will provide an objective overview of the hotel, incorporating information about its environment, services, features, and relevant promotional aspects, based on publicly available data and customer reviews.
The Courtyard Kingston's location is strategically advantageous for both leisure and business travelers. It's nestled in a convenient spot that offers easy access to major roadways, facilitating commutes to various points of interest in Kingston and the surrounding Ulster County. Within a short drive, guests can reach historical sites such as the Senate House State Historic Site and the Old Dutch Church. The artistic and cultural hub of Kingston, including the vibrant Rondout Waterfront with its array of shops, restaurants, and maritime attractions, is also readily accessible. For those interested in outdoor pursuits, the area boasts opportunities for hiking, biking, and exploring the natural beauty of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River. The hotel's proximity to local businesses and corporate offices also makes it a practical choice for those traveling on business.
The environment of Courtyard Kingston typically embodies the modern aesthetic synonymous with the Courtyard by Marriott brand. The lobby, as noted in some reviews, is generally described as "nice, aesthetically," with a "fireplace a nice touch," creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The design usually incorporates contemporary furnishings and a layout conducive to both relaxation and productivity. Common areas are designed to be bright and inviting, providing spaces for guests to work, socialize, or simply unwind. The overall ambiance aims for a blend of professionalism and comfort, catering to a diverse clientele. While some feedback mentions specific areas needing attention, the general impression of the hotel's cleanliness and upkeep in public spaces tends to be positive.
When it comes to services, Courtyard Kingston offers a range of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. The hotel typically provides a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that assistance is available around the clock. However, the quality of interaction with front desk staff can vary, as indicated by some customer feedback. While one review praises "Jill" for being "wonderful" and ensuring "action will be taken to correct what had gone wrong," another mentions a "young woman at the front desk had a flat personality, barely smiled. Didn't seem to enjoy her job in the least." This suggests inconsistency in front-line service.
The hotel also features an on-site restaurant, The Bistro, which serves breakfast, dinner, and Starbucks coffee. The convenience of having dining options within the hotel is a definite plus for many travelers. However, some reviews indicate challenges with the dining experience, particularly regarding breakfast service and food quality. One detailed review highlights a server who "was in a very bad mood" and hurried the order, leading to "barely edible" food that was perceived as overpriced for the quality. It's important for potential guests to consider this feedback when planning their dining choices. Additionally, room service is often available for added convenience.
Courtyard by Marriott properties are known for their flexible workspaces in the lobby, allowing guests to work informally or hold small meetings. High-speed internet access, both wired and wireless, is typically available throughout the property, including in guest rooms, catering to the needs of business travelers and those who need to stay connected.
Key features of Courtyard Kingston include its indoor pool, which is a significant draw for families and leisure guests. Customer feedback specifically highlights that "The pool was nice and warm, which the kids loved," indicating it's a well-appreciated amenity. A fitness center is also usually available, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines while traveling. These recreational facilities contribute to a more well-rounded stay.
The guest rooms at Courtyard Kingston are designed for comfort and functionality. While specific room details can vary, they generally feature comfortable beds, as attested by a review stating "Beds were comfortable." Standard amenities often include a flat-screen TV, a mini-refrigerator, a coffee maker, and a work desk. However, some customer reviews point out issues with room maintenance, such as "visible mold growth in a few areas of the shower stall and lots of dust around the baseboards." Another critical review mentions a "feather pillow" in a room requested to be "feather free" due to allergies, highlighting a potential oversight in room preparation. These specific instances suggest that while the general standard of rooms is decent, attention to detail in cleanliness and specific guest requests can sometimes be inconsistent.
Promotional information often centers around the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, which offers perks to frequent guests, such as points accrual for stays and potential elite member benefits. However, some negative experiences shared by "Ambassador members" indicate significant dissatisfaction, including issues with incidental holds on credit cards and lack of recognition or compensation for errors. One review details a situation where an "incidental hold" was "way over charged" and caused "anxiety and chest pains," and a subsequent stay where "no sparkle," "no gift bags to water bottles," and "no thanking me for being an ambassador member" were noted, despite a specific request for a feather-free room being unfulfilled. These instances suggest that while the Marriott Bonvoy program offers advantages, the execution of its benefits and the handling of guest issues at this specific property can be problematic, leading to significant disappointment for loyal customers.
In summary, for those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Kingston, NY area, Courtyard Kingston offers a Marriott-branded experience with a generally modern environment, convenient location, and amenities like an indoor pool and on-site dining. While some services and features, such as the comfortable beds and warm pool, are consistently praised, it is important for potential guests to be aware of the varied experiences with front desk and dining staff, as well as the reported inconsistencies in room maintenance and the handling of loyalty program benefits and incidental charges. Direct communication with the hotel regarding specific needs or concerns, especially for those with allergies or specific expectations regarding incidental holds, would be advisable before booking.

Apr 16, 2025 · Stephanie M.Hey all. So at this hotel my husband and I has because frequent flyers. However after this weekend we will not be back. To which this is the second time they've upset an ambassador member meaning me to stays in a row. Within a month of each other not good for business. On February 28th I checked in on a redemption stay. But before I checked in I called to ask what the Incidental hold would be. I was told 20 dollars. I explained that I was pretty strapped for cash. So i just need to know what to expect. When I checked inn I thought seemed odd that I had to swipe my card. I was way over charged. By an extra 50 dollar hold. To which the hotel tried to say this was Marriott thing not their hotel. The hotel left me with not even a way to get breakfast or even drinks. Also when a bonvoy rep called they were told it was cc error. So which is it either way had it not been for my banker releasing the hotels mistake. I would have had no money till I made more that saturday. Staff on the night I couldn't have cared less that they made mistake. Nor did apologize. Or try to compensate for the error on there part. NOT GOOD! Requested the hotel Manger call me I never got a call back. This hotel caused me to have anxiety and chest pains over what they did. Got no sleep do to worrying over money. Now to this past Friday's stay 3/21 yes the third floor but right near the blvd rm# 336 lol. At night it's like a drag race. Also the room is supposed to be feather free At check-in there was no sparkle as I have become accustomed to no gift bags to water bottles oh and no thanking me for being an ambassador member. Sorry but the little things count. So I quickly checked in was un-happy but no biggie get up stairs and drop my bags quick to go back to work. Later that evening we noticed I was sounding congested. Found out there was 1 feather pillow. We are allergic to feather (please pay attention). Again hotel staff in am did even seem concerned. Ambassador elite member end This is now the 2nd time I have lost sleep. Not easy to sleep when you can't breathe right. I ask the person at the desk when the hotel Manger would be in she said she had know idea. So please if you are staying on a redemption stay pay attention to what they are holding on your account or better find a different hotel. At first my husband and I loved staying here because it was convenient. With no compensation from my redemption stay. Now this being the second time I lost a night of sleep when I work 7 days a week. ALSO WITH HOW MUCH I PAID FOR NO PERKS. I am not so sure I want to come back. I really hate leaving back reviews I am sorry I draw the line on feathers in the room. I do not recommend this hotel. Remember have fun with what your doing and keep real because I know I do with every review. Yours truly The real deal It's pretty bad when they bleed your account dry on a stay where Y we're not supposed to pay LOL.
Mar 25, 2025 · The Real Deal 12401We used this hotel for our stay during the New York Sheep and Wool festival. It is about fifteen minutes from the festival right across the bridge. The room was very clean and the room service was very thorough. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The most outstanding feature , however , was the service at the front desk. I accidentally left a dental mouthpiece in the room when we left. We called the hotel when we realized it was gone, and the front desk clerk.Renee worked diligently with a laundry staff to recover it. They had it on its way before we even got home, Kudos to the staff at this hotel. We will definitely return.
Oct 21, 2024 · Pitchfork Cindy MargaretWe have family in the area so visit multiple times a year and always stay in Marriott properties. We've had poor experiences at Kingston Marriott properties so booked the inn at bellfield this time. My six year old was disappointed by the lack of pool, we've been able to get Marriott day passes for pool use when we travel and our awesome front desk staff member arranged with courtyard Marriott Kingston for us to get a day use pool pass. When i called to confirm the staff at courtyard Marriott Kingston was awkward, rude, and showed zero hospitality. She kept telling me the pool isn't available for "public use" (we're customers of the company that owns the property), but confirmed they have previously made it available for day use, the person who gave us permission is a supervisor at her property, she just didn't realize they were still going the program . She took my name and number, promised to call me back....and never called me back. We will be back in town later this year, we will be booking a Marriott property, and we still wont be booking this Marriott property. My husband and I both worked in hospitality positions for years, there are times when it's easy to do something small and kind that makes a huge difference to a guest (in this case a 6yr old). We will continue choosing to spend our money where we are welcomed and where the staff understands the concept of hospitality.
