Thanks to Edgewood for their incredible hospitality this past weekend. Our group had a perfect dinner. The team there, especially our lovely server, was wonderful, warm, and attentive. The food and drinks were perfect. (That lobster cake special was beyond!) Also it’s such a cool space - historic yet modern, sophisticated yet cozy, intimate yet perfect for a group and fun. Highly recommend!

Went to the Edgewood as part of the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 2025 event. Our experience was comfortably elegant! The service was excellent & the food was wonderful (even with the limited menu options that provided a well-rounded selection)! We're looking forward to going back & selecting from their full menu!

I stayed at the Edgewood Hotel during peak season to enjoy the fall foliage with my amazing girlfriend. The property and Edgewood House are beautiful, and the staff was friendly, however we only saw someone at the front desk about 40% (otherwise, it was "call for service.") The amenities were somewhat lacking, no room/maid service, no TV/phone, a very small bathroom w/ only 2 towels, and some uneven flooring. That said, the bed was comfy and clean, the location was great, and we appreciated the dimmable chandelier and mini fridge. Unfortunately, we were woken up by construction around 7-8 AM on Sat., which lasted for about an hour. This was disappointing, as we are city-slickers, looking forward to a relaxing(& quiet) morning. Small details felt off, like a foosball table with a handle that was popping out, which let my gf win. Overall, it’s a lovely spot, and I’d recommend the property grounds, but not the hotel.

It's hard to manage expectations of this place, as it is such a beautiful house in such a beautiful location. I had dinner there shortly after the restaurant opened. Positives: the food is really good and well presented. The staff are super-friendly and competent. It was disappointing to find there was yet no liquor license, but the mocktails (made with no-alcohol spirits that are currently trending) were excellent. Negatives: the signage seems to offer valet parking, but no one was visible outside the property to offer this or guide you to the parking area, which is a good hundred yards from the entrance, and not well-lit. While the dining room has been beautifully fashioned out of the old sun lounge, and is well-appointed, with marble-top tables and stylish chairs, lighting etc., the rest of the house is very far from looking and feeling like an extension of Hutton Brickyards chic. Yes, it's an 1870s house, but that doesn't mean it should look like the home of a previously wealthy grandmother who has fallen on hard times or, indeed, a funeral home. The "period" furnishing and paintings are heavy and unfriendly and, I suspect, bought cheap and in a hurry at auctions. The walls are screaming for some interesting art, not the few scattered oil paintings of unknown dead people. It's expensive to properly furnish and style a property like this, and the owners are no doubt pressed for capital. But particularly unforgivable is the the lighting in most of the common areas, which is way too bright -- that is much less a matter of financial resources. I'm genuinely not sure what kind of clientele the proprietors are hoping to attract, but it seems hard to imagine a cool bar scene developing here, even after the liquor license is achieved. Definitely worth exploring, but don't get too excited yet. Let's hope for an influx of genuine style (and a lighting designer), soon.
