My husband, little puppy and I spent 1 night in cabin 14 while we were house hunting in the area. We always wanted to stay in a little cabin. It was the perfect size for the 3 of us with beautiful views of the wooded area. Everyone we interacted with on the property were very kind and helpful. Highly recommend especially if you have a pup or if you’re planning an event. Gorgeous venue too!

Hutton Brickyards Riverfront Hotel + Venue Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Kingston, New York, with a desire for a truly unique and luxurious experience that connects guests with nature and history, Hutton Brickyards Riverfront Hotel + Venue stands out as an exceptional choice. Located at 132 Lindsley Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, USA, this property is far more than a typical hotel; it's a sprawling, imaginative retreat set on 100 acres along the Hudson River, artfully repurposing the historic site of a former brick-making factory.

Environment: Industrial Heritage Meets Riverfront Serenity

The environment at Hutton Brickyards is defined by its rich industrial history and breathtaking natural beauty. The property was once a thriving brick manufacturing site, producing bricks that built iconic structures like the Empire State Building and Yankee Stadium. This heritage is preserved and celebrated, with "wonderful historical structures and ruins on the property," providing a unique, industrial-chic backdrop. The integration of these elements into a modern luxury setting is a key part of its allure, offering a compelling blend of past and present.

The vast 100-acre campus stretches along the Hudson River, offering "uninterrupted waterfront vistas" and a deep connection to nature. Guests can enjoy "beautiful views of the wooded area" or stunning panoramas of the river, creating a serene and picturesque escape. The landscape is thoughtfully designed with "beautiful setting and landscaping," including lush gardens, inviting fire pits (often with s'mores available), and various outdoor entertainment areas, inviting guests to relax and explore. The property is also surrounded by a 500-acre state park, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and biking.

The accommodations themselves are a highlight of the environment. The primary lodging consists of "modern cabins" that "cut a striking figure against the landscape." These cabins are thoughtfully designed with a "smart layout and those huge floor to ceiling windows," which allow for abundant natural light and the enjoyment of views, whether of the woods or the river. At night, guests can turn off indoor lights to "enjoy some stargazing," emphasizing the natural immersion. In addition to the cabins, there's "The Cottage," a historic piece of architecture offering a more spacious stay, and some "luxurious inn-style guest rooms" within the "gloriously restored hilltop Second Empire historic mansion" (Edgewood Mansion), providing diverse accommodation options for various preferences.

While offering a tranquil retreat, Hutton Brickyards is conveniently located near the vibrant heart of Kingston. It's approximately 1.8 miles from the city center and within walking distance of Kingston Point Beach and the Hudson River. This balance allows guests to enjoy the peaceful seclusion of the property while having easy access to Kingston's cultural attractions, dining, and shops. The property also offers direct access to the Empire State Trail, a multi-use pathway ideal for walking and cycling.

Services: Elevated Experiences and Attentive Care

Hutton Brickyards offers a comprehensive range of services designed to provide a luxurious and memorable stay, often described as "like summer camp for adults" by those who appreciate its unique blend of relaxation and activity. The staff is consistently praised as "very kind and helpful," "friendly and helpful whenever we asked for anything," ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and personalized service.

  • Accommodations: The 43 unique accommodations, including 31 modern cabins and 12 guest rooms in Edgewood Mansion or The Cottage, offer various setups. Cabins feature king or queen beds, mini-fridges, heating and air conditioning, in-room safes, high-quality apothecary bath products (e.g., Malin + Goetz), and Bluetooth speakers. Riverview cabins offer stunning river views, while Forest Queen cabins provide wooded serenity. The Cottage boasts a wet bar, dining area, living room, and a spacious bathroom with a clawfoot soaking tub for an enhanced experience.

  • Dining: The property features two seasonal restaurants and bars. The primary dining experience is at "The River Pavilion," an open-air, riverfront restaurant with wood-fired ovens and grills, offering brunch, lunch, and dinner with "uninterrupted panoramas of the Hudson River." It is "open to the public," and reservations are recommended. Happy hour and special events are also offered. Another dining option, Edgewood Restaurant + Bar, is located within the elegant setting of the Second Empire historic mansion, providing a different ambiance.

  • Spa & Wellness: Hutton Brickyards emphasizes relaxation and connection to nature through its wellness offerings. Guests can unwind in the "riverfront sauna spa," specifically private wooden barrel saunas with "breathtaking views of the Hudson River." A full menu of "massage + facial treatments" is available, often utilizing local and organic products. Scheduled activities like yoga classes, meditation sessions, sound baths, aromatherapy, nature walks, and stargazing further enhance the wellness experience, catering to guests seeking rejuvenation.

  • Activities: The sprawling campus provides a wealth of activities, many complimentary. Guests can enjoy "outdoor adventures" like archery, access to extensive hiking/biking trails (including direct access to the Empire State Trail), complimentary bicycle rentals, kayaking (nearby), various lawn games, well-maintained picnic spaces, numerous firepits, volleyball, and badminton. Group experiences like movie screenings, trivia, karaoke, mixology classes, wine/whiskey tasting, cooking workshops, and live music are also offered seasonally. A fitness center is available, and an EV charging station is conveniently on-site for electric vehicle owners.

  • Event Venue: Hutton Brickyards is a prominent "Venue" for "unforgettable experiences, weddings, and events of all kinds." It offers expansive, open-air venues like Cordts Hall, Lidgerwood Pavilion, Butler Pavilion, and Roundout Pavilion, capable of hosting gatherings from intimate dinners to large festivals and corporate retreats of up to 4,000 guests. They provide in-house catering and beverage service, and a list of preferred vendors for seamless event planning. Full campus buyouts are an option for complete privacy and exclusivity.

  • Pet-Friendly: A notable service is its welcoming pet-friendly policy, especially for dogs. "Pets are always welcome in the cabins at Hutton Brickyards" for a non-refundable pet fee (currently $75 per pet, per stay). A portion of this fee is thoughtfully donated to a local no-kill pet shelter. Pets must be domestic dogs (and cats, according to some sources), up to two per cabin, crated if left unattended, and up-to-date on vaccinations and on a leash when outside. Pets are not allowed in Edgewood Mansion.

  • Guest Services: The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, luggage storage, and a unique "thirsty flag" service for on-demand afternoon cocktail delivery directly to cabins. Room service is available during limited hours. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi (50+ Mbps) is available throughout the property and in all rooms.

Features: Repurposed Grandeur and Experiential Stays

The distinctive features of Hutton Brickyards set it apart as a unique destination in the Hudson Valley:

  • Historic Renovation & Adaptive Reuse: The successful transformation of an active industrial site into a luxury hotel and event venue is a defining characteristic. This thoughtful repurposing creates a compelling blend of rustic charm, historical significance, and modern sophistication.

  • Architectural Design: The "smartly designed cabins" with their "modern lines inspired by the Shaker aesthetic" and "huge floor to ceiling windows" provide a unique and comfortable lodging experience, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings and offering a sense of openness and light.

  • Riverfront Access & Views: Direct access to the Hudson River and stunning river views from many accommodations and public spaces (like the sauna and River Pavilion restaurant) is a major draw, providing a picturesque and calming backdrop to the entire experience.

  • Comprehensive Amenities & Activities: The wide array of on-site activities, diverse dining options, and extensive wellness facilities means guests can have a complete and enriching experience without necessarily needing to leave the property, fostering a true resort feel.

  • Extensive Event Capabilities: Its sprawling grounds and extensive, flexible event spaces, combined with dedicated services, make it a premier destination for weddings, corporate functions, and large-scale gatherings in the Hudson Valley, capable of hosting events for thousands of guests.

  • Dog-Friendly Environment: The welcoming policy for canine companions, specifically in the cabins and across the spacious grounds, is a significant advantage for pet owners seeking to travel with their animals, making it a truly inclusive getaway.

Had such a cozy winter weekend getaway at Hutton Brickyards! So happy this place was dog friendly! We stayed in a riverfront cabin and enjoyed the main house restaurant and riverfront sauna spa! The cabins are modern and feel so spacious thanks to smart layout and those huge floor to ceiling windows. At night we turned all of our indoor lights off to enjoy some stargazing! The staff was so friendly and helpful whenever we asked for anything, including giving us tips on things to do locally while we visited. There’s even EV charging stations available if you need them!

I recently had the pleasure of staying in cottage 3 for two nights. It was an incredible escape from my busy life. The view was absolutely glorious. My favorite part that I didn't expect was I had the perfect view of the winter sunrise over the Hudson and the mountains (from my bed!) I love seeing a sunrise so that made the stay extra special for me. I especially loved the soft robes and the heated bathroom floors, which added a luxurious touch to my stay. The record player was a delightful surprise and set the perfect ambiance for my time there (trying to unplug!) The bed was comfy, pillows were great. Overall I got what I came for... peace and quiet, sleep, rest and relaxation. I highly recommend the cottages facing the water for their privacy and tranquility. This is truly the perfect place to recalibrate and unwind. I can’t wait to return!

I’ve been to Hutton Brickyards multiple times, twice for Field & Supply and once just to explore, and it never disappoints. This venue is absolutely stunning, with a rich history and endless potential for incredible events and activities. Set right on the Hudson, the river views are breathtaking, and the cabins by the water make it even more special. It’s a truly unique and beautiful place. I love it here!

It was a beautiful gate-away at this property. We decided to escape busy and crowded NYC and spent the weekend relaxing and connecting with nature in a beautiful cabin overlooking the Hudson. The sauna experience was a real treat. We also enjoyed nice French style dinner at their restaurant. The food was delicious. Looking forward to come here again during warmer months.
