Get directionsCourtyard Wilmington Downtown impressed me on every level. Even while undergoing renovations, the property remained clean, organized, and welcoming. The team clearly put in extra effort to minimize any disruption to guests, and it showed. My stay was comfortable and quiet, and I appreciated the thoughtfulness behind how the work was being managed. The location is perfect for business travel, and the rooms are well maintained, with everything you need to work and relax. The common areas, even mid-renovation, were tidy and inviting. What stood out most was the staff. Every team member I encountered was courteous, professional, and focused on creating a great experience. It is clear that guest satisfaction is a top priority here. This is a well-run hotel with a team that takes pride in what they do. Apr 23, 2025 · Jesse StrupI've never tried to stay out of a hotel more while booked somewhere than this hotel. I was here for a work trip for a week. Things started going wrong almost immediately. I will say the staff was always friendly and polite regardless of how many things they got wrong or didn't do. At check-in they wrote down my license plate number wrong from a picture that resulted in a parking ticket my second night. That was easy to fix because even though the hotel put the license plate in wrong the parking ticket also had the incorrect license plate number written on the ticket. After getting checked in I headed up to my room on the 5th floor. The elevators smelled of smoke and the floors were sticky. Not a great first impression. As I got off the elevator the carpets and walls also had stains on them. Inside the room it was a little smaller than I was expecting but nothing outside reasonable. I started to unpack and went to shower and I pulled down a towel and there were clumps of long black hairs on the towel. I called down and they very quickly brought up fresh towels but still very disgusting. Inside the shower there were also shorter black hairs. I tried washing them down but the shower head was fixed. The hairs I didn't clean weren't cleaned until the last time housekeeping visited (they came in every other day). The walls were very thin. I could hear the TV, personal phone calls, and people yelling at all hours of the day and night. It was a little uncomfortable being able to hear other peoples phone calls in adjacent rooms all while knowing they could hear my phone calls. Because it was a work trip I did a physical checkout to ensure an itemized receipt would be sent. They said it was sent to an email address we confirmed at check-in so I thought it was good. Five days later I hadn't received it so I called and they resent it and it still didn't come so I had to call back again to finally get the receipt. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. Definitely not business and for sure not pleasure. Only redeeming point is that the staff was friendly.
Mar 26, 2025 · Isaac EaquintoWe wanted to stay at rhe hotel during Mother’s day weekend, however their system at the front desk was “down.” They couldn’t give us a room, without any time horizon. So we we cancelled our stay (no conf # because no sustem,) and went across the street to a Sheraton. It was after 16:00 and we really needed to set up. Needless to say, i am now trying to get refunded on a two day stay that we didn’t use, and the front desk staff (who took my cancellation) has changed her narrative, arguing that it was me who decided to cancel. It’s like dealing with a cheap 1 star hotel located at a random road…. I’m trying to get refunded, but obviously, they don’t return calls or respond to emails…. Check the Sheraton before you book!
May 12, 2025 · JE GAI stayed at the Courtyard Wilmington Downtown by Marriott over Thanksgiving, and it was a great experience. The location is perfect—right in the middle of everything, with restaurants, shops, and local attractions nearby, which was really convenient during the holiday weekend. The hotel itself was clean and cozy, and the vibe was exactly what I needed for a comfortable stay away from home. The service was what really stood out. The front desk team was awesome, and I’ve got to give a shoutout to Joy. She was so welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed, even during such a busy holiday. Her professionalism and friendly attitude added a nice personal touch to my stay. If you’re ever in Wilmington, I’d definitely recommend this spot. Between the great location, comfortable setup, and top-tier service, it made my Thanksgiving weekend easy and stress-free.
Dec 02, 2024 · Desmond Chapman3.25 STARS. Nice enough, but not so nice that it warrants much of a nightly rate. The wifi was wonky. The parking was overpriced, with no security and no literal connection to the hotel. Weirdest of all, there always seemed to be staff people on hand, but at the same time, none of the common areas-lounges-amenities-etc didn't ever seem available...so I didn't know what most of the staffers were even there to do. Perhaps best of all, it's a 1/2 block away from a great bar called Torbert Social (or something like that)...which matters immensely since it doesn't seem to be near much else. If you can get a deal tho, it's solid.
