A converted boat house! All the amenities but on a miniature scale. Not for the claustrophobic. Everything worked up to expectations. View of the lake was excellent! Judith, the hostess, was most accommodating and patient. Would probably return again if the opportunity presented itself.

The "Hotels Near Of Me" platform is vital for connecting users with these localized, often niche, lodging solutions that perfectly match their immediate needs and preferences.
The environment surrounding Days by the Lake is undoubtedly its strongest asset. Situated directly lakeside on Conesus Lake, guests are treated to "absolutely beautiful setting lake side" and "excellent" views of the water. The property's design as a converted boat house provides a unique perspective and an intimate connection with the lake. This serene backdrop makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and unwinding, far from the hustle and bustle. The quiet and natural ambiance is perfect for those looking to escape and enjoy the tranquility of a lakeside retreat. Reviews consistently highlight the peaceful nature of the location, emphasizing its suitability for a "great place to relax with the family" and that "people are really kind around the lake."
While described as being on a "miniature scale" due to its boat house origins, Days by the Lake is praised for having "all the amenities" necessary for a comfortable stay. This typically implies a fully equipped living space. Based on general information for similar vacation rentals in the area, guests can expect a full kitchen, allowing for self-catering and offering significant savings on dining out. This often includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and essential cookware and dishware. The presence of a "grill and fireplace" (or outdoor fire pit, common for lakeside properties) as highlighted in reviews, significantly enhances the outdoor living experience, allowing for barbecues and cozy evenings by the fire. The property often includes outdoor spaces such as a deck or patio to fully appreciate the lake views.
Specific features that enhance the guest experience at Days by the Lake include its layout, often featuring 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, capable of sleeping up to 5 people. This makes it suitable for small families or a group of friends. Guests can expect a queen bed in one bedroom and a double bed in the other, along with air conditioning in the living area and fans in the bedrooms for comfort. For added convenience, a full-size washer and dryer are typically available. While some information suggests "no TV, no Wi-Fi, no phone" for a true "unplug and unwind" experience, other sources indicate that some units in the area, and possibly this one, might offer complimentary Wi-Fi, which is a common amenity for vacation rentals. Cell service is generally reported as good in the area. The availability of outdoor recreational equipment, such as kayaks (e.g., two single and one double kayak), further enriches the stay by allowing guests to directly engage with Conesus Lake.
The hospitality at Days by the Lake is consistently lauded. Judith, the hostess, is described as "most accommodating and patient" and "so welcoming," making guests feel "right at home." This personal touch from the host is a significant advantage of staying at a private rental over a larger, more impersonal hotel. The reviews suggest a strong connection with guests, often leading to repeat visits, with one family noting they "comes here once a yr and everyone looks forward to it. We love it here." This speaks volumes about the positive guest experience and the welcoming atmosphere fostered by the property owner.
The location of Days by the Lake, while offering a secluded feel, is also conveniently close to several major attractions in the Finger Lakes region. It's described as a "short drive from Stoney Brook park and Letchworth park." Stony Brook State Park, known for its gorge, waterfalls, and swimming opportunities, is approximately a 20-25 minute drive away. Letchworth State Park, famously known as the "Grand Canyon of the East" with its dramatic Genesee River gorge and multiple waterfalls, is also within a roughly 20-30 minute drive. These nearby state parks offer extensive hiking trails, picturesque scenery, and various outdoor activities, making Days by the Lake an excellent base for nature enthusiasts. Additionally, being on Conesus Lake itself provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming. The nearby village of Geneseo (about 10 minutes away) offers access to dining, shopping, and SUNY Geneseo.
Promotional information for Days by the Lake would likely highlight its unique "converted boat house" charm, the breathtaking lake views, and the opportunity for a truly relaxing and private escape. Emphasis would be placed on its suitability for families and those seeking outdoor adventures, with direct lake access and proximity to world-class state parks. The personalized hospitality from Judith and the ability to cook and grill on-site would also be key selling points, appealing to those who prefer a home-away-from-home experience rather than standard hotel services. The affordability, combined with the comprehensive amenities and stunning location, makes Days by the Lake a highly attractive option for anyone searching for distinctive lodging through "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Geneseo and Conesus Lake area.
